Title: Here we go..
Description: again
Belle - March 29, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
Last Time:
Anyway...
As you and Embra walked casually along the beautiful coastline of Azure Isle, you heard a slight yelp come from the nearby ocean, somewhere amongst the rocks.
All of a sudden a girl around the age of thirteen came barreling out of said area. She was being chased by something, a pokemon perhaps, and screaming like crazy. The pokemon chasing her however, seemed to be a Shellder, a rather odd Pokemon to be afraid of you thought....
"Help!" she screeched. "Help!!!"
=====
Sweatdrops abounded, from both Embra and I, as we watched a thirteen-year old girl, run from a Pokemon of whom didn't even have legs. I rolled my eyes, somewhat amused by the idea of a girl running away from a Shellder. Embra tensed a bit, nevertheless, because the Shellder was a water type. But, Fire Attacks would work better against this Pokemon than Physical Attacks would. Hey - it wasn't called SHELLder for nothing.
"Well, Embra, we might as well help her, right?"
"I suppose . . . can't we watch her run some more?"
Taking my glance for now, Embra sighed.
"Alright, try to ward it off with a Flamethower - I know its a water type...buut..."

Destiny - March 29, 2005 11:09 AM (GMT)
The screaming girl had ran past you, ducking behind a large rock. You couldn't help but laugh a bit; it was a rather amusing scene. As Embra walks in to battle, you hear the girl wave out a small, "Thank you so much!"
Embra shoots out a flamtrhrower, dealing moderate damage to the Shellder. the Shellder counters with a water gun...
Belle - March 29, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
(Dunno if the water gun hit or not.. as you left it hanging.. if I'm wrong about what I assume, just tell me, and I'll edit this post)
====
"Uh, no problem," I mumbled, as I watched with a small amount of amusement as the girl ran behind the rock. She must have Shellderphobia or something - but I really couldn't see what was so scary about a Pokemon who happened to be not much more than a hard shell.
Embra snarled as the jet of water sailed her way, and opening her mouth wide, she prepared to counter it, ever so careful to keep her tail away from any residual spray that might occur - or if the water attack won out for that matter. The fire attack began to surge out of her mouth - a firey, hopeful light at the back at her throat.
If all went right, and the Flamethrower connected, a battle of elements would begin. Fire or water? Which would win out - well, it was my hope that Embra would (of course, what trainer wouldn't) or settle for the rather neutral (and the much more scientific explanation) way in which when water and hot fire connected, would be reduced to steam.
However, that all depending on the next few moments - and well, we would see.
"
Destiny - March 30, 2005 12:20 AM (GMT)
Just as you had thought, the two elements resulted in a big cloud of steam, encasing both you and Embra in the fog.
You turned to see the girl peeking out from the rocks, a small glint forming at the edges of her eyes. She seemed to be calculating something, her nose was moving up and down, proving that her mouth was moving. She was saying something, maybe taking notes to herself. You shook it off, and returned to the battle. Shellder released a bubble beam attack, ramming into Embra. Embra managed to get up however, and countered with...
Belle - March 30, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
I froze, suddenly - then, looking strangely at the girl - she was mouthing something.. yes, I was sure she had commanded the stupid little shell pokemon in front of me to use Bubblebeam. Was she planning to attempt to steal my Charmander? Or perhaps she just wanted to see my strength? I had no sure proof of either - and Embra was currently busy fighting the Shellder to really bother seeing if I was right or not.
Ah, well, two could play at that game. For now, I would watch her, and see if I could catch her in the act. For now, I would play her little game. It was time to fight with a different kind of fire.
"Dragon Rage, Embra!"
The Charmander, in retaliation to the bubble attack, opened her mouth, intending not to release a Flamethrower - a solid Fire Type move, but a different kind of flame, that belonging to the Dragon type. Well - lets see how the bubbles would react to that? As the Bubbles weren't as touch or had as much force behind it, it would probably be easier to break through.
With that said, I turned to the girl.
"This... Shellder bothering you? You afraid or something?"
Destiny - March 30, 2005 02:49 AM (GMT)
The girl put on another 70watt smile, trying her best to look sugary sweet. "Uhh yeah," she replied a little nervously. "Terrified of Shellfish....."
