Title: Who can be the quietest?

So tonight when I went out to feed I was greeted with a loud group! I wasn't even in the barn yet when the rabbits were all biting at their doors, thumping and running around being crazy! So tonight I decided to play a game with them!

Who can be the quietest?

I got the bowl of food and stood by the door and watched the whole barn as they were jumping around. During this time I kept whispering and trying to calm them down. Finally I noticed a section of rabbits that were actually just sitting in front of their doors not moving an inch. So they got fed.

I then stood back by the doors and watched the remaining three sections. Finally, the section in front of the 'fed' section grew quiet. So ever so calmly and quiet I went over and fed the 'quiet' rabbits.

Again, I walked back the barn doors and watched as the two remaining sections were jumping and biting at the doors. This time I had to wait longer... a whole 3 mintues till one section finally stopped thumping, jumping and biting at the door. So these rabbits were fed.

Again, back to the barn doors to wait for the last section to grow quiet. After another 2 minutes these rabbits would not quit being loud! So I moved in closer to them with the bowl of food in hand and started softly talking to them telling them they needed to calm down. Keep in mind, this last section has 3 out of the '4' breeds in the barn, a Dwarf Hotot, Netherland Dwarf and Polish. Dwarf Hotots are loud to begin with but this time this doe was the first to get quiet in her section rewarding with food. So again I stood there for a minute waiting for another rabbit to get quiet. Next was a blue Polish to be fed. Back to standing back and watching the two remaining loud ones who were biting at the cage doors. By this time I started growing impatient! So I blew on both of their noses causing them to run to the back of their cage. The next rabbit to come to the front and chew on the wire was to be 'last place'. Wouldn't you know! The oldest rabbit in the barn came to the front and chewed on his door! So needless to say the broken blue Polish doe was fed next.

Before Jack, chestnut ND was fed, I gave him a little 'pet' talking. I informed him how disappointed I was that he was the loudest in the barn and that all these ladies and younger rabbits were quiet before he didn't even get the 'hint'. I made him hold off to get his food during this talk and recieved the 'butt' in return.

I then went to close down the barn for the night and on my way back into the house I was estatic! The loudest and most active rabbit in the barn is also the oldest rabbit in the barn! :) The little guy will be 8 in April and oviously still extremely estatic about life!

So I just had to share this little story as I was so disappointed yet so estatic at the same time over the 'loudest/rudest' rabbit in the barn. :innocent:
