Title: Bad Bunny Mom!
MyBabyBunnies - April 26, 2006 03:04 AM (GMT)
I feel so bad! Spice has been really moody the last few days so much that he sees me and runs into his box. The first day I attributed it to him just being moody since all bunnies have off days just like us.
Well the next day he was still acting mad and if I so much as came out of the house, he hid. I was completely lost at why he was acting like that and to be honest it was making me feel really bad.
That night, as I was falling to sleep, it hit me. Ever since Zoey got spayed I've been concentrating solely on her to make sure she was improving, comfortable, and happy. Well Spice hates Zoey as it is but he was not getting any attention and Zoey was getting it all and Mocha benefitted from being housed right next to Zoey and shared in the attention from me. I realised that Spice really was mad at me for not giving him his fair share of attention.
You have no idea how bad it feels to suddenly realise you ignored one bunny for a few days. I was feeling so bad last night that today I made sure I put him outside to run and sat with him. I think I pet him for close to an hour and what do you know? Spice is back to his normal, happy self.
Yesterday he wouldn't even look at me but today after that, he was constantly trying to give me "kisses" (putting his nose to my lips, him and Mocha both do that, not sure why, LOL). None the less, I learned my lesson and I wont do it again. Poor Spicers.

I can SO relate to this! I'm contantly having to balance my bunny love or risk ending up faced with bunny butt :butt:, bites (Dill) and foot flicks! (With Pipp, it's worse, she'll go after whoever's getting the attention and make a good stab at ripping them to shreds before taking a nip out of my foot).
Better be nice to Spice!!
sas :D and the warren :happybun: :tiny: :spice: :gabshouse:
Bo B Bunny - April 26, 2006 12:38 PM (GMT)
I had something like that going on here, but I got the "pity look" from Bo.
Clover and all of the stuff with the horses has taken a lot of my time and he hadn't had his "SPA DAY" as Lexi calls it. We usually brush him and pet him and love him while he's on my shoulder for about an hour each week at least one time. He hadn't done that in like 2 weeks! So, I held him and he flopped all the way, legs out and just purred like crazy!
I felt awful too - I love my Bo!

I never had an issue balancing Mocha and Spice before, it was really easy but ever since I got Zoey I've been spending so much time with her to ensure that she turns out to be as friendly as Mocha and Spice. Mocha is pretty easy going and is happy as long as he gets fed, not to mention he has contact with Zoey through the wire so he does have some company. But Spice is not easy going, things have to be his way or no way. Mocha doesn't hold a grudge while Spice does, I knew that before I got a third bunny.
Now that I realise what I did, I wont do it again. My poor baby Spicers. I just went out to feed him and he is his normal happy self again, he was back to his usual antics of trying to climb out of his cage to get my attention instead of running away like he's done for the last week.

Aww..luckily he prabably won't remember it. It's a mistake anyone can make. Lol..I realized I did the same with my children last week. My girl fell and got stitches, and her twin brother was a GRUMP for days, until I realized he prabably felt left out from the extra attention she was getting. Extra time on mommies lap and he was fine!

I realized I was ignoring Leo for Luke because Luke has a much sweeter despesition. But thats no reason to ignore him. So I felt so bad and gave him a banana this morning. And tonight Im just going to hold him and pet him and love him and he's going to hate me because of it but I feel so bad that all I do is hold Luke and pet Luke and never Leo!!

Now that Zoey is on the mend, and soon to be bonded with Mocha ___
....... maybe Spice could get a bunny companion too. :innocent:
MyBabyBunnies - April 26, 2006 09:33 PM (GMT)
 Yeah right. Spice hates other rabbits except Mocha and even then he only likes Mocha on the other side of the fence. People claim their are some unbondable rabbits and I think Spice is one of them.

If people could see me sometimes......... :innocent:
I was on the floor today and had Bo out. He was going all around and hiding behind baskets that I had folded laundry in - he would come out and look at me as if to say "I'm not coming any closer" .......
I'd say "I'm gonna get da bunnyyyyyyy..." and he'd fly into the air and take off.
If I booped his butt, he'd come back and "ram" me - so mean like that when he got to me I got bunny kisses and nose bumps along with a couple of chinnings LOL!
He really enjoyed his mommy time today. I have to admit, I did too :D

You would never know Spice was ever mad at me. He is completely back to his lovable self and went back to his "run away and binky when mom comes to put you back in your hutch" game. It's adorable, LOL.
I'm glad you enjoyed Bo time and I know he sure did!
I can't pick a favorite in my 3, they are all so unique but equally friendly. It's just that baby look all lops have really suckered me in! But I have to say, Spice with both ears up and forward is one o fhte cutest things I've ever seen and he knows it!