You weren't really buying into her little "innocent" act and began to ignore the twerp.
Dragon Rage hit Shellder dead on, sending it flying back into the water. As it resurfaced, you noticed the two X's where it's eyes should have been, and realized it was KO'ed.
From the rocks there was a beam of red, and the Shellder was absorbed into the bright light. "So it wasn't a wild after all," you muttered to yourself.
The girl peeked out from the rocks again, this time revealing herself fully, rather than from the nose up. "Hi," she said twirling the pokeball on her finger. "I'm Des." You stared at her oddly, choosing not to reply. "Well you might be wondering what that whole fiasco was about right there. I guess I should explain myself. It was merely a test....to see if you could fight the elements. You passed with flying colors you know," she added matter-of-factly. "Okay then, I guess I'll get going then." She began to slowly back away, then breaking out into full sprint. "Oh, I almost forgot!" She tossed something at you. "You won, it's yours." Des then ran off, looking more like she flew off on something.
This Des person was definately a strange, more like mysterious, girl. But then again, what wasn't strange and mysterious about the Azure Region? You remembered the item she had thrown at you. It was a pokeball. Not just any pokeball though, it was the one that contained the shiny Shellder you faced. How ironic...You continued walking along the path wondering if that was the last time you would ever encounter that girl again...
Congratulations! Your Embra gained 1 Level and you received a Shiny Shellder Male LV.6!
Belle - March 30, 2005 04:01 AM (GMT)
"Terrified of Shellfish -" Embra began, watching with amusement at the fleeing trainer, Des. She gave one look at the Shellder - a shiny one at that - that was now owned by me. The charmander wrinkled her nose at the Shellder. "Even if she really wasn't, I suddenly don't think I'd blame her if she was scared of this odd thing.
The shellfish pokemon seemed to be waking up from his stunned stupor, opening his eyes only to glare in fury at Embra. From the looks of it, he already knew what would happen if he lost, and seemed resigned to that fate.
"Meh - I would've won had you not gotten lucky," the Shellder bluffed, sticking his tongue out even further than it already was, blowing a loud raspberry at Embra. "Actually - no, I let you win. It was no lucky shot of yours. I let you because I felt pity on you - and because you deserved a well-trained, and shiny pokemon such as myself - I -"
"Shut up!" Embra retorted. "Or I'll feed you to Aeros."
"I'm shaking in my shell!" again, the Shellder stuck his tongue out again - annoying, really. I was only watching the exchange 'cause I didn't want to get involved.
"He's an Aerodactyl!" the Charmander exclaimed. "The great bird of the sky!"
"Mhmm... really, I don't have time for a silly lizard with fire on its tale throwing threats at me. It's all fire against water, gal. You couldn't take it."
He suddenly rotated his shell toward me. "Excuse me, if you are now my Trainer, as they say, I, Mortimer Conrad II, would much like to be taken into my Pokeball. I've had enough talk from a Charmander who doesn't know fire from water..."
Embra growled, smoke blasting out of her nose, as she snorted. She assumed a battle stance - I could only since an impending fight on the way, if I did not interfere. And believe me, I was more than happy to recall the insolent Shellder into his Pokeball. Embra, though looking satisfied that he was contained, didn't seem happy that he was still travlling with us.
"He can STAY in there. I want nothing to do with him!"
With that, she began to walk off, down Azure Isle once more, and I, sighing, walked just behind her, fingering Mortimer's Pokeball. Des - the name seemed oddly familar... where from, I wonder.
Destiny - March 30, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
(OOC: Very Familiar indeed...)
Embra had already created ferlongs between the two of you, obviously wanting to steer clear of Mortimer Conrad II and his inflated ego, at least for the time being.
In the distance you could make out a tiny wharf-like area, maybe even a port. What was it used for?
As you were engulfed in the wharf thoughts you heard Embra let out a cry. Running up for a further investigation you see her duking it out with a Rattata...
