http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3CdNgoC0cEHere's the full story.
http://dailybruin.com/news/articles.asp?id=38958Don't know where to post this otherwise--but watch it.
I should note: the law is outlined for all to follow.
However, this is just pathetic.

It's pretty disturbing, but the kid should have just got up the first time and left. I'm not excusing their power trip in any way... but seriously... take your day in court, and save your self from unneccesary pain. Unless of course the kid physically couldnt stand up... then that is a totally different story, but I couldnt tell if he was actually unable to or just trying to make a point.
still... thats fucking rediculous.
But seriously, if this happens to anyone they need to not be a martyr, get those officers information, and get a signiture from everyone there about what happened, and take it to court. Getting tazed 5 times for the sake of principle is unnessesary.

You cant get up. You are parilized for 45-60 seconds after being tazered.

They told him to stand up and he wouldn't. They warned him . The stupid kid shoulda just listened Instead trying to be a hero.

Here's what I posted in the other thread about this....

How sick is this?? I love how they say "All we want you to do is get up." Ummmm Hello?? You know how many volts you just ran through him?? Excuse him if he's muscles aren't exactly working right and he's having trouble standing.
|
He wouldn't stand up?? More like he couldn't stand up.

He could talk, but maybe your right. Even so I think this whole thing is being over blown. Its two cops who were trigger happy, in the grand scale of things this means nothing.

Actually it still makes a difference. This kinda crap is happening all over place now, this just happened to be videotaped. I mean hell what if they killed the kid. They had to drag him out the door because he couldn't stand up not because he wouldn't. I'm sorry but im not gonna sit here and make excuses for this rediculous behavior.

Talk?? Sounds like screaming and beggin to me. Then another student asks for the cops badge numbers and is threatened with the taser as well. So in the grand scale it is pretty important.

How does weither or not he was screaming or begging matter in the grand scale of things?

Are you really that stupid?
I hope you are tasered one day for not showing your ID.
If I had been in that library I would have grabbed the nearest heavy object and hit one of the police scum over the head with it. No jury would convict me.

A taser is meant to be a non-lethal alternative to using a fire-arm. It is definitely out-of-place to use such a response on someone who has already agreed to leave the premises.
Examples of police self-importance of which I'm aware:
. Defect notices on vehicles where the officer cannot have inspected the alleged defect;
. Defect notices where police cannot interpret the correct paperwork;
. Conveyance in caged vehicle of one person who has demonstrated no attempt to escape;
. Excessive "random" drug searches.
I am tired of msm tv shows like "Cops" which seek to convince the general public that such violations of protocol are necessary to keep the peace. They pick the wildest incidents possible, and then tell us that these are "every day" events.

When it is really their daily activity to drive around lazily and harass people for being poor.

You forgot: Keeping donut shops in business. :blink:
Cabbages - February 10, 2007 09:27 AM (GMT)
I have not yet seen a police officer occupying a donut shop. What i do see is they like to stand inside of gas stations that employ attractive younger women late at night. But i do not go to donuts very often.
