Title: She is so lucky to be alive!

Cinnabun - April 4, 2006 06:06 AM (GMT)
boy am i so ANGRY at Cinnamen.. i trusted her to run around my room.. i blocked off certain areas i didnt want her around.. and somehow she got pasded it and she starts chewing on the fish tank Filter.. that my goldfish need to breath.. i didnt know why at first why it wasnt working.. so i took it apart and cleaned it out. and then i go to plug it back in i started to feel some rough edges.. and She TOTALLY chewed the wire.. i showed my brother and he said she's lucky to be alive right now. so now since the Bettas dont need it to breath, i moved the Goldfish downstairs to my moms tank. and the bigger goldfish doesnt seem to be doing so well.. i am jsut so mad at Cinnamen right now! i've been up for over an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with it.

she's not allowed any treats or anything for awhile right now.. just her water, and her regular food. and once i get money i'm going out to buy Bitter Apple stuff..

She was SO GOOD at not chewing on ANYTHING.. (carpet, and wires) she chewed the carpet ONCE, and i cought her, so i pushed her head down and yelled NO... she stopped with that. and now its wire.. i took her out of her pen, and started to yell at her. i jsut cant believe her right now. i'm so mad.. i NEVER had to go through with this with Bugs or Missey.. i'm sticking with Hollands from now on. i know them the best since i've had two, and i've had one for 9 years. and she was my everything! and now, i just ugh! i'm so mad.. if my fish die.. esp my bigger goldfish.. i am seriously going to be so angry at her!

Lissa - April 4, 2006 12:49 PM (GMT)
Naughty Cinn!!

Bo B Bunny - April 4, 2006 03:02 PM (GMT)
I don't trust Bo around anything like that alone. It's just too tempting to their natural instincts.

I'm glad she's ok tho.

Cinnabun - April 4, 2006 07:19 PM (GMT)
my brought home more boxes for me to add onto her box house, but she wont be playing in them today atleast..

i've never had to go through all the stuff she's doing before, so all of this is so new to me. i thought all rabbits would be like Hollands.. since all the Hollands i knew were VERY sweet.

i'm still mad at her. and my fish are still alive so she is very lucky!

Bo B Bunny - April 4, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
Cinn, you need to think of this as a baby person. If you left one in a room with cords, and hot things, etc., they don't know any better. Bunnies don't know NOT to chew things. It's their nature. She wasn't wrong - you were. You should have bunny proofed before leaving her in there. That's true for any animal and where they are kept. Dakota got ahold of a cord from a lamp that someone hadn't tied up after unplugging it. He ruined the lamp. I wasn't mad nor were they. It was their fault.

Just strip the wires and tape them back together.

Exactly! and then put something over them. I have used the cable covers for auto electrical stuff, and other various things to cover or strategically place things to keep Bo from getting to them.

Cinnabun - April 4, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
i know, my dad is doing that now. i was gonna do it last night but i didnt know were it was, and i was tired from being up till 3 in the morning trying to fix it.

she's not running around in my room any more.

MyBabyBunnies - April 4, 2006 10:46 PM (GMT)
You've got the wrong impression of Hollands, they are NOT perfect little angels either. Just like any other bunny, they will dig and chew and bite and what not. Generally they have a friendlier personality but if none of your other rabbits did the stuff Cinn does, you were just lucky.

You can't punish her for your mistakes. It's not her fault the room wasn't bunny proofed. I've had Spice chew cords and eat holes in my blanket but I've never actually been mad at him for it, after all, it's just natural.

I think it's best that you stop comparing Cinn to your previous rabbits, it's not fair to her.

Cinnabun - April 4, 2006 11:28 PM (GMT)
okay first off,
i've been around A LOT of Hollands, my best friend used to breed them. and ALL of them were VERY sweet, and they NEVER did anything wrong either.

and its NOT my fault she did it. she somehow got past the area i had blocked off, the other areas i have blocked off she NEVER went past.

and like i said before, she NEVER chewed on ANYTHING.. i cought her ONCE chewing on the carpet, and i pushed her head to the ground and yell No, and she NEVER did it again.

but i guess i am sorry that i'm not the richest person in the world to spend money on such stuff to rabbit proof a room, when she will eventually be put outside.

and thats what you get with me, when my baby died a year and 6 months ago. and i'm still not over her death.

Bo B Bunny - April 4, 2006 11:37 PM (GMT)
Cinn, part of being a pet owner is to be responsible. It isn't Cinn's fault she was able to get to the cords. She's not at fault at all other than MOST bunnies will chew things. Even Bo has eaten a recharger cord from the kids' games.

If you don't have the money to take care of Cinny, why would you even THINK of getting another animal?

You may know sweet Hollands, but all bunnies are bunnies. Opie bit the pants out of Lexi when we had him here and he's a doll.

Animals only know their instincts. Yes, we can teach them some things but most things are instinct for bunnies.

Nothing has to do with your bunny that died before. Cinny isn't her and you really have to deal with the pet you have. You can miss Missy, but still, Cinny is dependant on you and you have to take care of her.

Cinnabun - April 5, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
when i got her i had over 300.00 from Birthday AND christmas money. and babysitting.
i am getting a job soon. i was just saying i don't have the money to waste on things like that. But i will soon since my last day of school is May 26th, (thankgod for being a Sr!) and i am getting a job soon.

i just wish she was like Missey, it would make it a heck of a lot easier on the both of us.

and part of the reason i compare her is because i don't want to get close to her, i am pulling myself away from my pets (expect for Buster since he's the oldest one here) because i got hurt so badly when Missey died. and because of that fact that i still cry, becasue the day Missey died is so fresh in my head and it happend 1 year and 6 months ago. i know it's not fair to her, but thats jsut the way i am. i'll get over it soon, and well will be good again..

and i'm not saying i didnt cry when my brother told me she was lucky to be alive. because i did. the thought of Missey's death came back to me, and how painful it still is. i CAN'T deal with it again.

