Title: Plug pulled on Devotion diskmag!
DaZZaBoY - August 14, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
After a quick visit to Darkus's
Equilibrium site, I've noticed that the Devotion diskmag project has been cancelled before reaching the first issue.
This is a shame and I was hoping that it would see the light of day at some point in time.
Not really being a regular reader of any diskmag prod nowadays (occasionally HUGI tho), I would have made the effort and took the time to check out this new production but alas it's another idea that was over before it began. :(
Ghandy has also apparently left EQM after producing a grand total of
zip and is these days more interested in digging up 2+ yr old items to pass on as latest news on other scene based sites. Mmm.. * oops! did I bring that up again.

Well what a fucking suprise ;)

Last time i spoke to Darkus he said the diskmag engine was given to another group (cant remember who) but they had no plans to do anything with it at present

Best of luck to them who ever they are, they'll need it.

Just an update.. yeah it was no suprise the mag was cancelled.. :P
I offered what was ready to Alcatraz but they already had Mudia Art almost ready and no need for another magazine.. so the whole thing is gone now!

It was a major bummer that the whole prod imploded before initial release but then again, geting everyone commited and active is usually the hardest part of any project.
What's happening with the other EQM 'ideas in action' ? Have they hit the rails too?

nah the whole lot is down the pan.. I didn`t even go to Sundown this year.. so I guess either way I`m just not interested anymore :)

So I'd better not hold my breath til your 51st ascii colly is released then? :P
Hardly surprising you never attended Sundown this year if this the average clientele in attendance *cough

Ain't nothing wrong with Truck, he's just one of a handful of US Sceners - he goes to every party he can, knows almost every scener. Sure he's not conventional, but there you go. He also writes for Pain, helped out with Nectarine for a long while, and is the frontman of BASS, the worlds #2 demoscene band!
What can I say, Darren? - If only you came to a party, you'd find they get a lot more obscure than Truck. :)

Truck seems to be one of the few that has stuck with the scene through thick and thin, so hats off to the guy.
It was one hell of a picture though, you've gotta admit. :) The link seems to be down now anyway.

It's still in my Picasa gallery. The problem was, I called "Bingen An Rhien (?)" "Bingham" by mistake, which amused a number of Germans!
It'd be like calling Exeter Exadoor or something. Anyhow!
If you read the latest Pain and read what Truck says, he's pretty much the same in real life. He rambles sometimes, but has a deep perverse love of the scene. :)

Yup.. definately a unique type of guy. :)
He did give me some good, constructive feedback over a few past prods of ours but I did take issue with certain comments he made about the validity of musical sources we used, but that's all in the past as far as I'm concerned.
Party on!
