Thanks for the link to classicamiga :)

I've been trying to think of a way to add some links on my own forum, and hadn't considered just making a forum for it. I'd been looking at actual affiliation and link banner mods, but why make things complicated when all that is really needed is exactly what you have here. :)

And as I like the "friends of..." idea I'm going to add a similar one to my forum (hope you don't mind me nicking the idea!) and will be including oldskool uk and amibay.

I've also already added both into the main classicamiga site, but in our more extensive Amiga directory. But I like the idea of a forum one remaining more personal with only links to sites that we have close links and friends on. :)

DaZZaBoY - December 15, 2007 01:37 PM (GMT)
Harrison,

I'm glad you like the layout and it's a simple but effective method. Feel free to use something similar at Classic Miggy and thanks for the link back. ;)

@Merl: True.. will add Amibench and EAGER soon.

Merlin - December 16, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Amibench? Your works piss up was better than you thought mate.....

Stormbringer has been on fire lately, he has made about 5 new remakes, they are available from retro-remakes.net.

You must be a member and signed into your account to download them.
Nb, these remakes are not available on Intro-Inferno for the moment. I think Stormbringer might be delaying the releases to get more people signed up to the site.

Please visit and give him some encouragement if you can, he's working very very hard to convert these intros so you can run them on your Windows boxes :)

zYX! - December 23, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Just reg'ed on there now... So I'll have to put on my rose-tinted glasses and write off doing anything constructive tonight :)

shockwave - December 24, 2007 01:54 PM (GMT)
Enjoy!

zYX! - January 11, 2008 08:29 PM (GMT)
I just got an email out of the blue from Zeb (ex-a51) as he'd done a random Google search and found his Atmospherical Melodies musicdisk on a51.org.uk.

He's put up an Amiga site at www.pictureinthesky.net that you might want to add to the "Friends of Oldskool" list.

I'm trying to convince him to come on the forum and say hello too.

DaZZaBoY - January 11, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
@zYX:

Hey, nice site. Always good when someone does a nostalgic Google hit and finds you. :)

A nice colly of stuff and worthy of adding to the list, once I get off my lazy ass and add all the others above.

shockwave - January 13, 2008 06:16 PM (GMT)
Not a bad collection at all there, nice link :)

Merlin - January 13, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
@ Dazza

I can recommend Amigamemo, it's worth a look as they have quite a good games archive there of 1000+ games.

http://www.amigamemo.com/

Can you please add a pic and link above?

Ta

Merlin

DaZZaBoY - January 13, 2008 08:25 PM (GMT)
Will do, Merl!

I'll nail all the links one of the nights this week, seriously low on spare time at the mo. :(

hahaha it's alive! :ph43r:

...and here I am! When I get round to it (read: enough time) I plan to place the entire LSD index into a database so it can be searched similar to the applications and games with maybe a direct link to the download containing the disk in question.

I also want to extend the links section by adding many more and writing the "report a dead link" function (it doesn't do anything right now).

Trying to figure out which games to add has been a chore as I have almost all of them (17.5GB). I wasn't much of a gamer back then and have very limited knowledge, knowing only the select few games I played.

I don't have many demos which is why there aren't any on there yet.

My intention for my site was to put a few downloads of Amiga stuff on there too (well there already is, in a crude way).

I'm trying to concentrate on rarer productions if I can though as it's amazing how many old Amiga releases aren't easy to find. If I have something (and it's legal) but I can't easily find another copy using Google, I'm considering uploading it.

Zeb - January 27, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
If you have enough web space I'd upload it even if there were very few entries returned because I think the more places software can be downloaded from the chance of software not becoming lost better.

The Amiga was a damn fine machine and its us, the enthusiasts, that help keep most of the software available.

Please put my Amiga remakes in DHTML site on your links - some don't work these days with the crap microsoft "feature removal" policies, but most do.

Check my sig for the URL..
Optimal viewing in IE5 or IE6.. some loss of function in IE7

All 3 URL's seem to be down at mo? I'll add them once they're active again.