Bo B Bunny - April 5, 2006 12:33 AM (GMT)
I understand. Just try to remember she depends on you. Don't get mad at her just try to help her. I know how it is tho. Bo gets past things I can't believe!! I find him in the worst things sometimes! We watch him like a hawk!

MyBunnyLovesMe - April 5, 2006 01:43 AM (GMT)
Maggie chewed through our internet cable and we had no 'net for like a week <_<

So we attached all the wires to the ceiling so she couldn't get to them  .

Peppy hasn't chewed anything yet, but that doesn't mean he won't.

I let him run around my room all the time and my computer wires are hanging everywhere but he never really goes there, but when he does I just yell "HEY! GET OUTTA THERE!!!" really loud and he runs lol. He's so cute, I love him!

Anyway, don't be mad at Cinny, she's just a normal bun! At least she tries to chew other stuff and not you..... Samson bit me so much I couldn't hold him ... <_<

Delphinum - April 5, 2006 09:35 AM (GMT)
We did the same as Michelle. Except it wasn't the bunnies who chewed the internet wire, it was Carrie! <_< Not saying the bunnies wouldn't, because they would and they have... but we put things like teddies and waste paper baskets in the way of the wires to stop them getting at the wires when we let them out.
Max is the worst when it comes to wires, she'll scale piles of teddies and bags to get to them. A swift "Max!" gets her attention then a little pat to go the other way usually stops her... for 3 seconds anyway...
Yesterday I wasn't watching when Henry and Max were out (was on the phone to my gran) and Henry went downstairs, found the new bag of rabbit food I'd just brought in and bit a huge hole in the bottom of it! He had a great time munching his way through the pellets! <_< Lucky we have nothing for him to ruin as everything we have has already been ruined by dogs or rabbits! <_<

bluebird - April 5, 2006 12:46 PM (GMT)
all holland are not angels,i raised them for many years.I had some that were hyper and nasty.there is no such thing as a perfect breed.any breed has its bad apples.bluebird

Kismet - April 5, 2006 01:12 PM (GMT)
I agree, I have had some completely obnoxious Hollands (and met some that were even worse) just destructive little buggers, not mean (well, one was) but just nuts in general. lol

Cinnabun - April 5, 2006 07:55 PM (GMT)
i think i was way over reacting because of my PMS.. sorry, LOL.. i get angry over the littlest thing.. i was just abotu to go out and choke my brother for hitting this tennis ball agasint my door when i was sleeping.. LOL and i threw water, at him and then i threw the water bottle and aimed for his face, because he wouldnt stop bugging me. LOL

but really the hollands i've met you all should have met.. because they were the sweetest things!

bugs name when i got him was Curious Cornilies (sp on the last name) because i guess he was curious.. lol

Wooligans - April 5, 2006 10:42 PM (GMT)
 I get really bad PMS too. It really sucks! :(

Cinnabun - April 5, 2006 10:50 PM (GMT)
yeah it does :( lol

Love4Lops - April 5, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
Ahhh, I'm glad Cinn is alright! If you can't cover all the chords, you could buy some chicken wire to put around the areas with chords while she is running around.

Like others said, not all Hollands are angelic. I have living proof. <_< Right now I have a cut on my ring finger from where Sunny bit me when I was trying to feed him. He's bit my mom before also...but getting mad at him isn't going to help him or myself, it just isn't worth the stress. Doesn't he know not to bite the hand that feeds him?? Literally, lol.

Cinnabun - April 5, 2006 11:55 PM (GMT)
she just gonna run around in the Kitchen from now on.

both my Hollands were like dogs.. it was so funny.. Bugs mostly. because he LOVED his Belly rubbed. i remember saturday mornings when he'd be running around in the kitchen, my mom would be talking to her cousin on the phone, and Bugs would be laying underneath her feet, and my mom would be rubbing is belly, he just layed there for hours. lol. Bugs only bit me once, and that was because i had just gotten home from a soccer game, and i held another male rabbit and i didnt wash afterwards.
Missey never bit me..

before we let Bugs and Missey run around the backyard without leashes, and harnesses. we had a run with grass (this was before Missey was born) and i would be outside with Bugs, from morning to night. and i even slept out there with him.

bugs was ALWAYS happy to see my mom or I. whenever i sat down. he'd come running up to me, and then he'd jump in my lap for pets.

and Missey let me hold her anyway i wanted to. i would often hold her like a baby. and she loved it when i did that. she didnt like anyone eles to hold her like a baby. but me.

I just don't leave Bo alone. I know a lot of people do but we can't.

I keep telling hubby if we can get a farmhouse with a nice big all season room, I want to tile it all over the floor and halfway up the walls. Have electical outlets up high and a suspended television, fold up furniture or iron stuff. Guess who's room that would be?! :happybun:

It wouldn't take PMS for me to choke him for that.....

but I also have it bad and really I take medicine for that severe form. I used to like ..... nearly have a nervous breakdown each month!

MyBunnyLovesMe - April 6, 2006 06:38 AM (GMT)
Maggie's room has boards about 10 inches up the wall so she can't get any wires or chew the baseboards anymore.... <_<
