Title: ROUND 2: LINK VS VIEWTIFUL JOE
retrohelix - February 26, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
ElBatto - February 26, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
Link is cool and all but Veiwtiful Joe would be able to take him pretty easily.
Thus Spoke Tim - February 26, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
Viewtiful Joe. Henshin-a-go-go, etc.
Twilight - February 26, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
Ah, but Link can don the Fierce Deity's mask, or better yet, the Giants Mask and squish Joe like a bug.
Link could defend himself from Joe's fast karate moves by using Nayru's love, or the Magic Armor.
ZL-X - February 26, 2007 04:58 AM (GMT)
He would only be able to squish Joe if he could actually catch him!
As for the fierce deity mask: Not a problem. Link may be more powerful with it on, but Joe is still faster, and also bursts into flame when done long enough.
Nayru's Love/Magic Armor: Yes, it Nayru's Love would do the the trick, as long as you have enough magic. Same with the magic Armor and rupees, If you can hold out it works well. But, how long can you hold out?
BadPixel - February 26, 2007 07:06 PM (GMT)
this ones tough, i think im gonna wait for a few more arguments before i cast.

The same can be said for Joe. If his VFX meter runs out he's almost completly powerless. Joe depends on his VFX meter to survive, where as Link is powerful without his magic meter.
And if Joe is too fast for Link to hit, he can use Dins Fire if Joe ever gets within hitting range. Joe will eventually deplete his VFX meter by using his powers, and when he does Link will easily defeat him.

Normal Joe still know Kung-Fu, or at the least fighting techniques, though. He can still be a match! :D

Hard choice, but I vote for Link.
At first, Joe could defeat Link, but only if he doesn't use too much of his powers, if he does and turns into normal Joe, Joe has no chance.

WHo says V-J would have to use all of his power?
Besides, it's not like normal Joe is defenseless...he still can beat the shit out of Metal robots!

Even so, normal Joe is no match for a fully equipped hero.
ZL-X - March 3, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
Normal Joe can samsh robots made of METAL to bits...I'm sure Joe could punch through Link if he felt the need for it...

Hypothetically putting one contestant at their weakest and the other at their strongest does not a good argument make.

Alright then. If both Link and Joe fought at full strength, Joe would eventually use up his powers. But if Link lost his magic all he needs to do is drink a potion and he is ready to fight again. And if joe happens to down Link before his VFX meter runs out, Link can use a fairy in a bottle and revive himself.
ZL-X - March 4, 2007 02:31 AM (GMT)
You do realize that Joe's VFX meter refills as well, right? So, Link could knock the Viewtiful-ness out fo Joe, but it would only be a minute until he gets vuewtiful again (his meter doesn't need to fill up all the way for him to don his superhero outfit again). SO.....If you take who runs out of what approach to who would win....Link has 4 bottles. If three were filled with magic potions, and one with a fairy...after you use those, no more left, VFX never completely runs out.
Twilight - March 4, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
This fight seems to be very evenly matched now, eh? I guess whoever exploits their foes weakness'es the best will walk away the champion.

one minute is enough for link to pawn his ass....
Not official yet, but I think I'll vote for Link....

Good luck hitting with a sword a man who can slow down time, then speed it up when he has a good chance to strike.

Good luck to Joe for actually finding Link. All Link needs to do is put on his Stone Mask, and people think he is invisable. Joe cannot hurt someone if he cant find them.
Thus Spoke Tim - March 4, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
But what are the odds that Link will have all these masks around?
Twilight - March 4, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
Link has a magical bag that carries any item he finds, and converts it into a smaller item until removed from the bag. The bag is also limitless, and very light to carry.
Gambitmo - March 4, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
If he can do it in MM, he can do it, period.
Again, if you think Link, you have to think all Links, put together 8)

haha! there is no way YOUR Link could have the Stone Mask! For the reason being that the Stone Mask is only avaiable in Termina...which is another dimension....Your Link is the TP, Link, correct?
Even if he had the STone Mask. Here's how VJ can get around it. When he goes into mach speed, He starts birning up (i.e. the oxygen around him) not only that multiple Joe start flaring up fom behind to attack. Even if Link was invisible, He'd have a hard time getting close to Joe.
Twilight - March 5, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
Link can dodge Joe's mach speed by using the Gorons Mask. Everyone knows that Gorons are resistant to fire.
And read Gambitmo's last post.
Hellstorm - March 5, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
Link is such a weakling, he gets hurt from touching enemies. What the fuck is that?
VJ ftw!
Twilight - March 5, 2007 03:23 PM (GMT)
Joe would get hurt if he touched a flaming slug, or a plant with razor sharp teeth. :(

I would get hurt too if I touched a snail's shell.
Twilight - March 5, 2007 04:52 PM (GMT)
You mean the snails with spikes on thier back? Yes, they would hurt me to if i touched them.
Hellstorm - March 5, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
No, I'm talking normal snails. And furry creatures.
You can't cover it up, Link is just a fucking
Bubble Boy.
Twilight - March 5, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
Those are fictional creatures, no one but Nintendo knows how powerful they are. They could be as strong as a bear for all we know.
Hellstorm - March 5, 2007 07:07 PM (GMT)
That doesn't take away that touching them is in fact harmless.
Twilight - March 5, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)

I don't remember such sorcery in Twilight Princess, nor any of these crazy super-powered masks you people keep mentioning.
Let's stick to rational arguments, people?

I admit, the bag was made up, but the masks were real. They are in the game Majora's Mask.

Goron's can still get hit alot...but this isn't young Link we are talking about....and he didn't get to keep any of his masks......
and why are we talking about about flaming slugs, and sharp plants? Bith characters (if touched) would get hurt. I don't remember them being apart of this battle....*really confused*
Also to lay this 'mask' thing to rest:it takes time for the effects of Link's masks to actually work! (at least with the Goron mask). DO think if Link succeeded to put one mask on and use, VJ would let him put other masks on? VJ could probably unequip Link of any masks on him, before he can even blink!
P.S. I like these arguements! Nice battle! :D

You keep saying "Masks". Twilight Princess didn't have masks.
And he had no real means of traveling through time to OoT's timeframe, then transporting himself into any parallel dimensions such as Termina.
Next person to say "Masks" is getting pistol-whipped.
