Hey, I put the nestbox in for Opal a few hours ago and I went down to check on her and guess what? She's decided to make her nest between the nestbox and the plastic wall of her cage.... How that makes sense I dont know...lol. But oh well she's the one with the babies in her tummy ( which is definately showing by the way! ) But yea, just thought i'd tell ya'll i have a non-appreciative-nestbox bunny! lol.

Maybe you should remove the fur place it in the nest box and move the nest box to wear the fur was.

Hey, she hasn't pulled fur yet she's just making a nest out of hay.

Yep, I have some does that do that. Drives me insane! I would push the nestbox to where she is building the nest. Sometimes they catch on, sometimes they don't. Some does insist on kindling outside the box, then as soon as the babies are born I move everything in the box.

Well...shes kinda done making it now i think...so should i try to pick it up and move it in the nestbox( if i can without destroying it) and put the nestbox where it was? Oh, and i have another question, she seems to be really inactive today, and she has hardly touched her food that i gave her last night, which is relly odd because she has been food crazy lately. Anyways, is this typical behavior for a doe thats 3 days off of her due date? Thanks for all the replies!

Any behavioural change is usually a good sign that she will have the kits soon. Of course if she continues not to eat you, make sure she is at least pooping and drinking. Otherwise she needs to see a vet to make sure everything is ok. I would move the nest into the nestbox. If she still refuses to use it then lett her have it her way intill she has them and then place them all in the box. Pictures???

Hey, i went down there and she picking at her food some. Most active she's been all day. But anyways, I moved her nest into her box...didnt work to well but i tried to make it look like it did. I feel bad becuase she spent about an our making it....but oh well w/e is better for her kits. She's been drinking water and pooping so I guess she's ok and its just the babies are comming soon( :P )
Anyways, heres a pic of her

I can send one of my bucks to fix the nest, he's amazingly talented at it. I let him into my doe's cage to build her a nest before the cold weather hit.
