Title: Let me tell you something......

Bo B Bunny - October 24, 2006 10:58 AM (GMT)
If I ever hear of anyone of you drinking and driving, I'll personally come to you and kick your butt and I mean it!

One of my son's friends decided to go to a party over the weekend. She lied to her parents and told them she was spending the night at a friend's house. She was driving home and ran a red light - was T-boned in the driver's side. She wasn't wearing her seatbelt. She was thrown from the car.

She was 16. :(

Wow.. Is she okay?

I'll Never Drink and Drive.. It's So stupid. one of my "uncles" Wont pick up his License because he knows he will drive drunk again. so he's smart for that one at least.
I went to a party on Saturday, but my friend and I brought another friend. She wanted to go with. and she volenteered to Drive us home. because she cn't drink because she's Pregnant. so she was our sober driver. but yeah.

Jesse McCartney has an AMAZING song I'll get the lyrics. his friend died in a Drunk driving accident (his friend was the one drunk)

I said don't do it babe
Said it ain't worth it babe
But you did it anyway
Four or five drinks and you were on your way

September 1st, 2003
It took the life right out of me
Hung up the phone
And raced out the door
Broken
I tried to believe that it wasn't true
But in my heart I always knew
That being the life of the party would catch up to you
Your family was waiting and crying for three darn hours

[Chorus:]
I said don't do it babe
Said it ain't worth it babe
But you did it anyway
Four or five drinks and you were on your way
Everything was cool on the street away
But you took that turn doing eighty-five in a thirty-five
Why babe?

Every time I'm home I pass that road
Driving alone and the street feels cold
Seeing your face yeah it's haunting me
My mind goes crazy tryin' to figure out
Just where you'd be four years from now
And what you were thinking when the lights came down
Doctors were trying to save you for three darn hours

[Chorus]

Who ever said that life was fair
When you live without a care
When you're invincible
When you're invincible
When you're invincible
Who thinks about leaving when you're livin'

[Chorus]

It's called Invincible and it's on his new album.

His friend died on my Grandmas Birthday (The one that passed away)

No, Cinn. She died at the scene. My son is heartbroken. She was a really cute and funny person. I'd met her once myself and she was just bubbly.

awww That's so sad. Tell Luke I'm so sorry to hear that!

back in my jr year of High school, there was a Drunk driving accident just a street over from me. and it turned out to be 3 Sophmores. two Lived and one died. the driver was a Chick i talked to back when i was in 9th grade. and she wore a seat belt, and she only broke a few bones, the other guy wore his seatbelt and lived. the rumor was his ear got cut off but they were able to reattach it. and the 3rd guy wasn't wearing a seat belt and was also thrown out of the car from the back seat. about 30 some feet if i remember right. he didn't make it. so now the Chick is going to get charged with ManSlater (sp, not feeling very well) when she's 18 which she is now. But that was teh last i heard abotu it. I dunno if she still did. but when it happend it was raining. and at that street theres this bump and so they were speeding trying to get air from that. and she lost control.

I'm really sorry, Bo, for you, your son and the girl. :(

Last year a junior in my school was killed when a drunk driver crashed into her car.

This year a school in the same district has a girl in the hospital who went out one night in the cemetery with her friends. They were "ghost hunting" (pretend silly fun of course) and she went into this guy's yard whose house everyone said was haunted, and the guy shot her.

I second that! But I'll add the usage of illegal drugs while driving to that statement!

Sorry to hear about your son's friend. :(

Oh that's awful! :( Tell Luke I'm really sorry for his loss... it must be quite a shock for him.

Drinking/drugs and driving makes me so angry... Stupid, stupid, stupid people who think they are invincible and never consider that they might be the cause of someone's death. I have never drank then driven in my life... even after one... as I'm just too scared about the consequences. :(

We've lost several kids (five) over the past 2 years from that school. Each one involved drinking/drugs and driving.

Thank you all for your condolences. I will tell Luke.

Im very sorry to hear this its such a waste of life.too many kids think it wont happen too them.my 23 year old daughter is still mad at me cause she thinks i never let her have any fun.the crowd she ran with was a bunch of drunks and she may not of had as much fun but she is still alive.i guess she will get over it someday.bluebird

Bo B Bunny - October 26, 2006 04:23 PM (GMT)
Yep, bluebird. I used to think my mom was so mean but ya know, I am alive and I had a b/f killed when I was 15. Had she been one to let me run around with him I'd be dead now.

That's so awful. :( Why....I just don't understand it.

Her poor parents too. It really hurts me to think about it because one of my best friends is just like that. Lies to her parents and goes off and parties. They are smart enough to get a desginated driver as far a I know, but I worry about her...unfortunately with some people it doesn't matter how much you care, they will still continue. :(

I know this is an old post, but Ive also been touched by drink driving incidents.. In year 8, a very close friend was thrown from the car coz she didnt have a belt on and died on impact.. Then in year 11 a friend from another school was riding in the back of a ute drunk and fell when it crashed, he didnt have any life threatening injuries, he died because he landed in a small amount of water and drowned because he was unconscious. I would and will never drink and drive, and will never let anybody around me do it because it is one of the most stupid things you could ever do. Not only could you be hurting yourself, but think of the others you could affect.