Belle - March 31, 2005 12:57 AM (GMT)
I could already see the tiny Rattata before me - and I wondered vaguely whom had started the fight. Embra, or the Rattata? I wouldn't be surprised either way - Embra had pursued the trail with a huff, obviously not in a good mood after her conversation with Mortimer. The stuck up little thing. It made me wonder whether it was just him, or rather, the fact he was a Shiny pokemon. Well - if not just that, certainly being a shiny type did something to inflate the thing's already massive ego.
The Rattata was already in battle with Embra. The tiny fire lizard thus far seemed unimpressed, a snarl on her features. And before I could shout out an order, she had already opened her mouth to release one of her own - a Flamethrower.
It can surging out of her mouth and . . .
Destiny - March 31, 2005 03:33 AM (GMT)
...Mortimer came surging out of his Pokeball, knocking Embra abrubtly over the head. Embra, surprised by the sudden blow to the head, tumbled over in a heap, sighing in exasparation. It seemed Mortimer was more than willing to battle, his ego coming once more into place...
Belle - April 1, 2005 12:00 AM (GMT)
(Ooc: I soooo should've seen that coming. 0_o....)
=====
I was surprised - though perhaps I shouldn't've been, by Mortimer's sudden appearance. He looked smug, having somehow landed a blow atop the Fire Lizard's head. The latter was surprised beyond all reason, her expression a mixture of confusion, surprise, and anger. Her head shook rapidly, trying to rid herself of the headache that was starting to surface, no doubt. On the other side of the Type Spectrum, Mortimer himself, looked as smug as his little self could show. His tongue was sticking out, like it usually did, and behind those eyes, I was sure he was laughing.
"I think I can take it from here -" he said, eyes roving to the Rattata, whose face seemed to have the same imprint of confusion the other had. "Embra was a good enough distraction for the time being - at least she's good for something. But I have been rejuvinated, and I'm more capable at handling the Rattata, than she could ever be."
Embra had stood up from her toppled position, looking angry beyond all reason. "This battle is MINE!" She paused for a moment, to catch her breath, and to try and control her temper. "You have NO right."
The Shellder rolled his eyes. "Did our dear Trainer command you to pursue into battle?"
Embra paused. "Well, no . . . but -"
"My point is now justified. I have as much right - if not more - than you do. So, stay at the sidelines and make yourself useful, if that's possible."
"Why, you!
"Embra . . . calm down. Anger isn't exactly the way to . . . uh . . . handle this."
The lizard shot me a glare, while Mortimer looked smug. "Fighting can solve ANYTHING! Why should I let him -"
I blinked. When did I say I asked him to battle? Mortimer, seeming to already have planned what he would say, when Embra brought up the subject, said in a haughty tone:
"Well, for one thing, I possess a higher defense then you. And Rattata is a physical attacker, is it not?"
I nodded. Embra refused to.
"I rest my case."
"He's right you know . . ." I said. Embra hissed, yelling aloud "Fine!" before walking a few paces away from the battle, and perching on a rock in the sand, turning her back to us.
"Don't look so smug with youself," I snapped at Mortimer, before issuing my commands. "Withdraw, then attack with Water Gun!"
Such an attack - call it a combo if you will, was sure to prove effective against such an opponent. First, the Withdraw attack would raise defense - for Rattata's skill was in physically attacking, and using a water gun while in the shell was perfectly possible, thus removing a few weaknesses that may occur.
Destiny - April 2, 2005 03:12 PM (GMT)
Much to no one's surpise, your preposition on the combo had worked. On impact, the Rattata fell backwards lying unconsciously, sprawled out on the ground. It seemed that Mortimer could fight as well as his ego spoke...
Belle - April 4, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
(He gain a level? Shellder, I mean?)
"That was -"
"Very talented of me, I know."
I was surprised - and the shock must have shone on my face. I mean - he just knocked out the Rattata in one hit... well.. if this happened nearly every time he battled.. I could see where he got his overly large ego from. Embra looked furious, though surprised as well. And really, who wouldn't be after watching a Shellder preform a one hit knock out.
"No, it was lucky! Luck!" Embra hissed. "Besides, I was battling it first. I weakned it! I did, got it?"
"Weakened it by what? One hit point? Plllease -" At this, Mortimer rolled his eyes. "The only thing you really did was be a wonderful distraction."
