anyone else catch it?
Just watched the first two episodes. It could be a good show.
Things I like:
-Summer Glau as the new terminator protector.
-They don't skimp on the f/x cause it's a tv show.
Things I don't like:
-there's nothing 'new', that you haven't seen before.
Anyway, at least when I started watching the first episode, I was wondering just how this fit into the timeline of the terminator movies, well, that was cleared up in the 2nd episode. It's not. They have actually created an alternate timeline that the tv series takes place in. They leap into 2007 (from 1999, one way portal), skipping the Sarah Conner death, between the 2nd and 3rd movies....and Cameron(summer glau), went back in time to purposefully send them in the future.
So, if you thought the time was confusing before, well now you have a split/alternate timeline! O.O
overall, it's an interesting turn on the franchise.
anyone else have thoughts?
I watched it too and I was thinking the same thing about its place in the continuity of the series.
If I remember correctly in T2 they said judgment day was to happen in 1997, but when they changed history it was delayed until 2005(?).
Now, in T3 they said Sarah Connor died of cancer in 1997, but now they say she died in 2005, so what did they do? I mean, it doesn't really matter if they changed history, she's bound to die of cancer at about the same time, so it's kind of weird that they place it on 1999, I guess they are trying to make it a little more up to date......
Anyway, if John Connor decided in the future that his mom was one of the best fighters he's ever known and sent the girl terminator to protect them both I think there is a chance that might have changed the future, and their jump in time to 2007 changed it even more and probably delayed judgment day to 2011 or something like that, so there is a chance time travel plays a major role in the story, but I'm still trying to figure out the time change......
So far it's entertaining, I hope they don't mess up, you know, being Fox and all.........
^Yea, what Retro said (we were actually discussing that, and how the whole thing kinda pushed it forward, like the timeline changes from T1 to T2)
PS: I'd bang a Terminator version of Summer Glau...yes, I want her. Bad.
Ditto.....ditto athousand times.
