Anyone who (like me) has fond memories of BBSing and the squeal of the modem would do well to check out http://www.bbsdocumentary.com/ . It's a very well produced and researched series of documentaries (8 in total) that charts the history of the BBS.

Unfortunately it's a bit US-biased and doesn't really touch upon the "scene" that most of us were part of, but it's still fascinating.

It's available through the "usual" sources ;)

I saw this a bit back on EAB but I've still yet to read it in depth. Really goes back to the 'roots' of BBSing. Interesting stuff.
