JUST RELEASED ON CNN WHEN PLAYING HIS CHRISTMAS ADD-- sick bastard !

Reggie_perrin - December 19, 2007 12:21 AM (GMT)
Why is Huckabee doing so well in the polls ? i mean a few weeks back he was literally out of the running, are we to believe people have all changed there minds all at the same time and decided Huckabee's there man ? something fishy going on with this. What has caused so many people to turn to Huckabee ? is the the religious block coming out in support of him ? i find his pandering to the religious block vomit inducing, this guy is DANGEROUS and would be a total disaster for America imo.

aast...why do you always post in hyperbole with nothing to back you up? Here's the press conference link with the relevant part coming at about 2:45.

No fan of Huckabee here...but geeeez, he was clearly attempting to make a joke.

It is quite bizarre... I just think people are brainwashed by the tv. ... I work with this guy who liked Thompson but all of a sudden now likes Huckabee. Mind you he is crazy christian that believes hell is in the center of the earth. And that to many people are going there thus causing global warming.

You should introduce him to scuzzlebutt, they'd have a field day.

I viewed the ad brifely, did he actually say: Ron Paul is dead, meaning he's going to be assassinated, like rumors I've been hearing, or was it indirect, or just a figure of speech.

Would like to find out exactly what he meant.

just a warning, I heard a rumor that admins are banning people for 3 days if they find posts in wrong spots.

This definitely is a 'maybe' to ban.

agreed. Ron Paul is a Christian, and he's specifically said he's not running on that issue. That it would be distasteful.

I wonder if Huckabee is the elite's answer to Ron Paul, to make him look sort of like Paul by mirroring some of the issues they talk about, stealing votes from him, and hopefully making him lose.

Like Ralph Nader was in 2000. I called him "Darth Nader", because he stole votes from Gore, but we now know that Gore is just a stooge too.

 umm, no. Threads which are in the wrong section are simply moved to the right place. Where may I ask did you hear this rumor?
It would be different if the same user kept doing the same thing, making it obvious it was a show of stubborn defiance.

Why is Huckabee doing so well in the polls ?

Two reasons:

1) He's extremely charismatic and a very good communicator. Next time you watch him speak, notice how the moves his head or blinks his eyes strategically to emphasize certain words or sentences. Few people have that in politics anymore. Bill Clinton would be another example.

2) Massive media coverage that has made people look at him, and they like what they see. The Guiliani/Romney race just got kind of boring and since Thompson has basically crashed right out the gate, the media needs a story to keep people interested. Why do you think that, after months of saying Clinton had the nomination locked they suddenly see a threat from Obama.

Actually Lin I believe Gideon said that in a thread somewhere but I believe it was out of frustration. However people should know what section their thread belongs in.

Understandeable, but since the definition of the "Lounge" section has an "everything goes" take, I don't understand what the problem is. Also, more people visit the Lounge than any other section of the board.

Sometimes I feel like certain admins get a bit carried away with the authority they'vebeen given on this board, which is ironic when you consider the nature of the subject matter being discussed.

Reggie_perrin - December 19, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
Can't believe Huckabee is even trying to deny that floating cross thing, it's so obvious.

he is close, but no cigar, hell is in the middle east, on surface of the earth, not the center.

I'm tired of the same people posting Ron Paul threads in the Lounge over and over so I made the rule and it only concerns Ron Paul threads.

I dont expect everybody to post correct topics in their correct forum 100% of the time...but 4 Ron Paul threads in the Lounge in just a few hours when it's obvious when you scoll down that they get moved everytime...come on now.

We're just trying to keep things organized around here and are asking members to help us out...is that really too much to ask?

We have better things to do than to keep moving Ron Paul threads to where they belong.

Reggie_perrin - December 20, 2007 11:56 AM (GMT)
I think some people have misunderstood what Huckabee was doing, he was joking that if his ad was played backwards it would say "paul is dead"... the paul is dead is a reference to an old Beatles myth about Paul dying in a car crash and being replaced by an impostor after which the Beatles put clues in there music referencing McCartney's death, some people reckon if you play some of there records backwards they reveal hidden clues like "I BURIED PAUL" etc , Huckabee was trying to play down the presence of a floating cross in his add, which was clearly deliberate.

look-up - December 20, 2007 03:31 PM (GMT)
Reggie, you're probably right. Can't believe people got all bent out of shape about it...

still, it's really strange coincidence that Ron Paul is talking on CNN as below it says "Paul is Dead" over and over...

Yeh, i think one or two people didn't get the Beatles reference and thought Huckabee was talking about Ron paul. Still Huckabees lying out of his ass by saying the cross thing wasn't deliberate, it was so blatantly obvious it was carefully highlighted in the back ground, the people who make those ads are VERY careful about the back drops to political ads, nothing is there by chance.

I think the ticker thing was just that, a coincidence.
