Hi. You guys know me from RO. Well formerly from RO. Unfortunatley I was another victim because of someone pming me over a culling subject, starting an arguement(the post about me getting white rabbit out of my chins). And getting me wrongfully banned for it. God mod sided with that person, and said I was mean to the OP in the pms, even the OP had started harassing me. I think I had the right to say what I had to say to her though. Ban or no ban.

Unfortunately I lost the baby to the heat yesterday. No other deaths since then. *Crosses fingers.*

Anyhow a bit about me. I own a rabbitry called dixons rabbitry. i raise show quality standard chins, and florida whites.I am nationally ranked with the sc's. 34. Whoo hooo. I am passionate about animals. I do not coddle people when it comes to abuse or neglect. So if I seem a bit off or mean, thats just how I write and view things. The mean not being intentional but well meant. I am for rescueing and responsible breeding. I am an artist. I do pet pantings. ;)

I was commissioning a painting for someone on RO. BUt now my banning makes it one step harder.

I had a white one turn up in my recent litters. It died tho. :( Hence the main reason why someone got me banned from 'over there.'

Actually the banning was over pm messages between me and luv my buns. Because that person didnt agree with me selling culls into a meat outlet, and had to start harassing over the pms. And told me I needed to take my culls to a shelter. To which I really socked it to her, and got called mean by her and the nazi mod. *Double Cough.*

Those that have posted with me before know that I care alot about the animals I raise. Better to go to an outlet them to a shelter. or at least thats how i feel. No pets unless spay and nueter contracts apply. But a 4-h project or show rabbit would be a differrent story.

See, I don't understand that. There are already SO many homeless bunnies out there already, I think that dumping your culls at a shelter would be irresponsible...why make it harder for the shelters? Especially with breeds that are primarily bred for meat, I can't imagine how hard it would be to find "pet homes" for FWs or Chins. It's even hard for me and I have a small, lop eared fluffy breed, which is the type of rabbit that seems to be in demand for pets. But that's just my opinion....

I don't understand it either. And yeah there is alot less demand for pet homes for florida whites and standard chins. florida whites arent rare. BUt they are more of a meat rabbit then they are a pet. Though some of them do make awesome pets. With standard chins, the demand is just not there at all. No sparked interest in them. Cept for the few working and striving to save the breed. And those just getting started with them. I just wish people would stop heavily crossing in white rabbits. Because those genes do eventually show up. Like mine. I thought mine didnt carry it. But boy was I wrong. everyone else is starting to see white chins too. Not just from my lines either.

I'm also banned from RO, so I can't access what's been said (and no time to read it, anyway), but I have no doubt you were singled out, they sure do have their favourites and their not so favourites over there. (You can quote me on that!)

Sorry its causing you stress, but to be honest, people here don't really talk about that forum (or even think about it), and nobody misses it. B)

The membership there is eroding (people don't 'unjoin', they just leave or get banned, so the numbers only 'look' fat), and this forum and a couple of others are gaining fast, so it's all good. :)

And considering we've all been deemed 'trolls', it's funny that I have yet to see ONE argument or even disagreement on this side of the fence! We're very happy little trolls! :pinkbun: Glad you're joining us. :cheers:

Well, Dixon, I can certainly say you made some good points about the pet overpopulation problem. Shelters around here just don't take in rabbits and selling for pets is mostly a seasonal (easter) venture.

Anyway, I love Chins. My brother and I first rabbit was a Chinchilla named Nick. He was a surly thing, but full of perosnality and we loved him.

Chins have great personailities. ;) They actually make a better pet bunny then most popular breeds do.

i'd enjoy a breeders forum. But you know there are other breeders forums out there. This does tend to be more of a pet owner forum. and there is a place for both. GOOD pet owner forums where people understand that rabbits are livestock and breeding is fine as long as it is for a responsible reason and done responsibly. This place is closer to that than anything i've ever seen.

Ok i am sure you have no idea who i am...but if you look under the MSRBYA sweepstakes in the last issue i am tied for 1st in silvers....and i dont have creme's. :D

I actually rank nationally now in silvers. I'm fifth!!! That is extremely pathetic though...I've only been to one sanctioned show and shown two rabbits at it!!!

I just posted it last night after being banned from another furom. :P Im on a couple of live journal ones thats pretty close to it. But alot more drama! LOL! But less drama then that other place.

Im ranked 4rth nationally in standard chins, and 17th in state open points for them. Also fourth place all breed fur. 1rst place national fur. two of my rabbits are kinda celeberties around here. One of my sc bucks almost had best in show to brian hartzells fuzzy lop last year at the msrba show. Just missed on depth. Same buck was runner up to a tan for best in 4-class at the huntington indiana show last feb. the funnt part on that was bruce ormsby picked him for 4-class at msrab. George raisor judged him for best in show. Brian judged him, and picked him for BOB at huntington. bruce and goerge judged him for best in 4-class. All three recognized the rabbit. Though that was the first time brian had ever seen him. Or touched him. :P

Tod narrogan is in love with my herd sire. and almost had him for a best 4-class at i think south central michigan. He was runner up to a mini rex. Shouldve heard him raving about him being the best body typed standard chin hes ever seen! I mean he was literally shouting across the showroom lol!

Ive missed the last two shows due to lack of money. But I will be hitting up cal bra hill in two weeks. Its ten minutes away from me. And my breed is sanctioned. ;)

Not in person, but I posted back and forth with you about the Hotots on that rabbit LJ community...under "got bunnies". Not sure if you remember me or not or if I've even got the right person, but I thought I remembered you saying something about Brian's Fuzzy Lop. Of course, the Fuzzy Lop thing stuck in my mind. :P
