Title: Hinckley Bush Connection

silas - November 13, 2006 06:04 PM (GMT)
I watched a program yesterday concerning the story of John Hinckley and the events that led to the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan. I remembered hearing about an AP news article relating the strange tale of John's brother, Scott, having a dinner engagement with Dubya's brother, Neil Bush, the day after the shooting. I typed "Hinckley Bush" into a search engine and found this.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

There was also a drill called '9 lives' scheduled to be carried out the day after the assination attempt.

I believe Hinckley DID NOT shoot Reagan...

I also think the intended target was Brady since he was the 1st shot, shot point blank in the forhead, and it was the ONLY one of the devaster .22 bullets to erupt which makes me think it was the only devaster bullet in his gun.

"Hinckley fired six shots from a .22-caliber pistol, with Devastator bullets, hitting Reagan press secretary James Brady...
The Devastator bullets were designed to explode on impact, but only the one that hit Brady in the head erupted.
Brady was permanently impaired by the bullet that struck him in the head, and has become an advocate of gun control. He was the namesake of the Brady bill, which temporarily imposed a five-day waiting period for gun purchases, and he and his wife, Sarah, founded Handgun Control, a lobbying group devoted to limits on firearms including assault weapons along with handguns." -Arizona Daily Star

Hinckley hit Brady with a .45. A Secret Service agent planted the .22

Another Secret Service agent popped Reagan in the chest with some kind of silent pneumatic weapon when he jumped on top of Reagan to "save" him.

Reagan made sure he was taken to GW University hospital rather than the killing fields at Bethesda; and once he was there Reagan dismissed the Secret Service and had his security provided by Navy midshipmen fresh off a boat which had just docked that day.

Hope this helps.

What up Total!

That's all juicy. Are there any places more to read about that? Was there ever a doctors report on Brady?
