Ahhh!!!

So I volunteered to be on the Rabbit Royalty Committee. This committee writes the royalty tests- types them up and gets copies made, finds 2 interviewers and makes up the questions to be asked, gets tiaras, hats and sashess.

Okay so what have I done so far for this committee?

Purchased the Tiaras (was payed back)
Hats and Sashes were donated by the regular donors
Found 1 interviewer
Typing up the Royalty tests and getting them copied (will get the cost covered for the copies)
Typing up the Interview questions and getting those copied.


Is this sounding like a one person committee? Sure is! We had a meeting to decide what questions to ask and that's all the others have done.

So I was told that the one lady was going to find an interviewer. Has she found one? NO! So here I sit 6 days before the contest and have 1 interviewer because the other committee member didn't tell me till Thursday that she couldn't find anyone. So Friday I called a fellow advisor in my club and asked her if her daughter could find someone from work. Today I found out that no one wants to come to the fair just for the interviewing contest because the price of gas. So my interviewer that I got gave me some phone numbers of some people she has contacting to see if they would be intrested.

Here I am a first year advisor and getting stuck with the biggest contest for fair. The kids LOVE the royalty contests and these kids represent the whole barn for the week.

Sorry just had to rant on it.... I volunteered to be on the committee...not to do ALL the work!

Yep, that's how people do - you have to get on them and say "NO!" sometimes. If they can dump on someone - they will - you are the newbie - you get it. :angry:

I know and they are wearing me out to the point I don't wanna volunteer anymore. :???:

Ugghh! It's August 14th and I still don't have a second interviewer! I called this women that my cousin had contacted asking if she would be intrested in doing this activity. She said sure that my cousin could give me her number so she did. Well, Mom saw this lady at church yesterday and she told mom to have me call her today in the early afternoon. So I did.... when I called she said she forgot to ask her husband if he'd watch the kids (there's 6 of 'em). So she's going to talk to her husband and call me back before I go to college at 5:30 or when I get back about 9. She better call me as she said she'd call me. Honestly it's not looking too promising right now.

When is the contest? August 18th! Ohhh.. this is so fusterating!

LOL! When I was walking out the door to go to work the lady I called first returned my call. She's still intrested and I informed the lady I got second that I was still waiting for a call but it wasn't looking promising. The second lady I called just happens to be Tangela's sister so she understood I was getting a secure backup. ;) So tomorrow morning before I had to work I've gotta call both Velvet (second lady) and Sandy(first lady) back and tell Sandy she can go ahead and be an interviewer. :D Velvet was iffy but said yes because we are somewhat family. Tangela is Darrell's wife... Darrell is my mom's first cousin and my grandpa's brother's son. Velvet, Tangela's sister is living in my grandma's parent's house. Man that makes us sound like we are from Kentucky LOL! :ph43r:
