Title: Religion

These are the major ones I can think of. If I forgot any, I'm really sorry!!!

Religion has always interested me, so I wanted to see how many different religions we have here. :)

BTW, I was raised Catholic but my family does not agree with everything the Catholic Church says. We are just Christian.

Christian!

I am an agnostic raised by a very Christan family. They refuse to accept it, so I am forced to go to a Baptist Church every Sunday. But hey, whatever makes them happy.

I was raised in a non-churched (sometimes a little nazarene church was home) but Christian family. My great-grandpa was a baptist deacon. My mom teased me that he was "rolling in his grave" when I joined the Catholic Church.

I don't agree with EVERYTHING any church does/says/etc. Nothing is perfect in any of them. I just like the Catholic church and a lot of the beliefs are similar if not the same as mine.

Right now, I'm sort of not going to Mass tho. I think it's time to get my daughter out of the school there - it's become a conflict of interest. <_<

I'm Lutheran (Prodestant) but I'm not being raised with the church as a major part of my life. We used to attend church but no longer do. It has to do with the fact that my mom was never raised to be very religious either so she didn't think we should be either but htat's not to say I don't have my beliefs.

Eastern Orthodox :) (technically, still an inquirer, but I'm getting there)

I was raised Protestant, my dad is a retiring nondenominational minister. At the moment, my family is considering moving to the Anglican church, and my younger sister has expressed an interest in coming to my church :D

I belong to the Mormon (LDS) church. I was raised Mormon and still believe most if not all of their teachings. :) My husband does not go to any church but does believe in God. I admit that I haven't been going very much lately but that is because I am just lazy and want to sleep in on Sundays. :bag:

I suppose I'm agnostic... My dad's side is Catholic and Athiest, my mother's (if you can call her that) is Protestant. They raised me to have no religion so that we could choose what we wanted to be later... I still choose none! :D
There's a lot of sectarianism in the town I grew up in so I hated religion and what some people do with it... and despite my teacher's try at indoctrinating us (C S Lewis and Scripture Union shoved down our throats among other things), I still need proof either way. :)

My situation is pretty similar to Ang's. My father was raised Catholic, and my mother was raised Buddhist. I was raised pretty much without religion because of that potential conflict. I wouldn't say that I was atheist or agnostic, though. I don't know how I would classify myself.

Wooligans - January 10, 2006 10:55 PM (GMT)
Atheist

I was raised Catholic (baptized, communion, confirmation), but for certain reasons I do not attend church anymore. I believe there are other ways to practice my religion without having to go to church. Maybe you can say I'm Christain now...
