Title: What should I do?
rabbitrae - June 19, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
Okay here it goes.........
I'm going to this private school and I've got tons of friends there and been there for my whole life. My dad says if I go to a different school then I could get a horse which I've always wanted and move some place else. Then I'd be moving from the house I've lived in all my life. What should I do??? Of course either way I'd keep my bunnies lol

Well, making such an important decision would require more information. Like, what other school would you go to? Why does he want you to quit this school? Why did you go there in the first place?
With that..... does he want to move and you are "stuck" there due to the school?

What ever school district I'd move in
We want to quit this school b/c its too much money its like 360,00 a year just for me not including my siblings
I went here in the first place cause it a christian school and its apparently good in education so on and so forth
hope that answers your questions bbb

Is your current school K thru 12? Or would you be changing to a different school eventually (like high school) anyways?
What's more important to you....friends or a horse?
If your father is going to send you to a public school be prepared for a major culture shock from what you've experienced at a Christian school. Especially if you are in high school. Been there, done that!
My 12 y/o daughter always says she wants a horse...but when I remind her we would have to move farther out into the country where the homes are miles apart she changes her mind....even though she wouldn't have to change schools.

that is a hard choise to make ....but if they would like you to leave b/c of the money i think you should do it . i know i had gone to a privet school once and it was expencive ... and in the long run i was better off at a puplic school and i liked it better ..but its your choise to make

I really don't have to move for a horse I have almost 2 acres. Its just moving into a school district. *sigh* I don't know what I want!!!! :boohoo: yes I'm whining!
Cinnabun - June 21, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
would you have more acres if you move?

if you would i would move.. that way i dunno if the rule is the same there.. but here you go by the acres of land you have and that is how many horses you can have.. so if you would have more room, maybe more rabbits (if you can) more horses

I think that if you feel you and your siblings will still get a great education, and be in a safe environment.... go for it.
My kids are in private school ...... oops now my son isn't cause he is going to High School this fall. I looked at the private school options and it's just not worth it to me. $9500 per year just to go there.... not including books, uniforms, etc., and it didn't offer as much as the public school in classes.

This is such a funny conversation to me. First of all What state do you live in?
I live in NY.. and i have never gone to private school when i was in school (im 31 now) i always went to public school. From the day i was born i was surrounded by all kinds of people and cultures. So for me i wouldnt know what it was like to live without being in a public school. If it was my decision being who i am and all id DEFINITLY go for the horse and the public school. Not only will you meet alot more new and interesting people but youd get the horse and your family would save money on school. (and you wouldnt have to wear that uniform everyday ;) )
but again the choice is yours and at this age (how old are you?) life is tough with making friends and leaving something youve known all your life so it really is something you need to think about and see if you can handle the change well. Good luck though.. and if you do opt for the horse post pics!! woo hoo.. i luv horses...

ShazzaBunny - July 10, 2005 05:40 PM (GMT)
The thing is, you only go to school once, you only have one shot at education, and this is what gets you through life.
Look at the big picture. You stay at the christian school, get a good education, go to university and get a good qualification in the field your interested in.
Moving to a public school will gain you a quality education, you can still go to uni and get a fab job. So schooling, apart from the culture shock from a christian school to a public school is not the issue here.
My main concern is in 3 or so years when you go to uni, what happens to the horse. You decide to get campus at Uni, your horse cant come.
A horse is a 30 year commitment, and it takes a lot of time each day, and at this stage your education is more important regardless of which school your at.
I suggest you move to the public school and ask your dad to open a pony fund. when you graduate school/uni and get a job and know your secure, you then ask your dad for the funds to get your horse.
Your only 15, there is plenty time for horses, education only comes once.
I am of course assuming you decide to go to uni.

That depends what University you go to and what programs you register in.