"Why! You!!"
Embra's claws began to glow a silvery white, and jumping up from where she was sitting, began to rush toward Mortimer. "Embra! No! No!"
She only hissed in rage, coming closer to Mortmer every second. The latter sighed, withdrawing into his shell - but just in case she actually got a critical hit or something, I whipped out his Pokeball, faster that Embra had expected, and recalled him, just as her Metal Claw hit the sand below, doing nothing.
"WHY! Why did you do that for? Huh? I had HIM! You don't think I can beat him do you? Do you!? Well, I did before - and!"
"Shh. Calm down. Don't get angry just because Mortimer baits you. I don't doubt anything about you - except the fact that maybe you can't control your temper."
I tried to calm the lizard further, but she refused to be consoled much. But, after five minutes passed, she seemed to have calmed her temper down. "The next battle will be yours. Don't worry - unless it's against a ground type or something. Come on - I think I see a building ahead. Let's see if it's anything."
Destiny - April 4, 2005 08:29 PM (GMT)
(OOC: Yeah I'll update him)
You casually apprached the building you just noticed. There wasn't much to it. It was run down and had the appearance of a haunted house in scary movies. You take a step closer and run a hand along the outside door. It's made of drift wood you decide and soon it creaks open. As you're about to enter you hear an oh-so familiar voice...
"It's a fisherman's wharf!" the girl, Des, shouted from behind you. "An abandoned one at that." She hopped down from her hiding spot and approached you. "It's been here on this island for a long time. Supposedly some sort of legend goes along with it, but don't ask me about it, 'cause I have no clue what the legend is...."
You ignored the girl somewhat, more focused on the door. It was now or never.... Will you go in....?
Belle - April 5, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
"Legend, eh?" I said, spotting the girl who was supposedly afraid of Shellfish - at at the mention of the legend, Embra perked up. Although she looked a tad dissapointed that Des didn't know what the legend was. Nevertheless, she walked over to Des, extending a clawed, hand, poking her gently.
"Are you really afraid of Shellfish?"
I sighed. What kind of question was that to ask anybody. Of course, Embra was curious, and if it got her mind of of Mortimer, well, that was all well and good. While Embra impatiently awaited an answer, I opened the door and looked inside, wondering if there was anything worthy to be seen.
Destiny - April 10, 2005 03:08 PM (GMT)
While Embra poked around by Des, you decided to enter the abandoned fisherman's wharf. As you looked around you saw many antique-like items, mostly covered in dust and white sheets. You could hear strange noises coming from somewhere in the building. Do you wish to further investigate the place?
Belle - April 26, 2005 02:13 AM (GMT)
(and I thought this place was dyin'. X.x Hapily, it's not.)
===
I nodded, looking inwards into the shed. Items abounded, and my curiosity was piqued. Maybe there was something valuble hidden under the dust and sheets, but there really wasn't that much light.. or.. anything. Des was still behind me, with Embra poking her, muttering something about Shellfish...
But to investigate further - as well to see what the noise was, I needed a light. "Embra.. come here, will ya? I need a light."
"Okay!" Mood heightening, she scampered inward, waving at Des, though unsure if she would follow. Her tail flamed higher, to try and shed more light on the stuff. I could tell she was impressed.
"Keep a lookout, okay? Keep your eyes open for any Pokemon, or items, that look interesting."
Destiny - April 26, 2005 09:10 AM (GMT)
(OOC: VERY happily, it's not...^_^*)
As you entered a little further into the wharf, it seemed Des had already high-tailed it out of there. What a coward...
There was another strange noise and it seemed to be a Sableye. She didn't seem to be too happy with the fact that you had just entered her area, and attacked you!
Belle - April 28, 2005 02:07 AM (GMT)
I had to step back - quite quickly, in fact, as the Sableye plunged in her assult to defend her home. I knew this Pokemon well - it was a Dark/Ghost type, thus had no weaknesses. However, that didn't mean it couldn't be defeated. Being a Dark Type pokemon, with those insanely jewel like eyes, probably meant that it didn't like light.
