100% wing root thingy.
It has been proven with a scale model and a desk lamp over at the pilots for truth forums. That 'pod' is absolutely definitely the wing root faring(sp?) and not extra equipment.

well, you provide a light source striking an accurate scale model at the same angel, and the same 'pod' effect is created, even from different angles, just like the videos and pictures. The pod is a simply shadows. Whatever works.
