Title: Ten to One?
Description: Post counts...
Bad Day - March 11, 2006 07:13 AM (GMT)
I'm curious how the ten to one ratio will work here when there's no way to discern a story post, a critique, and a comment apart. How much should post-count mean for someone posting a story?
Back East I used to drop more comments than crits. Mostly crits for newbies. And I tried to never post more than two stories a month. I never was a popular guy, so I'm thinking my ratio was a bit off and that was the culprit. Or maybe I sucked.
Regardless, if the ten to one ratio stands, how does it work? Has this been discussed already? Should I have referred to the Help page first?

Hey Bad. Don't worry about stats over here. We don't have enough members yet to get into that. If you have something, put it up. We are dying for something to read here.

I agree with Tomper, particularly since there is no way to enforce a ratio. I wouldn't want there to be one.
Everybody just police yourselves.
If you put up a story, just make sure you do a few crits or comments on others to keep up your end of the bargain.
Also, it would be nice to be able to remove stories when they have run their course of comments. I never left stories up long on EotW--a week or two at most.
If we did that, we wouldn't have the board awash in old stories that nobody is looking at anymore.

Hey Badday,
As everyone has said, we do need more stories. It's gotten so Bad that I've begun to read my own, and critque on them.....does that tell you something?

(A little hard of hearing?)
Three 'old' pilots are walking on the ramp toward their Air Planes..
First one says, "Windy, isn't it?"
Second one says, "No, its Thursday!"
Third one says, "So am I. Lets go get a beer."

I've always been time constrained. My rule of thumb has always been, If I post one, I immediately go read and comment on some. I do it rounds.
