Mohamed Atta and Abdulaziz Alomari check in at the US Airways counter at Portland International Jetport Airport.

They are wearing ties and jackets. Atta checks in two bags, Alomari none. Atta is randomly selected for additional security scrutiny by the FAA’s Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System (CAPPS) (see (6:20 a.m.-7:48 a.m.) September 11, 2001). However, the only consequence is that his checked bags will be held off the plane until it is confirmed that he has boarded.

Noting that their flight is soon due to leave, the ticket agent who checks them in, Michael Tuohey, says, “You’re cutting it close.” [Portland Press Herald, 3/6/2005
http://web.archive.org/web/20050308004944/...306terror.shtml ] Tuohey thinks the pair seems unusual. He notices they both have $2,500 first-class, one-way tickets. He later comments, “You don’t see many of those.” Atta looks “like a walking corpse. He looked so angry.” In contrast, Tuohey says, Alomari can barely speak English and has “a goofy smile, I can’t believe he knew he was going to die that day.” Tuohey will later recount, “I thought they looked like two Arab terrorists but then I berated myself for the stereotype and did nothing.”

Atta becomes angry when Tuohey informs him he will have to check in again in Boston. He complains that he was assured he would have a “one-step check-in.” [9/11 Commission, 8/26/2004, pp. 2 pdf file;

Tuohey will be recalled to work later in the day to speak to an FBI agent about his encounter with Atta and Alomari. He is shown video footage of them passing through the airport’s security checkpoint upstairs (see (Between 5:45 a.m. and 5:53 a.m.) September 11, 2001). Although recognizing the two men, he notices that in the video they are no longer wearing the jackets and ties they’d had on when checking in just minutes before. He assumes they must have taken these off and tucked them into their carry-on baggage. He is also informed that the security camera behind his own desk, which should have captured the two hijackers, has in fact been out of order for some time.

yeah, and then Atta finds out that his ColganAir/USairways flight lands in Boston Logan's UNLUCKY B terminal -- which is actually terminal B1 and Terminal B2, separated by a parking lot.

and his flight lands in B2, and he's gotta pass OUT of security, hoof it across the parking lot, and into B1 area, which means going BACK through security to get to gate B26 (or B32) -- WoodyBox has a great article on how AA11 departed from either B26, or B32, or maybe Both gates (hint: one plane was not actually AA11!)

that is alot of risk for Mr Atta & al-omari -- they apparently nearly miss AA11 -- the big-deal alquada terror mega event that they have planned for years -- and if they (as pilots) aren't on board -- the hijacking can't come off, no WTC1 impact, no WTC1 collapse --

kinda strange that Atta would have flown from Portland Maine first, to then connect -- i mean, what if that ColganAir flight had been delayed, or late, or whatever?

makes no sense -- other than to "avoid security cameras at Boston Logan" -- which Boston Logan was not even using --

OR if you think like me, it DOES make sense that Atta and Al-omari "get noticed on security cameras somewhere" without directly implicated American Airlines --

at the end of the day, even if you call, beg, or threaten American Airlines, they will NOT confirm that Atta or al-omari were ever on that flight --

my 2 cents.

CNN Interview with Ticket Agent Michael Touhey, Touhey reportedly checked in Atta

Zaphod 36 - January 12, 2008 02:18 PM (GMT)
TOUHEY: When I just gave them the ticket, I gave them the boarding cards for the Boston flight. And he says -- he says, "Isn't this -- isn't there one-stop checking?" And I said, "No, you're connecting to American Airlines down in Boston."
CNN

The gate agent who checked in Mohamed Atta and gave him his boarding pass told the FBI that she remembers him showing up for Flight 11 late, his face covered with sweat, the source says.
WorldNetDaily

I think Touhey is lying. He claims he gave them the boarding cards for the Boston flight. The gate agent in Boston also claims she gave Atta the boarding pass.
As I know, a boarding passes always makes it possible to check the luggage through to the connecting flight automatically.
But the non-english-speaking person at the ticket and check-in counter(Al-Omari?) has checked in his bags and got his boarding pass there.

Where has Atta got his boarding pass for his American 11-flight? Are there cameras on the American Airlines ticket and check-in counters in Boston?
