I really like this thread!
I think if someone new came on and wanted to identify some breeds we have a good start for them! I hope everyone continues to post their rabbits with the breed!

yeah, i guess. Harlequin mini rex are common but they are usually japanese (orange and black or whatever). Heres what happened with nepo: someone bred a chinchilla to a tri color or a japanese harlequin. LOL like it matters! all that matters is that you have one very cute rabbit!
Adrienne - April 21, 2005 05:56 PM (GMT)
Here's Fergi!

Here's Diva!

Here's Samara!

Fergi is two and is a mini-lop
Samara is five months and is a mini-lop/flemish giant mix
Diva is seven months and is a flemish giant
Bo B Bunny - April 21, 2005 06:32 PM (GMT)
I love those pics! Diva is huge! How much does she weigh? how long are her ears?
Gunner is already a big boy too! (yes I saw that at the bottom lol!)
Adrienne - April 21, 2005 06:40 PM (GMT)
Diva weighs 17lbs according to my scale, at the vets she weighed 22lbs (I am positive theirs is off!) I haven't measured her ears lately so I will do that later tonight. She is a big girl but a big love too!
Gunnar is getting huge! 31lbs at 3 1/2 months, here he is in comparison to a hay bale...this was about two weeks ago. He's so awesome I am very pleased with him!
Bo B Bunny - April 21, 2005 06:44 PM (GMT)
OMG Diva is HUGE and I can't wait to hear her ear length!
Gunnar is beautiful! He has some big paws! he's going to be a big boy! He looks very sweet. How is his personality? does he do well with the bunnies or is he around them?
bumperbunny - April 22, 2005 04:40 AM (GMT)
AWW your rabbits are AWESOME! i love the coloring on them all!

I love my big bunny boy - April 30, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
I have a 34 pound Checkered Giant, Summer. He's 2 years old now..

And my 1 month old baby, Thumper! He's a Rex/Newzealand Dwarf..
Vanessa - May 2, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
Woah! Summer is 34 pounds? I didn't know that!
I have a 6 month old standard rex named Cosmo:

And a 1 and a half year old mini lop named Willow, I adopted her from the humane society:

Sorry if the pics are huge!
Bo B Bunny - May 2, 2005 10:55 PM (GMT)
Summer's a good sized boy! I'd love to hold him. Is he really sweet and gentle? does he love to be held or not?
I love my big bunny boy - May 2, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
Yes, I call Summer my gental giant! :D lol He's a mommies boy. If I put him on the ground to run around, and sit down, he will jump up on my lap, and put his head under my chin. SO cute :) Also, if you brush him he will love you forever! :P
Emily - May 18, 2005 01:17 PM (GMT)
If Summer is as big as you say he is (and I am a bit skeptical), then you realize that you have one of the world's largest rabbits B)
As for myself, I have a black Mini Rex, male(n), named Rex Robert Harrison (also goes by Sexy Rexy and Reximus Handsomus). His best buddy is a fawn Mini Lop-mix, female(s), named Peanut Divamuffin (aka Pinochle or Peanut! :P)
Dwarf_Angel04 - May 18, 2005 02:43 PM (GMT)
I raise and show Dwarf Hotots and starting in Polish. I also have 2 Netherland Dwarfs that I kept from when I was raising them. They aren't homegrown but are my 'babies'.
Ya can check them out at my rabbitry website (see my signature) however it hasn't been updated in 5 months! :innocent: I am in the process if redoing the site tho!
Lanna - May 18, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
I guess I can add Flemish Giant to my list. :D
So now I have:
A dutch mix
Netherland dwarf

Flemish giant

sooooo.... when are you going to add Dwarf Hotots or Polish to your list? :innocent:
Lanna - May 18, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
I couldnt find any polish here if I wanted to. I've never even seen any at the shows here.
Dwarf Hotots I've seen. I would love to get one, or a pair, but Kaitlyn is deathly afraid of them. The eyeband scares her. She says they look like devil bunnies.
bumperbunny - May 20, 2005 06:21 AM (GMT)
sry i meant to post in another thread
Kismet - May 28, 2005 12:20 PM (GMT)
I have mostly American Fuzzy Lops, then a pet English Lop and my sister has a Himalayan for 4-H but I paid for him, pay for his feed and cage and take care of him so you could count him as mine. ;) He's such a goofball.
We're moving soon because of my Dad's job and I can't take all my bunnies, we don't have room to take everyone (especially some of my huge pets) so I had to limit myself to my breeding/showing animals only and one pet/showmanship bunny (my English Lop)...at the last show, I had to sell my beloved Flemish Giant, Havana and Mini Rex from when I just started rabbits, it was very hard but it was for the best, I couldn't give them nearly as much attention as they deserved. My first show bunny, a Mini Rex, will be going to live at my best friends house when we move (he's still here for now) and the Holland Lops are waiting to be picked up. Wah :(
bunnihun - June 3, 2005 06:11 PM (GMT)
Still not sure if Ruby is a Californian or a Himalaya? See pic.
Is it just the size/weight, I suppose she could be a mixture.
What distinguishes the two breeds?
