Title: 9/11 Evidence Towards Empire World Order?
Description: Negri & Hardt's works provide context

I've recently been reading through Antonio Negri & Michael Hardt's Multitude, sequel to Empire. I feel like their delineation of capital's transition into a post-modern, network-organized, supranational system provides an accurate context for the 9/11 cover-up. Afterall, in this rocky transitional period which is seemingly leading to the fall of the era of America's hegemony, 9/11 provided a perfect excuse not only for more authoritarian homeland policies, but for interventionist wars to control the world's oil spigot, a necessity for any capitalist hegemonic power (professor, and prominent social-geographer David Harvey elaborates on this second point in both The New Imperialism and A Brief History of Neoliberalism). Perhaps what this hails for us, the multitude working to expose the cover-ups and lies, is not a return to paleoconservative social structures, or even voting liberal, but a progression forward from the era of capitalism itself, and into some non-hierarchical, autonomist and socialist construction of society. After all, we've seen to what degree power corrupts the ruling bourgeois class, even though they're "democratically" elected representatives. Perhaps we must consider truly revolutionary change in the construct of society, in order to fulfill our responsibilities as citizens of the nation that constructed such a catastrophe, and begin to take direct democratic control of our communities, workplaces, and social spheres.
