Second trailer, http://uk.promotions.yahoo.com/transformers/ , it officially sucks ass D:, "directed by Asshole Bay".............I feel raped, my ass hurts D:

lusvell - December 20, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
that just...sucked.

lusvell - December 20, 2006 07:18 PM (GMT)
I mean...hearing Megatron's sweet voice, on an insect looking mofo? Not my idea of a great movie...

ZL-X - December 20, 2006 09:13 PM (GMT)
Okay after seeing the new trailer here are my thoughts:

the good:
-The special effects are good. No one is denying that...its ILm for fucks sake!
-Okay, okay, Optimus doesn't look that bad.

the bad:
-ugh....fucking Scorpinox. I hope to god that's just another transformer before he finds a vechile form....
-that sound...voice...thing was wierd.....
-I may have liked the trailer more if Michael Bay's name was plastered over the ebtire thing.

retrohelix - December 22, 2006 04:39 PM (GMT)
Look guys, Michael Bay's staff was saying that they redesigned the TF's because the transformations are presumably "unbelievable," so take a look at this and tell me why he couldn't do something like this:

Optimus Prime figure

Starscream figure

Now I understand Megatron's gun mode is way too unrealistic, considering the guy is as tall as prime, but in gun mode is just as small any bot their size can grab him, but even with that take a look at this:

Megatron figure

Now why the fuck did Bay made them look so "man-made"?

ZL-X - December 22, 2006 10:51 PM (GMT)
I actually think its because they want the transformations to look "Hollywood"-ish. If you get what I mean.

But as for Megatron...I don't mind if he's a tank. In fact the Mragtron tank toy is kick ass!

retrohelix - December 23, 2006 01:07 AM (GMT)
I agree, a tank would have been nice if they had kept the body as it is in the toy : /

lusvell - March 30, 2007 06:06 AM (GMT)
^Wait, he has a face?

God, these things piss me off more and more by the minute >:[

SolarKhan - April 8, 2007 09:01 AM (GMT)
we all need faces..

ZL-X - May 3, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugi Weaving is the voice of Megatron in the film, but Frank Welker is the voice in the game...what kind of fucking bullcrap is that?
This will be the only time you will hear this but...SCREW HUGO WEAVING. *ahem*

Also, I've notice that this lunchables product we have at the store already has the Transforemers robots from the movie plastered all over the back cover. Just thought people would like to know it they want to see the final movie versions of

Barricade
Ironhide
Optimus
Megs
Bumblebee
and Starscream..

retrohelix - May 3, 2007 04:01 PM (GMT)
barricade sounds more like a gijoe than a transformer.........

Post them up buddy.

I'd also like to point out that, as Retro kindly said, this movie should be renamed "Michael Bay's Bionicles".

Seriously. Thats what they look like.

Well, I don't OWN the product ...I've just seen them. Don't worry though, next time I need a meal I'll get the transformers thing.

Also....Optimus has robot lips! :wtf

retrohelix - May 3, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
is there such a thing as robot lips? and yeah, to me they look more like bionicals XD, i read part of the review at "aint it cool news", the guy is a pro bay, so he can't give a review without being bias D:

retrohelix - May 24, 2007 12:05 AM (GMT)
I can't believe I forgot to post this here XD http://movies.yahoo.com/summer-movies/Tran...430/trailers/31
look at what the infidels have done D:

Turbonegro - May 24, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
The original trailer looked cool, but this one makes the movie look a lot more shitty.

ZL-X - May 24, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
eh, I'll still see it. looks like one of those movie's that's not good but not all bad either.

retrohelix - July 6, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
For those who haven't seen this movie yet and don't want to spoil it don't read this, I didn't do an in-depth analysis but it still qualifies as a spoiler....
When the movie started I wasn't really hoping anything good out of it, in fact I thought it was going to suck major ass D:.........but after the first minutes of film I found some similarities with the japanese TF's, where the story usually centers about a group of humans and less on the robots. It got to the point where I said to myself "this might as well be taken as an alternate universe," but as the film progressed I realized how wrong I was, the plot was not worthy of any TF incarnation, it's just an alien movie named Transformers............

The problem with the plot is that it focuses too much on the humans, there are only like 12 o 13 TF's and a ton of people, in fact more than 60% of the entire film was wasted on the humans...........though I cannot deny it had some very good jokes here and there......

Now the action sequences in general were pretty good, but the thing I didn't like was the excessive shakiness and the bad camera angles, most of the actions scenes made no sense, it was only a pile of metal dancing to the screen D:<, it looked like Alien vs Predator for sake's sake.....Aside from that the actions scenes are the only thing that saves this movie from being utter crap, and I'm not trying to compare it with the cartoon from '84, or the movie from '86, but this was not good enough to qualify as an alternate universe.......

About the designs, it's been discussed hundreds of times, they were pretty bad, as much as they say that they look more realistic than the cartoons the transformations were as unreal as they can get.......I also noticed that to kill some time they extended certain transformations, specially Prime's, though Starscream and Barricade look pretty cool at transforming real fast.

Some scenes were pretty good, like when Megatron rips Jazz in 2, or Primes fight with Bonecrusher, but Prime vs Megs wasn't as good as I expected, it wasn't because of the action, but because it was really hard to understan what was going on, the screen was shaking too much, way more than a bubble but......

