Title: open letter to dazzaboy

-just noticed all this grapevine argument "yeah i know 2 years too late" and wish to set the record straight on a couple of things

whoever was posting under d-mans name was not darrol and has been playing everyone for cunts , i have recently "first time in 13 years" spoken to darrol on the phone who was actually also unaware of any of this until i pointed it out to him

he is mildly amused by it all and even a little flattered someone had bothered to take the time to mimic him of all people , he also made some unsavory comments about pazza too , he is no longer really interested in the scene so to speak although would like to meet up with some of the people he actually did get along with in the old days

he does conced though that whoever did this was someone who knew him quite well at some stage

he concentrates only on his website these days and if anyone would like to contact him directly they "including dazzaboy" are welcome to mail him to confirm none of these "phantom" forum posts were him and to set the record straight http://www.filmupdatelist.com all the contact details are there

It is definitely out of line for people to assume the names of well know people from the past. And sadly it seems to be becoming more commonplace recently too, so we all need to stay on our toes and make sure we are really talking to the people new members claim to be.

Why do people try to assume the identity of others? They must be sad or just lonely individuals if they cannot represent themselves online for who they are themselves.

@iwasinlsd:

Thanks for the post m8 and a definate turn up for books after all this time.

Recollecting the many arguments over MOST scene forums, someone sure as hell has taken a lot of time and effort to impersonate the real D-Man and also make a purile attempt at defacating on both myself and a few of the other members in here that were behind the nostalgia inspired, GV revival. Whoever this was, it did ultimately turn around and bite him on the arse but the fact remains this must have been one sad, individual to kick off a load of flamewars.

I don't want to go over the whole arguments thing here, as many of our members that were involved the in revival, wish to leave all the BS in the past where it deserves to stay, but if yourself (I'd be interested to know who you are) or the "real" D-Man would like a chinwag on this matter, then feel free to drop a mail along to me at dazzaboy[at]oldskooluk[dot]org.

I may actually drop a mail to the real D-man and see what occurs. :)

Cheers.
