Title: BEGGERS!

Bo B Bunny - December 29, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)
I cannot believe how rotten Clover has become! She hears the craisen bag, refrigerator, anything! and she's in the corner with her nose out! It's like a precision routine watching her and Bo!

Do you have this same issue? are your buns as spoiled as mine are?

I was going to post this somewhere else, but I guess I can add it here.

Yes Ellie used to be a terrible begger. Whenever someone would just turn on the light in the kitchen she would come running....or if she heard the refrigerator door open...or the crinkling of plastic wrap. No wonder she is so fat.....errrr, FLUFFY! ;)

But now (and this is the part I was going to post somewhere else)....I think Ellie might be deaf or her hearing is severely diminished. She doesn't respond to voices at all...and seems to get startled whenever I come up behind her....even though I am talking to her the entire time. She never comes running to the kitchen doorway like she used to....and seems to spend more time covered up under her blankie than she used to lay out in the open.

Do you think a vet would be able to tell if she can still hear?

Just the slightest crinkle of Plastic Bags would perk up Pebbles Ears and have her leaning over her cage or standing up on her hind legs checking if there is any thing for her. :P

I dont't know how they test for hearing but you know your bunny best. If you think Ellie is having problems, most likely she might.

Here is the doctor checking Pebbles when I had her in two weeks ago. At that time Pebbles was sneezing, and her nose was wet. The Doctor prescribed some antibotics and everything seems fine now.

I think a lot of bunnies begin to lose their hearing as they get older! I've heard a lot of people mention similar things.

Maybe you could do a few tests with loud things or whatever---- that's all a vet would do.

Pebbles is cute peeking over to get treats!

Bo is chunky but Clover is thin. She's so funny! she was doing the 500/binkie fest all in one move last night! It was just a blurrrrrrrrr.......

At times, she scares me when she leans way over the edge and about to fall out. :upset:

I would be terrified of having an open topped cage for either buns! Pig has one, but he can't jump!

I know bunnies usually jump OVER things but up onto things - so we always keep their playpen away from high counters and stuff.
