I have just been More Determined to Fight this BSL. I know people in St. Paul who owns Pit Bulls. and this is Awful! which means As long as I am living here, I wont be able to Own a Pit. Even though I don't live in that city, where I am at we go by them.
Just made my Happy day to a very angry and Determined day to end this!

I just ended it with a Friend, because she didn't believe in me. She would tell me things just to get my hopes up. Just to make me feel like Scum.

I am just SO determined to not let this be Considered anymore!

I posted bullitnes on Myspace (Most of my friends on there are Pit Bull lovers) I'm maybe Hoping to get things set up to where at like a Dog Park or something we set something up for the Pit bulls.

I am Just so Angry and Upset abotu this whole thing!!!! Mostly because if this gets passed, then we would have people on our butts non stop about Brittney. because she serisously has teh Head and mouth of a Pit Bull. but she's a Purebreed and we have the papers to prove this. but it's still like they are gonna be killing innocent family memebers. I too think BSL is wrong, you can't judge all of any one thing on breed, race, species or color, when will they finally get it??

I know Donovan blends in with the dogs LOL, waiting to hear what happened today, the stupid state wants to pass a ban across the entire state, it better get shot down is all i have to say, other wise i'd be ashamed I have to admit I live here.

I mean who do they think they are fooling, do they realize by doing that they would just encourage people to hide their dogs to lie about them, and to not get them vaccinated just to "protect" them, and what kinds of problems would that bring on?

Not to mention what's next, how many breeds would they have to ban to get that it doesn't make sence, it doesn't solve any issues, and it doesn't protect anyone from a dog bite. today, pit bull tomorrow, 10 other breeds, and before you know it all breeds will be banned. they better do what's right. I was unable to go, as i was working this morning and it closed at 1pm, but at least one our regular clients went today, and she is a pit mummy.

if that Ban were to happen here, we would have to provide Brittney's papers to prove that she is a Full breed English Springer Spaniel. She has a head like a Pit Bull, nice and big like a Pits. Which is so odd because Totally differnet breeds.

i've actually read somewhere that huskey have even been banned!! I'm gonna have to find it again. It's not that much of a shock but a Great Dane was even under it! The breeds who's nick name is Gentle Giants.

I wish there was a way I could prove that a sweet dog like a Golden could attack! There was a Golden trying to go after my mom one time. And the Shepard was going after my dog Brittney. My mom was bit by an irish Setter. a black Lab at my local animal Shelter was tryign to attack me through the gate. I have better luck with the "dangerous" dogs than with the "non-Dangerous" ones. haha.

People call me crazy because I will stick my arm as much as possible in the cages to pet the dogs. The ones who people would walk right on by because they are "Ugly", or they look "Mean" Eli Finally got adopted! Everytime a person would walk by he'd bark at them. and he was BIG. (Shepard malamute mix) I wouldn't hear the people behind me Because I'm focused on teh dogs. but My mom would hear them call me Crazy for doing that.

I was sitting next to a Puppy.. aLittle Puppy! a Staffie Pit mix. and this old chick keeps on walking by. "oh thats one of those mean dogs that people fight" and then she look sand it sayd "reference needed" on the sheet. and she goes "See it says that because they are mean dogs" and I'm just looking at her like "are you dumb!? It's just a puppy! theres nothing wrong with any of these dogs!"

I swear I'm gonna own a Rescue group for all these dogs that fallen under the BSL.
it's really unfair to the dogs. The chick that got attack by the pit bull, said On TV "all Pit bulls should be wiped from the earth" I seriously Just Yelled "WHAT?!" and I started to Curse. haha. and My parents tried telling me she had a right to say that because of what happend to her. and I'm fighting with them saying "no she had NO right to say that! it's like me sayign to her That I think her favorite breed of dog. the kind of breed her dog is should be wiped from this earth!"

People often can't see past the end their own nose. but seriously, because of a few rotten apples people are ready to toss the whole barrel.

what they don't get is any dog can bite, any dog can attack, any dog can kill. and yes even some toy breeds have killed.

