Title: Bow and Arrow for a 13 Year Old
Description: What would you recommend?

My 13 year old Niece has taken to Archery and has asked for a Bow and Arrow for Christmas. I know absolutely nothing about Bows. I assume there are different types for hunting than there are for competition. I would appreciate any suggestions on types, brands, etc. that any of you might suggest.

She's enjoyed Archery in her PE classes and assume she would like something similar.

Thanks for any help!

YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE MY FRIEND!

Here is the link to the #1 bow on the market for kids. And is the bow most used by schools in the Archery for Schools program that is nation wide!

Both my kids have this bow and it is an AWESOME bow for beginners and kids to start shooting! It's made by Mathews and is called the Genesis!

If all she is interested in is shooting for fun and target shooting, this is the bow for her to start with hands down! If she is interested in hunting at all this is a good bow to start with, but once the time come to go hunting i would get her something else!

Here is the link to the web site for the bow!

http://genesisbow.com/genbow/

It is easy enough to shoot with the fingers, i suggest you also get finger tip guards for shooting, and if she is super serious about it, i would get her a tru-ball release also! Any more questions you have you know where to go!

Mathews is the best. I have been shooting there bows for years. Smitty seems more familiar with the kids bows than I am.

Did anyone watch the archery competition in the olympics? It was actually pretty cool to watch......

Ordered and shipped! Thanks again guys! I'll post back after Christmas on her reaction.

That was funny. Not sure if that was a Fredudian slip or meant to be. Smitty plays with kids bows and Bucker plays with the more manly bows. Just the impression I got. Either way it's funny. readneck

Maybe cause i have kids that want to shoot and hunt. Maybe that is why i have more experience in this department! Also i wouldn't shoot a Mathews to save my life! Yes the Genesis is a great bow for kids and people wanting to learn, but for hunting, i am a Hoyt and Alpine man myself!

Hoyt doesn't make a bad bow, and BowTech is pretty good also. But I have always, and will continue to shoot Mathews. They are all pretty much equals now. I, personally, have never liked the way either of them looked, or the way the grips felt. A few years ago Mathews had everyone beat hands down

13 Year Old Girl Goes On Arrow Shooting Rampage

12/17/08

Staff Writer: Billy Bob Brubaker

This morning at a middle school in Eastern Tennessee, a ninth grade girl climbed the bell tower in front of the school and went on a deadly bow and arrow shooting spree. It was reported that the youngster climbed a utility ladder on the bell tower and took up a perch just below the top of the tower. She began her shooting spree at approximately 8:45 a.m., just as the buses were unloading students in front of the school. By 8:56 she had already picked off 7 students, 3 of them died on the scene.

Her accuracy was that of a professional hunter. She originally climbed the tower with 25 arrows, and shot all of them, hitting 22 of her targets from a range of no less than 75 feet. There were 3 fatalities reported. In all 19 students, 2 teachers, and 1 janitor were amongst the victims in what has become known to locals as A Christmas Nightmare.

According to investigators, the girl had recently received the bow and arrow as a Christmas gift from her uncle in California. Police are currently interigating the uncle to find out if there are any ties to terrorist organizations. The Deptartment of Homeland Security is also looking into the case. The shooters name has not yet been released.

Ha Ha Ha!!!

It's just a joke.

I can't help it if I'm a good writer.

Ramius, did they say what kind of bow she was using?! lol

A whole 75 feet? That is only 25 yards, it most not have been a very tall bell tower.
