I'm sorry I don't understand english very well, can you explain what means "post unplugged song" ;)

Stine - September 4, 2005 08:17 AM (GMT)
Post means after, so it's your favorite song that was made after the unplugged album!

If I have to pick only one song, I have to go with Social Drugs. Mostly because of the lyrics - I like the whole production of the song too, tho' :) Maybe it's also because the song is studio recorded and that makes the quality of it a lot better than some of the other tracks.

Nice topic, by the way!

Stine - September 5, 2005 03:26 PM (GMT)
Yeah they are... I wanted to point out a few songs, but ended up writing down almost every post unplugged song there is (So that's why I had to cut it down to only 1 song; Social Drugs).

Can you post a bigger version of your avatar, Sybillecutey?

Guest - September 5, 2005 04:33 PM (GMT)
Stine what was the song you were talking about on the runboard, the song where she sang "chase him/replace him/face him" ?
What song was it, how did it sound ?
You can see the full picture of my avatar at http://com4.runboard.com/blaurynhilltalk.f...|offset=10

It was a new song - I don't think she has performed it before. I can't really remember what the melody was like, but she was playing guitar if I remember correctly. It was a really strong song, otherwise it wouldn't had made such an impact on me... My sister thought it was about President Bush, but I dunno.

sybillecutey - September 6, 2005 08:07 PM (GMT)
okay,thanks !
So there was no band.

Stine - September 7, 2005 06:40 PM (GMT)
Not as far as I remember. By the way, your new thread over on Runboard (About L and God) is really interesting... I didn't read the whole thing tho' - Just because of some principle I got about not visiting that forum anymore.

Glenn - September 7, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)

lol, yes!

About Runboard... I just don't feel welcome there and I also think we have completely different views on how to run a forum, sharing media and stuff. But I don't wanna say anything negative about them, they also have some great discussions - So you guys should still go there!

Louise - September 11, 2005 11:28 AM (GMT)
i've never really visited runboard, just keep hearing negative things about it and figure i get all the discussions i want here and on Jeff's board!

Glenn - September 11, 2005 12:51 PM (GMT)
I'm a member at the runboard and you are so right Stine.. I've never felt welcome over there.. but they are really fast with news and that's why I go there.

sybillecutey - September 11, 2005 08:25 PM (GMT)
Well, the runboard is not THAT bad,it's just that people over there are such fanatics of Lauryn that they sometimes forget to be friendly with each other. :D

Beita - September 13, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
My two favorite post unplugged songs are "I had to walk" and "Take too much, rich man". I hope she includes this two songs in her next album

By the way does any of you have a clear version of "I had to walk". I got the one @ JazzOpen and the one @ the Chicago concert but I would really like to hear a clearer version.

sybillecutey - September 20, 2005 03:50 PM (GMT)
I think I have another version, i'll try to upload it.

Glenn - September 22, 2005 08:46 AM (GMT)

without a doubt "i had to walk" and "take too much/rich man"..
these songs are universal, anybody can relate to them and the melody and the lyrics are touching yet simple..she performed them the summer in Paris and i was so happy (plus we were a few to know 'em B) )..i'm pretty sure they will be on the album, i just hope that she will find a good balance between her voice and the instrumentation (i.e not a simple guitar like during the chicago concert but not too much either like in Paris this past summer)..also honorable mention goes to damnable heresies, chains and since i found a new love for the same reasons.
peace

Alva - October 4, 2005 10:15 PM (GMT)
I don't think I've heard all her post-unplugged songs, and the ones I've heard are mostly in bad quality with only an acoustic guitar. She performed some new songs on the concert this summer though, and they were really great, I thought it really helped with the band, like when she did a "remix" of I Just Want You Around, and she starts like cha-cha-cha etc lol, (form the stuttgart mp3) I love it, it is so much energy there, everytime I hear it I think back to how it really was, at the concert, when suddenly Lauryn walked out and I was nearly crying, because she was there, only 15 meters away from me! So much energy, and I think the recording I have of that song in Stuttgart really captures that. But I'm just rambling now!!
My favourite is I Had to Walk I think, judging on the new songs she performed on her tour.

itsonlyelliot - October 8, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
Definitely, "I Had To Walk", it's like the window to her soul/life. Amazing.

samsonite - October 11, 2005 10:59 AM (GMT)
im not sure if its post unplugged, but i love "selah", i really related to that song when i first heard it, and its been a favourite since
:)
