Title: Life After Death
Description: what happens?

Love4Lops - July 14, 2005 04:03 AM (GMT)
Such a confusing and kind of scary subject, because it is so mysterious and little is known about it...most of what we "know" is based upon faith.

But I am being curious as always, and want to know what you all think is waiting at the other side. I'm not talking about just the Rainbow Bridge - but human "afterlife". Do you think there is a heaven/some sort of paradise? I've heard before that some people think when we die we see our whole life flashing before our eyes...hmm...

Oh, and do you believe in reincarnation? Like dying but coming back as something else?

I think there definitely is a Heaven and I believe that we do see a replay of our own life. Dying scares me but then I think Heaven must be a beautiful and happy place where no one ever wants to leave. And about reincarnation...I don't think that when you die you automatically live again as something else. Maybe if you haven't learned what you were supposed to, or experienced something you needed to, *then* maybe you come back...but I'm still not 100% sure I believe that.

Another thing that kind of freaks me out is how you go on forever when you die (at least I think so)...time never stops. When I think about it I get that going-down-a-hill-on-a-rollercoaster feeling.

I know I shouldn't think about death and just focus on life but I am so curious.

I believe in Heaven and H*ll. I personally believe I will be going to Heaven, but that decision simply isn't up to me, and I really don't feel comfortable speculating about where someone else is going. That is between them and God.

As far as an "afterlife", I believe that we will live together with God, Jesus, and other believers in Heaven. The Bible also references a New Earth, which would be a recreation of the Garden of Eden, perfect in every sense. I don't just believe in life after death, I look forward to it.

I believe there is something. What, I don't know...
However when I was in a coma, it wasn't like there was anything around... it was just black, I don't remember much, but when I was starting to come to, everything was white and I remember kind of dreaming about what was around me when I did come round eventually I was screaming for my dad (which is what I'd dreamed too). The light I saw when I came to is what I think is the 'white light' that people in near death situations see... only from what I've experienced myself.
But I didn't die, so I can't be sure... there's only one way to be sure and whilst I'm still alive, I don't see much point in preparing for when I'm not... live for today and all that... :)

I have a hard time looking at this as a 'religious' issue. I don't believe in religion. Religion was created by man to control man. BUT, I do believe in creation and 'programming' (for lack of a better word).

I don't think life is a linear concept (beginning-middle-end). We and everything around us can pretty much be brought down to one common denominator: Energy. And this energy isn't starting today and gone tomorrow.

Therefore I believe we are, always have been, and always will be-here, in whatever form.

I honestly haven't given the "afterlife" much thought. When I die I die.. and I am not worried about it until then. I am not religious and do not expect to be greeted by God or the Devil.. I don't know what is after death and frankly I don't care. I don't let the thought of it control my life.. what happens.. well.. happens.

As far as reincarnation goes.. I think it is very much possible.. and from my personal experiences I think it might be very likley. But that is just me.

Ive been very close to death on many occasions. More than I would have liked. Before any of those experiences I worried quite a bit about what may happen after death and what "life after death" really was. Since then, it doesnt really cross my mind.

During the times when I almost didnt make it...death was actually the last thing on my mind. Do I believe there's life after death? In some form, yes. What form that is....I dont know. But I know I wont spend one "living" moment worried about what happens after I die. We'll all know what happens one day. I just plan to enjoy life while I'm living and worry about death after it happens.

I'm 17, there's too much life left for me to worry about death.

I believe in god but I'm not super religious. To believe in a religion is to give people peace of mind when loved ones pass and helps dissolve the fear of death.

I don't know if I believe in life after death, maybe there is such a thing. Same goes with reincarnation. I think if a person doesn't live their life completely or ends it too soon, then they are reincarnated to complete their unfinished life.

Those are just my opinions though.

I think the world is too complex to have been atoms coliding to create everything in it.

I know the feeling! its just sorta...weird. My dad is a pastor, and a joke he uses occasionally when someone does something small to help at church he'll "award" them "two extra days of eternal life!" :P (not that he'd be able to do that if it was possible!)

I have no real idea what heaven will be like...the whole revelations thing kinda weirds me out...but i know that it is something to look forward to!

I agree with MBB......I'm going to live to a 100. You have to have that attitude if you're going to grow old.

I also tend to like Sunshine's thought. Energy comes from the universe. The purest form of energy is bright white light. Reminds me of the movie Ghost.

Yeah I think about that sometimes and how you'll be in heaven forever and life will never end.

When I was little my mom told me that when we were in heaven we wouldnt have to eat or brush our teeth or stuff like that, I liked the thought of that lol.

Ang your story reminds me of someththing: A long time ago like 5 years ago, my aunts husband got shot and alot of my family was there and nobody did anyhting cuz they were shocked and my mom had the guts to go and get him and get an ambulance and when he was alright he said he remembered something about the light ( I think thats so creepy!) and wanting to go to heaven instead cuz it all looked so peaceful but my aunt and my mom made him change his mind. I think thats really amazing. Also when I was 9 months old i was clinically dead for 5 mins and all I remember seeing was heaven but I dont know if that was a dream i had later on in life lol.

Back to the subject, I dont know what to beleive so i dont really think about it lol

Edit: Oh and sometimes i think how i had a life before this one and it freaks me out lol

I'm not religious, I'm more of a spiritul person.

I have had too many things in my life happen for me not to believe. The most recent being, just yesterday.

For me, we are all connected to nature, and that in itself is a very strong power.

As for reincarnation, It is very much true. I believe that in each new life we have, we are here to better ourselves, and to resolve a situation that we were not able to in the last.

Every person we meet that is special to us, we will meet in the next life too. We are bonded spiritually.

Have you ever seen someone you have never met before, but you know deep down, that you know them ?? Well it is not the person, but the soul of that person. You were connected in some way in a previous life.

Death for me, is a release from this shell that we live in - our bodies.

I don't like the word religion- to me it's about a relationship with God. I live my life to please him. Nothing could convince me He doesn't exist- but if for some reason I'm wrong? so what? I haven't missed out on much- and have lived a life full of love and happiness. I had a pastor once that said this to non-christians-- "if I'm right and you're wrong- you're going to H*ll , but if you're right and I'm wrong- I still get reincarnated as something better because i've strived to live the best life I can"

I believe in heaven and fiddlesticks- and know in my heart I will be joining my loved ones in heaven.

Me too April!

I believe in life after death. I think in some part we make our own h**l for instance thoes of us who smoke and can't quit :innocent: what will it be like when we die and we still have the cravings but not the ability. I don't believe in reincarnation. I don't think God is cruel enough to make us go through all of this again. and I don't think it is possible for the spirit of a human to change to the spirit of something else. Of course this is my opinion.