I can say though working at the vet clinic we see our fair share of dogs, and biters and what not, and yes there are some who do seem to be more likely to bite over others, but honestly pits don't even make it into the top 10 list of that.

as far as the woman saying all should be wiped from the face of the earth, I see no reason we should giver her the right to say that. that is like saying all men should be wiped from the planet because a man attacked her. to be even more exact you could say all brown eyed men with brown hair, or all red headed men, or all asian men, it makes just as much sence. condemming a whole group for the actions of a few.

as to my dog, he is a mutt, and i'm a bigger threat to them than he is, and if they pass such a law, i'll be ashamed to admit i live in this state, i'll be ashamed to admit this state is even a part of the USA. which is supose to be about freedom, not controling every little thing. they have forgotten what this country was founded on.
Don't get me wrong I think there should be a dangerous dog law, but it should not list it by breeds, but by actions, and the actions of the owners.

Recently here 2 Cocker Spaniels attack a little kid! It's sad to say but I'm glad that these people reported it to the news. Because now it's getting out there it's not only Pit bulls.

I heard that in a temperment test the number 1 dog for temperment issues was teh Labrador, and next was the cocker spniel. Pit Bulls didn't make the top 5. They should be takign that into consideration!

Racism and because they want to take them away inthe places they have banned them, and "destroy"(what a 'nice' term) the ones who are still alive regardless of their temperament, that is genocide, like the holocaust for the dogs.


many times the dog doing the attack isn't even a pit, but pits make the news lines so they use it anyways, on the ones that it is not you will sometime find a prited statement in retractions a day or 2 later, but who ever reads that? ok i'm a bit irrtable because i'm tired, so headed to bed.

i hate to say it but people as an overall are stupid. many of them don't think. and run with any little tidbit they think might be true w/o finding out the real facts. and it's not just in one or 2 areas but in many different areas.
like when someone does something they know is wrong know they are gonna get caught for but do it anyways, then act suprized that there were consequences for their actions.

Like that one "friend" of mine. she's had one bad dog her whole life. and takes it out on Dogs in General. esp more so the breeds that I care for and love. I don't like cats but I never said to her i think all cats should die. Because i don't think that way. I never said to her how much i hate them. and how much of a waste of time they are. Because I dont they they are a waste of time. Because there are people out there that LOVE cats. and I understand that. because I LOVE Dogs, Reptiles, and Rabbits. But anythign that I liked/loved she'd find someway to hate it. to always bring me down for liking them. Whenever she came over here she was scared of my Springer Britt. (because she's BIG.. she's like 60 some lbs that's not big. haha) I'd close my door so Britt couldn't get in. but later on when i got tired of her complaining I just stopped doing that. I'm scared of cats, and she has 3 of them. but would she put her cats away nope. I even told her that one of her cats scare me! She just laughed. her family gave me a weird look because one of her cats wanted me to pick him up but i wouldn't. I said to teh cat "I'm not gonna pick you up because I don't knwo how you liked to be picked up." they just gave me the look like "wow your mean!" I even said that to the other cat of my friends. It was in the car, and behind me on the back dashboard whatever you wanna call it. haha and I'm like I'm not gonna pick the cat up I don't wanna be bitten.

That's just something I don't do. I'll pet the cats. But I'm not gonna pick them up.

But I don't wish that all cats would die. Because that's wrong, and I don't believe in wishing something dead just because I don't like it... Well I take that back I wish all Spiders would die. But I mean come on.. Who likes them!? haha

well people do have pet spiders... course not me, not my cup of tea, but each to their own... ;-)

