Title: Why Do People Have No Respect?
MyBabyBunnies - October 23, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
This is just a rant on how inconsiderate people are now a days. Last night my brother-in-law was at a hockey game. Well they won and after the game they had decided to go for a drink. They all went in one vehicle so my BIL had parked his truck in a parking lot where they assumed it was safe (they had no had an issue with vandals in that area before).
Shortly after midnight last night, my sister gets a call from fire investigation. They had managed to track down the owner by using the plate numbers. They informed her that their truck had been found in a parking lot on fire. Well my sister panicked, when her husband and friends go out, often times it my BIL that drives so my sister was panicking wondering what had happened to him if his truck was now on fire. She got a hold of him and they rushed over to the seen.
It appears that the people had tried to steal it but had been unable to get it to go so instead they stole EVERYTHING out of it (fishing rods, a big toolbox that was in the truck bed, and tons of other things including word related stuff). When they could not steal it, they probably used the gas can (he keeps for emergencies in his toolbox which was locked) as an accelerant on the inside and lit it on fire. Well the truck is ruined. There is NOTHING left but metal, you can't even tell it was his truck. I saw the pictures and you can't even tell what you're looking at half the time.
I just don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate of people's property and do something like this.

Sounds like Juvis.
Juvis don't give a sh about other peoples stuff.
Sorry it happend. Hope they will be able to catch em..
Did the place have Cameras on the parking lot?
Maybe y'all could look at those if they do, and be able to press charges.

As I said, it was parked in a normally safe area so there was no cameras. It's not very common for there to be cameras outside unless its on an area housing a lot of equipment that's worth a lot.
They wont catch the guys, there's no way to tell who did it unless someone saw it and that's not likely considering the area was no residential, but a lot of businesses.

ohhh okay. well everywhere here there are cameras in the parking lots incase something like that happens. So I'm just used to everywhere having Cameras. Maybe they will put cameras out now.
Well it sucks that they wont catch them.

Ok, here are some pictures. Keep in mind that this truck would only have been 2 years old in November! It was still in great condition.

Now this is the front seat:

Wow that is unbelievable.
Tell your BIL I am sorry to see something like that happen to him.
You can't even go to a hockey game and have someone break in and torch your truck. How safe are our streets?
That is sad to have sick troubled people living in our city, who have nothing better to do.

Oh man that's terrible! I'm glad it was only a truck and not them in it tho!
I don't know what is wrong with people these days :(

What a nightmare?!
We've had our car stolen and driven into then the person ran off... so I understand where you're coming from. <_< The thing is, even though it's not his fault, it'll still go down as a fault claim on his insurance. That *really* hacks me off. Coz of course, we all leave our cars there on purpose to be stolen.
