and now it is reyes!

The Sevillian has a sprained ligament in his right knee

José Antonio Reyes was unable to finish today's training session. In order not to run into Higuaín, the forward hit the breaks and injured his right knee. He was immediately attended by the medical staff, who diagnosed it as a sprained internal lateral ligament. Following his press conference, Reyes was taken to the hospital to undergo further tests.

Lady Luck hasn't been on Real Madrid's side of late. To the long list of injured players like Roberto Carlos, Emerson, Guti, Raúl, Marcelo and Cicinho, you now have to add the names of Gago and Reyes. The Argentine suffered a strained hamstring on Saturday at Villarreal and is doubtful for the Levante match. Same goes for Reyes, who hurt his right knee in a fortuitous play during today's training session.
That makes eight injured Real Madrid players who all find themselves listed on today's medical report.

Raúl, Reyes and Emerson recovered

Key players make their return to the team

Raúl, Reyes and Emerson returned to the team in this morning's training session. Fabio Capello is gradually recovering all of his men and soon there will be practically no injured players on the squad. Raúl trained normally, Reyes' sprain eventually turned out to be a bruise and Emerson seems to be fully recovered from his entesitis. Gago didn't train.

On Sunday, Real Madrid will face Levante at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and it seems Fabio Capello will be able to have more men available for the match. Raúl and Emerson joined the squad today for training. Yesterday, the team's number '7' underwent sprinting sessions that anticipated his return and gave signs of the healing of his fibrilar tear.
Emerson is also ready to play. Unlike Raúl, he hasn't been seen working on the pitch this week until today -the press only have access to the opening 15 minutes of training. Gago's contracture gives the Brazilian chances of being a starter on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Reyes sufferd a blow to one of his knees that prevented him from completing the workout. He was taken to the hospital fearing he had sprained his knee, but luckily, he only bruised it. Today, he went back to training as usual. Youth player Torres did some field work as recovery treatment for the strain on the soleus of his right leg.

Sergio Ramos was nowhere to be seen. He trained with Raúl on Wednesday, but neither him nor Salgado worked out with the rest of the squad today in the opening fifteen minutes of the session, which mainly focused on tactical ball work.

TRAINING SCHEDULE:
Friday 2 February @ 11 am CET. Real Madrid City.
Saturday 3 February @ 11 am CET. Real Madrid City.Behind closed doors

i know this a few days late but i thought it was worth saying that cicinho might be back soon!:

Cicinho up and running

With no midweek game to prepare for, Fabio Capello dedicated Thursday's(15) training session to a combination of gym work with the typical field work routine of a conditioning course and foot-tennis. Roberto Carlos laced up his boots but withdrew before his teammates, and Cicinho stepped onto the Valdebebas turf for the first time since being injured in Matchday 4 against Betis.

Cicinho returns
Hats off to Cicinho. The right back took his first steps on the training pitch at Valdebebas today after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament back in Matchday 4 against Betis (at the end of September). Cicinho spent the last five months in Brazil doing rehab, but last week returned to Madrid, where his days on the sideline are numbered. He spent today jogging alongside the fitness expert before heading to the gym.

The Dutchman will not play in tonight's derby

Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been scracthed off Fabio Capello's squad list for tonight's match against Atletico Madrid. The Dutch striker has been niggled since Friday and was unable to recover on time. Aware of the situation, the Italian boss called up 19 players for the derby, and it will be Van Nistelrooy who won't lace up his boots against the Rojiblancos.

Ramos-V. Nistelrooy on the turf

The three Madridista captains continue their recovery work in the gym

One of this week's primary objectives is to recover as many players possible with Sunday's match against Getafe quickly approaching. The team's medical staff and physiotherapists have been working day in and day out to clear out the infirmary. Today, Sergio Ramos and Ruud Van Nistelrooy worked out on the Valdebebas turf, while the three Madridista captains remained indoors.

Sergio Ramos was seen working out outdoors today for the second day in a row. Soon thereafter, Van Nistelrooy joined recovery expert San Martín on the pitch at Real Madrid City. Meanwhile, Guti joined the two other captains, Raúl and Roberto Carlos, in the gymnasium.
The Sevillian defender is favourably recovery from a bruised right instep and should soon rejoin the squad, as evidenced by his fast jogging pace. The Dutchman is also working hard to get over the strained right hamstring which prevented him from playing in last weekend's derby.

On the other hand, Guti, who bruised the left side of his ribcage, stayed indoors at Valdebebas to carry out gym work under the eyes of the Madridista medical staff and physiotherapists.

Raúl's strained left hamstring kept him from taking the training pitch, which can also be said for Roberto Carlos, who's been out for two days now. The Brazilian didn't make the last squad list and is continuing the recovery protocol designed to leave his strained and fatigued triceps behind.

Cicinho's return to the team is imminent. The right back is in the final recover stage of his serious injury -torn right acl- after undergoing surgery last September, and shows up at the Merengues' facilities every morning for an intense dose of recovery drills. The always optimistic Brazilian is hoping to get back to training as soon as possible in order to be of assistance to his team.

Sergio Ramos: Bruised instep of the right foot. Medical treatment and physiotherapy. Gym and field work.

Cannavaro doubtful

Italian centre back has a groin injury relapse
The piece of bad news during this evening's training session at the Allianz Arena came by way of Italian central defender Fabio Cannavaro. A fortuitous strain has caused a relapse of his right groin muscle injury, forcing him to withdraw from training. The Club's medical services will sumbit him to physiotherapeutic treatment before the definitive test, which will be tomorrow before lunch time. The exam will decide if the Madridista player is match fit for the Bayern clash.

R. Carlos and Cannavaro injured

Brazilian fullback out three to four weeks; Italian centre back, some twelve days

The first player to fall injured was Fabio Cannavaro, during warm-up at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, one day before the Bayern match. The number '5' of the Whites has strained the right groin muscle, which in turn has caused an oedema or extensive swelling. Estimated recovery time has been set between 10 and 12 days. Roberto Carlos' injury is more serious. The Brazilian left fullback has partially torn the fascia of his right leg soleus muscle, just underneath his hamstring. Real Madrid's number '3' will need between 3 to 4 weeks of recovery time.

Pepe injured

The defender is out for two to three weeks and will not make his debut with Portugal

According to the medical report, Képler Laveran Lima Ferreira, “Pepe”, was complaining about pain following Thursday’s session, upon which he underwent and MRI that detected a Grade I tear in his right thigh. He will be sidelined for two to three weeks.

Pepe was recently called up by Luiz Felipe Scolari to debut with the Portuguese national team. Although he will not be able to participate, Pepe will go to Lisbon for the pertinent physical.

Pepe is beginning a new stage in his professional career. He is proud to have the chance to don Portugal’s shirt, although his debut will have to be postponed for now.

“I am happy. It’s an important day because I have always declared my interest in playing for the Portuguese national team and they have just given me the call. It’s an honour to play for Portugal,” said Pepe to Realmadrid.com. Pepe, who only received his Portuguese passport this week –and will not occupy a non-communitarian spot on Real Madrid-, is grateful for “all the support received in Portugal” so that he can play for the national team. For now, though, Pepe will have to wait for Scolari’s next call in order to debut.
