Title: Bad news.
rabbitrae - April 26, 2005 09:55 AM (GMT)
Those of you who remember me from the old RV remember dogs killing my rabbits before. Well any way the dog was back. Killed three more. Total now is 6 gone. We even put a gate in front of the cages! He some how pushed it open. Busted up my who shed including cages and tools. But the good thing is we caught him in the act! He will no longer be killing my bunnies!!!! And another good thing He had busted into one cage but the rabbit got away! She is safe and sound thank goodness. But I'm bummed about my others. RIP Alainie, Miss Nelly, Stinker, Hershy, Big Mac and Jill. At least the rest of my bunnies are safe. :(
Miss Nelly My first bunny.

Jill

Big Mac

Stinker

Hershy

Alainie is on the Left and Patches is the one on the right Patches is the one that got away.

This is just awful :( So sad you've had to go through that twice. (Good that you caught the dog).
Go pet all your other bunnies for me, I'm sure all of you could use a little soothing. Hope you all feel better soon.
They were all precious. Its good that you have such nice pics to remember them by.
Sorry for your loss.

No collar on him. He seemed wild he just stared at you didn't growl, wag tail or nothing. Very Creepy. Good thing I didn't just burst into my shed or he could of hurt me! Thats what scared me the most.
Bo B Bunny - April 26, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)
That is scary :( We have cayote. That's why hubby doesn't want an outside hutch. We'll get some bunnies in a barn one day. Hopefully soon.
I don't like that he got inside... how did he manage that?

Pushed it. He must of been very strong and determined. I even have a hard time opening it. We have bungie cords going across. He did an even worse job on my metal cages they were all bent up and the pans were everywhere. It was a mess.
:( :( :( :( :(

Coyotes usually don't come near houses. Unless you live in the woods away from everybody. I have Coyotes too. But They don't bother me they are more scared of us then we are of them. Thank goodness. I think the dog was mabey a stray that bred with a coyote. But the funny thing was he wasn't hungry he just crunched my rabbits just to kill.

I'm so sorry...how horrible for you to have to go through that twice! I really wish people would be responsible for their pets, especially dogs and cats. People think it's their god-given right to let their pets roam wherever they want. My Uncle has lost several chickens, a peacock and his baby, hand-raised Pygmy goat to the neighbors dog who they are too lazy to chain up. It's so sad.
How did he break into the wire cages? I don't see how thats possible but I guess if he was determined enough...they seem so secure though, at least I hope they would be. =(
Debbie_blueyes - May 18, 2005 12:23 PM (GMT)
how are you holding out rabbitrae? I was thinking of you
Deb
JimD - May 18, 2005 12:30 PM (GMT)

you ok?
Delphinum - May 18, 2005 02:58 PM (GMT)
I know, it's so awful... we put up the pictures on the banner as a kind of tribute to them... I hope you don't mind. :(

Oh NO GUYs! I saw another black dog today in my yard!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soo scared! :( :( :( :(
Kismet - June 18, 2005 02:11 AM (GMT)
Can you set a live trap for it? Or temporarily reinforce your shed so he can't break in?
rabbitrae - June 18, 2005 03:14 PM (GMT)
I've bungie corded a fence to my shed. I checked this morning and everybody was fine they seemed a little spooked though.
mrose_s - July 17, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)

Thank you for your sympathy Lissa
rabbitrae - July 18, 2005 06:07 PM (GMT)
I think dog #2 is back the fence was pulled back as far a the bungi cords would let but not big enough for a dog to fit through and there are fresh scrape marks on the cages. And something tore into the play pen. I hope its not a dog :(
Lanna - July 18, 2005 06:25 PM (GMT)
:( Me too. Do you have a BB gun? I know some people wont agree with me or find this mean but after Precious was killed this was the only way I could keep the dogs out of my yard.
I used my son's low powered BB gun and everytime I saw a dog in the yard I popped them. After a while the dogs just learned that they would get "stung" if they came here. I dont have to do anything anymore...the dogs will go all the way around my yard!
rabbitrae - July 18, 2005 09:32 PM (GMT)
Did you actually shoot at them?
