Title: Peeing Blood

Cinnabun - January 30, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
Now her Pee is like all Blood now!!!!!!

I'm getting soo frusterated about wht's goign on now.
I'm going to give her a butt bath right now. and Find out what's wrong with her.

Love4Lops - January 30, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
Cinn, that's pretty serious - you should really take her to the vet now. Snoopy, my guinea pig, had blood in her private area and became very ill, and within a few days she was gone. I'm not trying to scare you, I mean it's not even the same species - but Cinn needs to go to the vet. A butt bath can't fix anything internally of course.

Sending good thoughts your way! Please update whenever possible. Feel better soon Cinnamen!

Cinnabun - January 30, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
no a butt bath is for the clumps of poo stuck to her butt.

I really can't handle any more of this stuff right now. I'm about to blow

MyBabyBunnies - January 30, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
If I remember correctly, she isn't spayed right? I'd have to say there is a high likelyhood that it is cancer. It could also be a urinary tract infection or some other problem. All of these require medical attention. Blood in the urine is very serious and she needs to see a vet about it.

Cinnabun - January 30, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
No Petco told me she was spayed. She better be.. Payed 100.00 for her because she was spayed. I was just having my doubts because of how Grumpy she was.

I have my doubts, there has been a number of cases where Petco has claimed things like this which are untrue.

I still think she needs to see a vet. I highly doubt she really is spayed.

Bo B Bunny - January 31, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
If you are sure it's pee and not just dark urine, I would have her to the vet immediately. These things aren't stuff to let go.

becc_boland - January 31, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
Oh no Manda, have u taken her to the vet?

Cinnabun - January 31, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
I believe it's Blood It look like it.

My mom also pointed out that it could be that dark from teh poo that is stuck to her bottom

Poo on her bottom wouldn't do that.

If she's getting alot of calcium in her diet it can cause their pee to be orangish red.

Cinnabun - January 31, 2007 03:29 AM (GMT)
I don't think shes getting a lot of calicum.

Bo B Bunny - January 31, 2007 11:30 AM (GMT)
I'd get her to the vet then.

Dwarf_Angel04 - January 31, 2007 03:29 PM (GMT)
Are there clumps of blood or is the pee just a red coloration?

Cinnabun - January 31, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
how do you give them Clacium? I never had any problems like that with Bugs or Missey.

No there's no clumps.

I gave her a Wheat thin a couple of days ago. Could that cause it?

Bo B Bunny - January 31, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
Calcium is in a lot of their foods. Do you give her treats (besides wheat thins?)

We have a horse that is crazy for wheat thins! LOL!

Do you give her any greens? Some greens can have a lot of calcium in them.

Cinnabun - January 31, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
Her treats are the Oats, Crasins, and I'll sometimes give her what I'm eating.

She's a really picky eater. and some of the greens. (Like I've noticed Grass does this) Her favorite kind of Leaves are out of season right now. But they will give her the runs.

She's just really picky. anything New to eat she wont try it right away. i have to put it in her food dish. and she'll take a bite if she likes it she'll keep eating it otherwise she will throw it out of her dish.

Dwarf_Angel04 - January 31, 2007 08:33 PM (GMT)
So it's just a red coloration? Or is it an orange/red color?

What has she ate recently besides her normal rabbit food and the wheat thin?

Is her water bottle working properly?

Is she acting any different then normal? Fatigue? Stressed?

Has she recently moved inside from the cold or is she still outside?

Cinnabun - January 31, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
It's like Orangish red.

I gave her soem Oats and Crasins.

yeah it's working just fine.

Yeah She just came in from outside. She's been in since Saturday. I believe

Dwarf_Angel04 - January 31, 2007 11:20 PM (GMT)
It sounds like it's just red urine which is quite common.

Red urine can be caused from a number of things-- stress, diet, dehydration, weather change.

In the meantime, just feed her normal food and discontinue treats till it clears. Sometimes it takes a few days and other times it can take a few weeks to clear.

However, if you notice any additional changes (spots of blood, blood clumps in the litterbox/tray) then seek vet advice.

If in doubt seek a vet's advice.

Cinnabun - February 1, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
Okay, Thank you DA..

My mom and I are planning on Changing her food soon to what we would normally buy. Incase her food now is the one making her sick.

Bo B Bunny - February 1, 2007 12:53 AM (GMT)
Yep, sounds like red urine. Both of mine have had that.

What type of food is she getting? is it just a pellet? if not, I would slowly change her to a good pellet.

Cinnabun - February 1, 2007 01:24 AM (GMT)
This is what I feed Cinnamen, and she LOVES it. So I'm a little sad to change it. She LOVES the orange stuff the most though Se eats those first.

What kind of stores do you have our your way besides like Wal-Mart/K-Mart?

You've got Petsmart...what about Tractor Supply?

Cinnabun - February 1, 2007 02:47 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure if i Have that. if I do It's going to be liek WAYYYYYYYYYY far away from me.

But then again i don't know.

I have a Feed store by my house called Chuck and Dons Pet food outlet. and a Petco but thats about it

Bo B Bunny - February 1, 2007 11:45 AM (GMT)
There are a lot better feeds for less money out there. DA knows more cause I am a strict Oxbow gal but I know they sell Purina and other show feeds at our Tractor Supply and it's not anywhere near as expensive as those little bags of stuff.

Cinnabun - February 1, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure If I have one of those Close by me.

It's gotta be close by me, Otrewise I can't go. My dad wont take me there, and my mom has problems driving in areas she doesn't know very well.

Dwarf_Angel04 - February 1, 2007 03:43 PM (GMT)
The only problem with TSC is they normally sell the feed in 50 lbs bags. With one rabbit less then 1/2 way through the bag the feed will loose it's nutrition. Unless you freeze the feed but I'm not sure how well that works.

If I recall wool breeds should be on 18% protein although I've got my Lionhead on 16% and he seems to be doing fine.

I'll do some looking when I get home from work late tonight as I'm doing an 11 hr day.

Cinnabun - February 1, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
thanks DA..

How would she get the protein?

Pet_Bunny - February 1, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
Protein is in the pellets.
It should be listed on the package.
Pebbles gets 14% protein. Any higher, can cause her to moult.

Mabey u should go to the vet for the blood AND have them check if she is spayed or not. Poor baby

Cinnabun - February 2, 2007 12:33 AM (GMT)
well DA said it's probably just the red urine, thats common in rabbits. And she has had it since. Just that one time.

I've gotta get a job though to get her checked. I don't have any money right now. and my parents are only willing to pay for my Pup Tayas vet vists.

So is she still having the 'discolored' urine?

Just remember, I'm not a vet so if in doubt contact a vet!

Cinnabun - February 2, 2007 08:10 AM (GMT)
Nope. Not that I've noticed.
