Well guys I loved the original playstation version so much I ran out and bought the psp version.

All and all its the same game. But with a few changes, some good and some bad.

1. The opening movie. Its different, but still very good and stays true to the Playstation opening.

2. Some of the script has been re-written. The story isnt different, but they wanted it to be more old english or something.

3. The options of doing side quests and jobs has been removed. The option still exists but you have to Ad-hoc with a buddy and do them co-op. This is somewhat disappointing as in the ps1 version these quests gave valuable insight in to the lore of ivalance. You could also get extra stuff and characters such as cloud from ff7 if you did well enough. Now I don't know if the secrets are still accesable solo.

4. They've added a melee play. this is a nice addition if you have a buddy to Ad-hoc with. you can use this option to fight your friends, gain exerience, and keep all items you collect. Plus if one of your characters die, they are not dead forever.

5. Its the same game now on the smaller psp screen. I find this frustrating sometimes as the resolution is not as good. I find myself rotating the screen often to make sure of my footing.

Overall its the same great game, but now on the portable convience of the psp.

I don't think I'll buy it, even though I really want to have more access to the Ivalice Alliance arc of the Final Fantasy universe. I just can't play turn-based strategy games, doesn't work for me. I'm starting to get better in real-time strategy with Starcraft, but I played Advance Wars again some time ago and it just doesn't do it for me. Shame.

Hated this game. Hated it with passion. The story may have been good...but I just couldnt keep going. I suck at strategy games T_T