Action aside, they had a lot of "WTF-that-makes-no-fucking-sense" moments; for example, how is it possible that man made weapons were able to pierce their armor, even bring Megatron to the ground from 5 missiles, that's pretty much impossible, this was before the final scene....the same happened to the helicopter decepticon whose name I can't even remember XD, it was killed by some bazooka shots in the crotch(?).......I know the cartoon exagerates, but this takes the cake....but what really made me angry and laugh at the same time was the ridiculous scene with the Allspark, that fucking giant cube bitch nigga transformed itself from a 3-story cubic shit to a size 5 soccer ball, and just about heavy enough for Sam to carry it around, that contradicts the production statement about Megatrons and Soundwave's transformations being too "unrealistic......"

Another weird thing was the blonde analyst, she looked like a fucking model, and with that big as tatoo on her neck there is no fucking way she even knows how to turn on a fucking monitor D:

Now the final part, in my opinion it was anticlimactic, Megatron dies because Sam kinda forces the cube into his chest, he only grunts and his ass is dead, that contradicts what Prime was trying to do when he said he was going to fuse the cube with his spark, and all the shit about being raw power and all..........I mean, there were no cool special effects, no lightning and shit, he just fell down with his chest fried..............<_<.........and the worse thing was that they killed most of the decepticons, only 2 survived, Scorponok and Starscream, Jazz died, and as far as I know they don't die for being cut in half, it's not like they bleed out or something D:

Anyway, if you see this movie and you don't know anything about TF it's cool, if you are a fan then you might as well just imagine this is anothe alien movie with the name Transformers......and Megan Fox, sexy cunt, her acting sucks, but with a body like that who gives a shit :evil
My rating: 5/10 :fyou

ZL-X - July 6, 2007 05:41 AM (GMT)
yep, yep...I agree with everything said....of course. If you didn't know TF, this would probably be the best movie ever.

Sadly, for most of us here...that's not the case. <_<

the allspark, to me, made no fucking sense what-so-ever.....honestly, WHAT THE FUCK!

Also...fucking Optimus robot lips! >:(

lusvell - July 6, 2007 04:09 PM (GMT)
Some people over at GT took it to the heart man. Cant they take that some people just didnt like it?

I mean, they are all screaming "OMFG BEST MOVIE EVA!!!" But werent they doing the same thing with 300?

retrohelix - July 6, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
300 is still the best movie of the year, that fucking pwned anything that may come out this year, not even Diehard can top that.........

As for gt, this is gonna sound weird, but it looks like the movie has fanboys, specially the bay ones, it was expected that some of us were not going to like it, i mean, this movie was made for the new audiences, not the old folks like us, their target audience will always be the young ones, and if this makes hasbro sell more toys they won't care if this kills the original story............

Turbonegro - July 6, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
Eh, movies in general are overhyped and overrated.

lusvell - July 6, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
So I found this post at another forum...and it's basically the whole damn truth. Take the time to read it.

It's exactly what you've just said, that you think he's got talent in visual stylization.

No, he doesn't.

He hides behind:
a) shaking the camera
b) constantly moving the camera
and c) overlighting the scenes for light flairs.

He mimics other people's styles constantly, but because he cuts so quickly, is always moving the camera, and overlights the scenes, no one can see that.
Also: He doesn't have a clue how to direct actors.

And people see his movies because they all have a prior fan base. The Rock, because of Connery and Cage in the same movie. Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers were all based on prior-existing material, that would drive people to see it, one way or another. And BB had Will Smith, Harbor had Ben Affleck, and TF has Shia LaBeouf.
Armageddon, people were drawn in by Willis.

The only movie of his without a prior fan base is The Island.
And that didn't make a profit.

It doesn't take skill to make money when you work from material that anyone will go and see at the movies. **His ability to be a hack yet, get the box office he gets has to be some sort of skill.** Yes, it's the skill of working from material that people instantly recognize.

So, yes, you can always pull the "well, he makes money" card. However, that does not mean he makes quality movies.

And as I've said, I don't begrudge him for making money. I begrudge him because a lot of people think he's a visionary director, when he has no new visual style. He just has a lot of money, and special effects.

If he were just a special effects artist, I'd like him. If he were just DP (Director of Photography), I'd like him, because if a good director were behind the camera, they could use a steadicam op, keep the camera moving, but not overly light the scenes (I'm sure Bay would push for that, but no sane director would do that). If he were a Producer, I wouldn't be this against him. Although: THE BIRDS?!?! You. Don't. Remake. Hitchcock. Number 4 rule of Producing, so far as I'm concerned.

But as a director, stories and characters get lost in his attempt to show off as a director. His directing style, as people have said before, is like a 4-year-old directing... "Hey mommy, look at me, look over here, I'm directing! Look!! You're not looking! Look, I'm directing!"
He doesn't know how to tell a story. He knows how to get good special effects.
He fails to keep the camera invisible, or anything close to invisible.

I think that it's not always a bad thing to move the camera around. But it is if Bay is doing it, because he doesn't do it well. (See: Mission Impossible 3, Live Free or Die Hard)

retrohelix - July 6, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
^true that, it pretty much sums up bay's abilities as a director XD
