Title: Hello from Texas
Description: Just checking in / introducing ourselves

TinysMom - December 28, 2005 01:17 PM (GMT)
Hello from Southwest Texas. My name is Peg and I breed lionheads - but my "heartbunny" is a black Flemish Giant neutered buck named "Tiny". He just turned a year old this last week and he is spoiled rotten. He has me trained to give him bananas if I want him to come in from outside (our yard is fully enclosed) and he has almost free run of the house and back yard.

He has two lionhead does he likes to snuggle with at times ~ Miss Bea, my harlequin "herd mama" and GingerSpice - another lionhead doe he likes a lot too. Both girls have "almost" run of the house sometimes - so when he's in the living room- he snuggles w/ Miss Bea and when he is in our bedroom - he snuggles with Ginger.

He has the nickname of "The BunFather" because when the babies are out playing - he likes to watch over them and let them crawl all over him (sometimes). He has also been known to get between rabbits who are acting like they're going to fight...and with his large girth - they decide to back off and go play.

We also have Tio & Kyo as pets (neutered Netherland dwarf littermate bucks that do NOT get along) and Puck - our Holland lop. If I could bottle Puck's energy I think I could make millions off it...when he has playtime he certainly keeps me running.

Anyway - besides my lionheads (who are also my babies) - and the other residents of this house (my honey Art, our college kids Eric & Robin who are currently home for break, and our other pets)...that's US!

:innocent:

Well....except for the babies that are in the process of being born or due today!

Oh - I'm a stay at home wife/mom and the rabbits ARE my job.....along with being a hobby.

Peg

Hey!! Welcome to the boards!!

I love Texas, well, I've never been there, lol but the Southern Accents and cowboy stuff is so cute!! (unless that's just a stereotype, then I apologize!)

I'm from Alberta, cowtown Canada :P Lots of cowboys out here...and cows.. :P

Lionheads are very cute!

I have two muttbunnies, they might not be ribbonwinners, but they're cute as can be in my eyes.

They're names are Peppy and Maggie, you can find pictures of them in the pictures forum!

Welcome again! Post pics of your buns!! :D

Which rabbits are DUE? :gabshouse:

Please remember as I answer you that I am a "breeder" and that I am breeding already for lionhead Nationals in May of 2006. I also will be selling my rabbits on my website (I don't dump them at humane societies, etc) and I'm working with purebreds - and planned breedings - ok?

It's almost easier to tell you who isn't due...but here goes.

Recent litters (less than a week old):

Prideland's Lava - a black double mane (dm) doe that carriers the dilute gene - 3 jet black babies and one tort

El Rey's Ainsley (may become renamed for a more "Russian name") - long story - 6 babies - all of which will be chocolate carriers - Ainsley is sable point and dad is a lilac!

Buffalo Creek's Stella (badly colored tort double mane mama)- 6 babies all of which look like they'll be tort like mama

Buffalo Creek's Delta (blue doe) - 5 babies - not sure yet what I have there

CURRENTLY DUE (or slightly overdue):

Kim - black otter doe

Bo - blue otter doe

Sweetheart - black doe (Lava's daughter from a way earlier litter)

Cocoa - dying to see this one - she's chocolate and the buck is lilac...should all be lilacs and chocolates we think

DJ's Mona Kea - tort

Island's Titania - blue tort

Little May's Summer - tort

Buffalo Creek's Sundae - broken tort

El Rey's Scotty - black

Buffalo Creek's Matilda - chestnut doe that throws harlequin babies

DUE NEXT WEEK:

Lovey - black otter

Harlie - harlequin

AFter that - no more litters due for a while! :innocent:

I like to breed several together at the same time so I can stay up all night and be available...and hopefully have them all kindle within 48 hours or so....so I can foster if need be!

Peg
