Yeah it could,but The Game isn't on L's level,she's a legend,she should make music with hip-hop legends,not with rookies
Glenn - March 19, 2006 07:04 PM (GMT)
I don't like it either!! but you are right sybille.. mabye it sound good...
ddd - March 19, 2006 07:07 PM (GMT)
shit,I could expect for Wyclef to do a collabo like this, not L
sybillecutey - March 19, 2006 07:09 PM (GMT)
Well, kanye produced it and heīs considered a hip hop legend, so... ;)
Stine - March 19, 2006 07:13 PM (GMT)
The Game  What's wrong with you Lauryn?! But it's good that Kanye produced it... and I think the title sounds cool!

He's not hip-hop legend (maybe producer legend),when I say legend,I mean LL Cool J,Rakim,Ice-T,Dr Dre...L is on their level, not on the level of some rookie that copies Eazy-E,and who are trippin' like he was in NWA

I agree, but itīs just a guest appearance on his album, not hers or the fugees album.

ddd - March 19, 2006 07:27 PM (GMT)
and why this topic is in The Tunes section, shouldn't this topic be in The News section?
and how reliable is the source of this information?

Exactly - That's why I don't think we should move it to The News (Yet).
Louise - March 19, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
on this fan site it says L's featured on the album...also says Damian Marley's gonna be on it...

Ok you all aer being a little too superficial. So what if Game isn't a legend, what if he has a good message to spread? Maybe is message is so powerful, that Lauryn agreed with what he was trying to convey and she wants to be apart of it. If you all didn't know, that's how the Jperiod mixtape came about. Japeriod had to expres to Lauryn what music meant to him, and then when she saw the profundity in what he was saying then she agreed to do it. I think thats exatly whats going on now.
The Conquering Lion - March 19, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
AAAATTTT least it is not 50 cent, which i would expect L to never ever to
LostOnes - March 19, 2006 11:17 PM (GMT)
Hmm, i'm not sure about this - but didn't we hear rumours this was happening months ago?
IF it does happen, it'll be interesting to see how it turns out - :o Maybe she might finally sing! They could do the 'normal' singer/rapper duet - she sings the chorus, he raps the verses and she sings the bridge before the final chrous.
IF it is going to happen, i doubt she'll rap, she has a better flow then The Game, she'd make his lyrics look weak.
I have to agree with Amilcar a bit though, so what that The Game isn't a legend, he's still really popular. Personally i don't really listen to him because he's too 'commerical' and i don't think i get anything from commercial rap - but some of his songs aren't too bad (Hate it Or Love It). The only real problem i have with The Game is that he started out with 50 Cent and i can't help but assosicate the two and i HATE 50 cent with a passion. <_<
Louise - March 20, 2006 08:54 AM (GMT)
i quite liked the Game's Documentary when it first came out...especially 'Dreams', but it's all this bullsh*t 'beef' with 50 and EVERYONE else that does my head in. He's definitely not a legend, but think of it the other way round, if L can bring some depth to the superficial commercial rap world, then it's all good as far as I'm concerned. L is in a unique position, a commercially viable artist with the depth of thought and strength of character to make music about what she believes in, not what the industry want to hear...but teaming up with an artist like the Game will bring that message to a whole new audience, why shouldn't she do it?
ddd - March 20, 2006 11:25 AM (GMT)
What message?lol I actually liked The Game,I saw his videos Hate It Or Love It,Dreams and How We Do,and I actually liked the songs, and when my friend gave me his album to check it out,I played it and after 5 or 6 songs,I paused the cd,and I was like "OMG How many times did he said Dr.Dre,2pac,Eazy-E and NWA?",like he's rappin about them and not about him,I already listen to these artists,he don't have to tell me what they did,he should talk about his life, his experiences, the way how he feels, his thoghts, not "Eazy-E did this,Nwa did that...etc",so please, about what message are we talkin' here?,hmmmmmm <_< maybe the rest of the album has some messages.....I don't know,I haven't heard whole album, and I don't wanna hear it

and to all Game's fans on the board, don't get me wrong,I'm not dissing Game,I'm just talkin' my opinion about his music, from what I heard, who knows, maybe I'm wrong
Louise - March 20, 2006 11:52 AM (GMT)
i meant L's message...in the sense that she's not gonna collaborate on a track that means nothing (at least i'd hope she wouldn't), so if someone like the Game (who doesn't exactly have much substance to his lyrics most of the time), works with Lauryn, then maybe she can bring some depth out of the track that we haven't previously seen from him as an artist.
sybillecutey - March 20, 2006 03:13 PM (GMT)
Personally, at this point, I just wanna hear good new Lauryn/fugees music. Who cares who she collaborates with ( as long as it's not 49 cents)

Right, when you give your opinion, it's not dissing, and when we do give our opinions about certain people's music ( you know who :whisle: ), we're straight up dissing right ? :P

have you mentioned the tattooed tear under the games eye
If he thinks it's cute, ok I'm fine with that. but for me this tatto looks a bit too feminine for a gangster rapper

LOL... you are so right I.man
Louise - March 20, 2006 06:43 PM (GMT)
some of the american gangs use those tear tattoos to represent the number of people that they've killed
Glenn - March 20, 2006 06:45 PM (GMT)
really Louise? I didn't know that. He have only one tear.. which means he killed a man?
Louise - March 20, 2006 06:48 PM (GMT)
doesn't mean that's why he has it, but that's what it's sposed to represent
sybillecutey - March 20, 2006 06:49 PM (GMT)
I didn't know that either.
Louise - March 20, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
just reading up on it....
Convicts of all races frequently have teardrops tattooed directly below their eyes, giving them the appearance of permanently crying.
These tattoos take on different meanings depending on the place and time they were acquired. Originally each tear drop represented a murder committed. More recently they have begun to represent each of the family or gang members who have died while a prisoner is locked up. Because of the location of the tear on the face, these tattoos are about commitment, an unabashed declaration of the inmate experience.
Prison has literally scarred the convict, a sad fact fittingly expressed with a teardrop. SOURCE:

I wanna see lauryn collaborating with talented people, not with guys who sold the most drugs and became rich an famous after he forced some major label guys to give him a contract

sybillecutey - March 20, 2006 06:59 PM (GMT)
Thanks Louise ( lol, I was gonna write L).
Interesting.
Louise - March 20, 2006 07:01 PM (GMT)
hehe, u could call me L, although it would be an insult to Lauryn, but i'd take it as a compliment! ;)
MarcAnthony - March 20, 2006 07:05 PM (GMT)
Even though everyone is entitled to their opinion, i feel like some of you all should reserve your comments. The Game is a very good hip hop artist. Hes one of the best that is out right now. He delivers a good sound, and a good flow. You havent even heard the track yet, so why are you juding the outcome, and why do you always have to be so negative? I dont get some of you all some times!!!
