DJ Quixotic in collaboration with Lauryn Hill for her upcoming Project

Quixotic, a founding member of the world-renowned DJ crew, The Trooperz, is not only a producer/performer, but an artist in his own right. His unique ability to incorporate his music background in creating original sounds and beats to fuse with other music sets him apart from the others. Being crowned 2004 DMC LA Champion and Shure/Vinyl Kombat Champion and placing 4th in the US DMC competition nationwide, Quixotic’s skills as a DJ have been noticed by the media and have been featured in many publications such as URB magazine and Tablist or on video games such as Scareface on PS2 and Game Cube.

Quixotic is not new to the music production scene. His latest project with the Phonosapiens produced “Wristraining Order” which has been featured on Bomb Records release “Return of the DJ Vol. 5.5.” Jerry Garcia, CEO of NLM Group, says “ Quixotic is a multifaceted person who loves music… I wouldn’t call him a DJ or a musician, but an artist.” Quixotic has also work alongside artists such as Supernatural, Pharcyde, Dilated Peoples, Busta Rhymes, Run DMC, and Black Eye Peas.

this is interesting! i guess all the problems were ironed out!

Whats up everyone…for those of you that know me…and for those that i have spoken to about the situation of the past few weeks…well then you know sorta what has transpired…

…i just want to say…

…we go through life…working hard to get what we want..achieve the goals we set for ourselves…those of us that are brave enough to go for what we really truly deep down want…and know the risks…and sacrifices and pain thats involved in doing so…and then putting in your bood and sweat…then those people know that you have to have thick skin and stay true to yourself and beliefs…

…recently i found myself in the situation of a lifetime…years and years of prerfecting my craft…developing my own style…staying true to myself somehow landed me working with a very big, respected artist…literally me and her…face to face…working on material…someone i (and im sure most everyone out there) went thru high school, middle school or what not listening to….i was excited and at the same time just stayed humble….ive been fortunate enough before in my life to work with respected artists…and share stages with them too..but this was a little different…and i was ready and zealous to handle it…

….alas…like i said…ive shared this experience with my friends…and…to say the least…it has been a rewarding and at the same time dissapointing experience…me and my production partner basicaly spent one random morning (after working with the artist for more than 15 hours straight—with maybe 2 hours of sleep—) contemplating and analyzing the situation…we came to the conclusion that…as excited as we were…we also had to stand up for ourselves…so we walked off the project…we intend to stay off the project until our representative works out the details of a contract (which we were never presented with)—

….what im saying is…i highly respect this artist…and its always interestin to me…in this life ive had…to see that everyones human…everyone has their foibles…and to be honest..this experience has enlightened me even more to the enigma that is an everyday human….

I was confused for a second, then i realised the blog was written on the 8th April and the news on 5th May.

It was interesting to read - they worked in the studio for 15 Hours! At least we know L is busy in the studio (If she's in the studio doing her own album though, what's happened to The Fugees' album :().

Maybe (Syb... ? Stine.. ? :P) someone should e-mail this guy to try and get some information about her album (or at least the direction of the song he was producing).

I found a link to his Myspace btw - http://www.myspace.com/djquixotic - listen to the remixes he has on it. I like 'Aerodynamic Touch' - it's basically a remix of 'Touch It' by Busta Rhymes. This guy is talented, his sound is really different to that of the Miseducation - which is to be expected i guess, as she's grown as an artist and Misedu was released ages ago now.

...although i would love to fill you in on my experiences with Ms Hill...i dont feel comfortable doing so out of respect to the involved parties...i honestly didnt even know the press release was going to be widely viewed so it came as a surprise when i got your message...
...Ms Hill works in mysterious ways and all i concerend myself with was giving her my all and doing it in my style...me and my production partner Defect make music to the left of he usual hip hop...and we vibed well with her for the many many hours we sat with her...

Hmm, i think it's interesting that point out that most people that work with L seem to say the same things. They all sound really humble and grateful to work with her. They all sound really passionate about music and talk about just jamming with L for hours on end.

And yeah, it's seems that while they all worked with L, they didn't really get to know her properly.

if pras can't accurately state a fugees album release date, why would a dj in castaic now what ms. hill and her business associates are planning.
maybe we should contemplate the option that there might not be an album for a long time, if ever. we might want to start focusing more on our lives and, dare i say, walk with him ourselves instead of pouring over minimal references to ms. hill and her new music. have we not learned anythings from the songs we are privledge to?

Anyway, remember when the fugees performed last year at the Bet Awards ? everyone, the whole hip hop community was excited about the reunion, the album etc...There was sooo much hype ! They should have taken advantage of it and released something great, not that lame ass Take It Easy. Now that people heard Take it Easy, they're mad disapointed, and don't want a fugees reunion so much anymore.