This whole statewide ban I think is so stupid! and is a form of being racist. Just because they are animals doesn't mean you can't be racist. Rottweiler, Pit bulls, and Chow Chows are Sweet dogs! My mom and I go to the animal shelter in woodbury every other weekend. They always get these kinds of dogs in there, and I'm sitting on the floor playing with these "dangerous" dogs. I'm sticking my hand in the cage as far as it will go. Giving these Dogs attention and love they wouldn't get from Judge mental people. I've been knocked to the ground, on my back by these dogs. Doing nothing but licking my face! In the temper mental test that are given to each breed of dogs, the Pit Bulls, Rotties. were NOT in the top 5 of dangerous dogs. Number one was the Labrador. Out of all the times I've been to the shelter not one of those "dangerous" dogs showed any signs of being aggressive towards me. There was one dog though, one dog that tried to attack me through the cage door. That was a Black Lab. I've never seen a mean dog unlike that one. A family that lives by me has a Golden, and two German Shepards. Well when this happend they had two Goldens and a Shepard. those dogs got out, went into my yard. the Shepard went after my Springer Spaniel. and the Goldens went after my mom! My mother was able to get them to leave. but Lesch saying that you never hear about the Goldens, yeah you never hear about them. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen!

ALL Animals WILL bite you! wither they are playing, or they are defending themselves. Animals that are playing WILL draw blood on you, they WILL break skin. People do NOT understand that! I've been bitten sooo many times by my pets. It happens, clean it off and get over it! Animals that bite you should NOT be the end of the world. I'm sorry for all you people that have been bitten by a dog enough for you to be scared of them. Think of this though, where is that going to get you life?! You can't avoid that animal all your life. I used to be scared of cats, because I've had nothing but bad luck with them. It doesn't mean I want to ban every cat there is. because there ARE people out there who LOVE their cats, and they are like their babies. That's EXACTLY what it is with people and these Breeds of dogs that are trying to be banned. Just because some people screwed up on raising them the proper way. Doesn't mean you should punish the whole breed.. Ever hear of PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED?! If Minnesota passes any kind of law banning ANY type of breed of dogs I will be moving out of state. Sad to say it I love Minnesota, but I will NOT support a state that supports Racial Profiling. I know there are people reading this thinking.."oh geese another PeTA person" No, that's not me. I Don't support PeTA, PeTA supports the banning of the "dangerous" dogs. I am just the voice for these WONDERFUL dogs. You know Great Danes nickname is Gentle Giants?! and they are consider "dangerous" because people are scared of their size. But what about the Irish Wolfhounds?! They are the tallest dogs in the world. Great Danes just come in 2nd.

What about those Cocker Spaniels?! They recently attack a small boy. What about Ruby?! The Pit Bull that made it into the hall of fame?! Take a look at the records. In WWI a Pit Bull was the first war dog. Petey on the Little Rascals is an American Bulldog. Another "dangerous" breed of dog. Also Chance on Homeward Bound he is an American Bulldog. If Lesch wants to ban these Loyal dogs, companion to many. I suggest he go to the animal shelters and take a look at what these breeds are REALLY like. Heck I'll even go with him, show him theres nothing to be scared of. I've been called Crazy, for sticking my hand in a cage with these "dangerous" dogs. But I don't care because I love those breeds. I will fight for them till the day I die. People are amazed also at how nice they are with me, and children that see me petting them and they want to pet them. Every one of these "dangerous" dogs that I've played with have gotten adopted.

I wish I could say nice stuff about the Akitas but I've never seen one in person. But I am SURE they have to be also Super sweet!

Please people just remember.. Its NOT the breed... It's the PEOPLE that raise them.

glad to see your are voicing your opinion, one small comment when dealing with public issus, dangerous breeds, and dangerous dogs are 2 seperate things. a dangerous dog is a truely agressive dog reguardless of breed, and a dangerous breed is a breed that people are scared of and think they might be agressive based on breed alone.
And when dealing with state and public issues you want to try and be clear on that just because other wise you could be considered knowing them 'dangerous" and not caring. i know that was not what your letter ment but when someone wants to push their own agenda they typically will use what ever means they deem fit. other wise i think you did an good job, good for you for speaking up and having a voice.

oh there is no question about what you mean, I just wanted to let you know about what could be said with the slightest lil thing, it sucks, but one the things they tell you when writing a letter to state rep and the like is to be sure you dot all your i's cross all your t'sand try to word things as carefully as you can so they can be taken out of context as little as possible. I don't imagine they will with your letter, but just wanted you to keep it in mind with any future letters you may write as we know this battle isn't over yet.
i think we are just starting to see what peta really is, and i think as time goes by the real truth will come out entirely.
