Please keep District 8 members in your throughts a prayers in the upcoming hours, days, month and years.
On June 7, 2007 at 3:30 a.m., Cathy Patrick passed away at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Cathy was the current District 8 Director in addition to an active ARBA judge and a member of many clubs. In the past she also had been the chairman of the ARBA Show Rules Committee.
On June 8, 2007 at 4:25 a.m., LeAnn Colley passed away at home after battling a longterm illness. LeeAnn resided in Paulding Ohio and was a dedicated rabbit breeder.
Ohio has been hard and heavy within the past 24 hours with the loss of two very lovely ladies both dedicated to the hobby of rabbits. So please keep the rabbit community in your thoughts and prayers.

That is so sad, I never knew the ladies, but my thoughts and prayers are with their families at this time.

When an ARBA office become vacant the ARBA president appoints a person to finish out the term. The Board of Directors must then approve the appointment.
Today, President Dr. Chris Hayhow announced that our Vice President and former District 8 director, Bruce Ormsby, will be an interim during the selection of a director to finish out the term.
If you wish to follow this process the ARBA is now posting information on their website and have a memorom of Cathy Patrick. I encourage you to check out the memorom to see just how much this women did for our rabbit community. :D

Just to show how well the rabbit world works together.
There is a rabbit show that's going to be held the end of this month with all proceeds going to Cathy's husband, Bill. Judges are donating their services and national/state clubs are donating sanctions. A rabbit auction and raffle will also take place. As of right now there are 7 announced judges. Supposely it's expected to be a big show but it's over 3 hours from me so I won't be attending. However, I do have information if anyone is interested. The show will be held in Holmes County, Ohio.
