Title: Why Do America Have So Many Friends?
Description: Where should the money be spent (Really?

Patlyn - March 11, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
JUST A LITTLE BIT OF NEWS

Why are other Countries so willing to help us during this time of War.

(Because America has all the Friends that Money can buy!)

I imagine you realize that a bunch of other Countries are slowly offering to send soldiers etc, into Iraq. Why?

Because they believe in our cause and they love Americans? Well, the guy on the street is led to believe that, and we all feel a little bit better thinking that it’s true; but is it? Not if you believe the Democratic Group running for President. They say that President Bush has it all wrong. Maybe that’s true, and maybe it isn’t. To decide whether the Democrats or Republicans are right, you have to read this:

Moving back to the fact that (some) other Countries are willing to offer to help us, it kind of looks as if President Bush did make the right decision when he invaded Iraq. Those other countries wouldn’t be offering help otherwise, would they?

It is true that England was always with us, no matter what, but Tony Blair has been a friend to America from the beginning; he’s loyal, and a trusted friend. But what of the other countries, are they so (loyal) and (dedicated) to America’s causes? Maybe. Maybe not!

But then, why are they so willing to offer assistance? Well, lets see… What would cause these foreign countries to want to be so nice to us? Okay, it’s back to the old story of: “What gets you the most, Vinegar or Honey?”
Okay…so what kind of Honey to use? Hmmmmm, so it’s not really Honey, it’s Money!

That’s right, “America Has All The Friends That Money Can Buy!!” But are they really Friends? Well, lets see what kind of Friends we really have over there.

Some of the Payoffs (Money paid by the United States) (Only the ones we know of at this time) are:

(A)PAKISTAN: The Sanctions we had against them were lifted. At the same time we gave them 1.3 Billion dollars (There is a thousand million in each Billion remember!) President Bush also pressured the International Monetary Fund to forgive Pakistan’s $ 1 Billion dollar loan they had borrowed in the past. (that’s another thousand million they won’t have to pay back)

(B)UZBEKISTAN: Received $25 million to buy U.S. Weapons. Then $40 Million for their Economy. Then, $18 Million for its Antiterrorist Program. Then $11 Million for Foreign Military Financing, and $8.7 Million for whatever.

C)OMAR: (Whatever country that is) received $1.2 Billion in Fighter Jets and Missiles.

(D)UNITED ARAB EMIRITES (Arabia included) received $40 Million for Missiles.

(E)THE PHILLIPINES: Received $100 Million in Planes, Helicopters, Patrol Boats, and other Arms, including 30,000 M-16 Rifles.

(F)POLAND: Received a $3.9 Billion Loan, (way below market value rates) to buy 48-F-16 Fighter Planes, then received an additional $10 Billion in “Offset Investments” (whatever that means) promised by Lockeed Martin, builder of the F-16 Fighter Jets. The TOP YEARLY RECIPIENTS of U.S.A. Money are Listed below.

(G)ISRAEL: $2.1 Billion (used to be $8 Billion for years (every year) to allow us to have a Base there for our Jets, and to buy from us... U.S. Military made weapons, etc. But that isn’t all. We also give them 600 Million yearly for Economic Support.

(H)EGYPT: Receives $1.3 Billion yearly in Military Aid, $615 Million for Social Programs (whatever they are) plus $400 Million worth of Block-11 anti-ship missiles.

(I)JORDAN: Receives $250 Million yearly, plus $198 Million in Military Aid.

(J)And a lot of Payoffs that we never hear about. It’s true; America has all the friends that Money can buy!
President Bush made the statement: “I have no better friends in Europe today.”
In Europe yes! But in the Middle East?…(the list above shows that is not quite true.)

There are people, Mothers and Fathers (In the US ) seen on TV all the time lately, saying: “We are having Fund Raisers, and parties to get money to buy “Bullet Proof Vests” for our Children stationed in Iraq...
That is a darned shame!

K) The Government says they don’t have the money for everything the kids over there need. Why not? They certainly have enough to give to those Foreign Countries.

Then again, what are we worried about? The War is over isn’t it? NOT! Americans are dying in Iraq almost every day, and that part of it isn’t going to stop very soon. The count of soldiers, both men and women, is excessive any way you look at it, since the War ended? That’s way too many. Even One is too many!