The Sableye had only just missed punching me in the gut, thanks to my quick reflexes, and Embra's startled shout. She looked surprised beyond all reason, when she saw the strange ghost type, and her face assumed a look that suggested that she didn't especially like ghost types. However, she was a bit hardheaded, and too fiery in temper to admit it. Swallowing whatever fear she had, she knew what she had to do.
"'Ey, leave her alone!"
Out of her throat, a deep orange blossom of flame erupted, not only helping bring some light into the old, abadoned wharf, but hopefully successfully distracting the ghost away.
Destiny - April 28, 2005 02:13 AM (GMT)
The Sableye repented in fear, the light successfully frightening her. However, it wasn't enough to complete rid her of the area. She attacked Embra with a confusion throwing her back against the wall...
Belle - April 28, 2005 02:45 AM (GMT)
Seeing Embra getting flung against the wall was enough for me. There was a way to get the Sableye to retreat back against the wall, if it was afraid of light so. Well - I'd give it something to complain about. I closed my eyes, concentrating. I was trying to catch the attention of a certain member of my team that owed alligeince. Skye ...
The Psychic type felt my call - so powerful was she that she sensed immeidatly my need and thought, and, as she was never far away, was coming, I felt it. It was the Psychic connection between she and I - one that only powerful Psychic types could create.
Then, she matierlized with a thrum of Psychic power, which, though the Dark/Ghost type did not feel, still saw.
The Shiny Mew - blue in color - surveyed the Sableye with interest. And though she was weak to the Pokemon - she knew a move that it did not. Since Mew was rumored to have the genetic codes of all Pokemon, she knew almost every move that there was to know, including one called Flash.
She heard my thought, and nodded, telling Embra and I to close my eyes through telepathy. Then, just as I began to close my eyes, she shimmered, and the Sableye had no way of avoiding the incoming light, for she had no eye lids to close.
The blinding, bright light flashed, and seared my closed eyelids, so bright was it - as well as a lowerer of accuracy. Well - we'd see if the Sableye would like that.
Destiny - April 28, 2005 11:05 AM (GMT)
Immediately frightened by the Mew in general, the Sableye fled as fast as she could, leaving you to explore the rest of the wharf house. You decided that it would be a good chance to further explore this area and continue on.
As you walked along the corridors of the deserted place, you were quite reluctant to find that someone else was, in fact, in this area. As you passed a nearby bait table, you noticed an ebony head pop up. It was a boy, a very familiar boy...
"....Belle is that you?" You heard him whisper...
Belle - May 2, 2005 03:45 AM (GMT)
"Silas?!" I said in surprise, staring at the pale face. It took me a moment to fully comprehend who it was - as my mind was half denying it, half rejoicing.
I saw him smile, Skye's Flash having illuminated the building a great deal. She had become invisable, already. She didn't really like to be seen by many people, friend or foe. It had been quite awhile since I had actually saw him - before I even began my journey.
"...It's been awhile," he replied, his pale face brightening. A Murkrow was perched atop his shoulder - black as midnight. I recognized the bird as Silas's "starter" Pokemon, Morpheus. The bird was a dark creature, prone to observation, if I remembered correctly.
"Who's that?" Embra asked.
"It has," I answered, hesitant, almost. "Oh, Embra - this is Silas."
"Silas Lunara," Silas repeated. "Pleased to meet you. This is your starter I take it?"
"It is."
"I didn't mean him. I meant the bird."
Silas laughed, and the Murkrow shuffled a few paces along his shoulder, before speaking. "I am Morpheus."
The keen-eyed bird looked around the wharf. "There's something about, sir -" sir obviously being Silas. "I can sense it."
Destiny - May 3, 2005 12:14 AM (GMT)
As if to answer Morpheus' call, a strange noise flooded the room.
"What was that?" Silas pondered aloud, edging over towards a nearby window. He ppeked outthrough the dust-covered glass panes and turned back.
"It's the ferry out of Azure Isle!" he triumphantly deducted. "....And from the sound of the Ferry's bell, it's the last one for today!"
He recalled Morpheus and ran towards the entrance/exit. He stopped and turned around. "Well are you coming or what? We have to catch it!"