Have we really won the Hearts and Minds of the Iraqi people? (Like we we’re supposed to, when we took down Sadam? NO! They hate us for the most part. There’s little chance that the Insurgency will ever really end; because the bombing of homes, the kicking in of doors at night, women and children who don’t understand this behavior being terrorized, is all making Enemies anew.

Naturally you can make your own decisions about whether we should have ever gone to War, but to pay Foreign Countries to be our Friends, while our kids go without Bullet Proof Vests and are killed; that is something our Government should be ashamed of, and work to correct immediately!
(I myself support our Troops, both Boys & Girls with all my heart.) But for our Government to Give away Billions of Dollars, while our kids go without Bullet proof Vests is a Crime!

You won't get any argument from me. The other part of the equation is the tremendous debt we're loading on those same boys and girls when they come back from serving, and their children, and their grandchildren and so on until who knows when.

Hi Marva,
Yeah, it's a tough subject to discuss. It's already going on, so there's not much use trying to stop it. I don't approve of war, unless we are attacked first, (Or going to be attacked.) Ya Know, this all came about, after Sadam put a Hit on President Bush. So I think this whole thing was cooked up to get back at him.

Sadam IS a bad man, but a little like the Dictator of Cuba, Fadel Castro, not hurting anyone but their own people. And it's a funny thing, but only these Tirants can keep their own people in line...I think thats why our Government leaves them in power.

Ever hear of Sadam's methods for CROWD CONTROL? (MOBS GONE CRAZY)....He ordered Heliocopters into the air Loaded with 55 gallon drums of Battery Acid....The people in these air borne vehicles would fly slowly over the Crowds and spray them with this Battery Acid....A hard lesson...but it worked. And we think we can stop them with bullets?

If Sadam were let loose tomorrow, everything would come to a screeching halt! (Not that we would want him to be.)
Too bad HIS Way seems to be the only way to stop these crazys from killing our kids.

What’s that Beatles song? Can’t Buy Me Love?

Of course, we could just send them flowers and candy and ask to be bestest friends ever, and then buy ourselves nice shiny things. But there’s no shortage of greed and bad people out there, and lots of them are more than willing to set aside their grudges for a while if we feed them gold and lend a hand.

So maybe, maybe, maybe the means of staving off war for a bit longer is paying them off. It’s bloody war or corrupt peace, I suppose. Damn shame, huh? I’d love to hear the multi-billion dollar solution to this.

You make an excellent point, Pat. We could just sweep the streets with acid, maybe crucify a few here and there, make some examples. Or maybe we could just nuke them! Why that’s a bright idea! It’s certainly a better idea than sending well-trained soldiers to pick out specific targets. At least the women and children won't get scared from doors being kicked down. No, let’s pour acid all over them. They’ll understand.

Hi Bad Day,
I guess you get the picture. There are a few of these countries that do earn their pay, but there's alot of them that don't seem to, in my estimation. I don't have anything against our US Government, thats not my bag, but I just wish they would give that money out more freely to the Americans that need it.

As for Afganistan, and Pakistan, they are important, because if we don't put something in their pockets, those two countries could be alot less helpful, and the Terrorist could work in their backyards. So we have to pay our way for those two. The rest? Such as Israel, we are giving them Billions in order to have our Air Bases there close to the enemy in the surrounding areas. We used to give them 8-Billion a year, I think it's been reduced to 4 now, not sure, exactly.

I just get sick of all the give-a-ways, when we can't even have school over here unless the parents (In some states) go out and buy Pencil and paper. Something wrong with that picture. Oh well, I guess some day the people will get sick of it, and complain enough for things to change. Lets hope!
Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

I was talking to a very rich man once, and the topic of money came up. "Can money buy you happiness?" I asked.

"No that's one thing it can't buy Tom," he said. "But it buys such a good substitute you can't tell the difference."

I thought his answer was perfect.

We all are like that rich man.

Tomper,
They say that "Out of the mouths of Babes" (Or is that Babies?) comes truth.
In your case, it's not that situation, but I have to say that truer words were never spoken. I have to give you a 12 on that one.
I'm impressed! I never heard it said that way before. Good stuff!

Gee Whiz Marva!
I read your comment along with all the rest, but looked a few minutes ago, and I had failed to post an answer...Very Sorry! But to speak about your comment...You're absolutely right, the very kids who are over there fighting in Iraq are later going to end up paying the bill for it in the future. (That bothers me greatly) But I guess that's the way the Government works when paying it's bills. That's Sad....
