Title: Reyes-Baptista swap.
Description: Loan deal.

Spanish press claim that Reyes will be moving to Madrid for a season long loan deal and Bapista will join Arsenal as a part of the deal, sounds like a good deal to me, Reyes doesnt want to play at Arsenal & Baptista wont get to play at Real.

:hmm: intrestin, though i do have different views on this.
it would be a good deal coz reyes wants 2 go back 2 spain and loanin him 2 real isn't a bad idea and if he plays well i'm sure real would pay the money we want for him.
it wouldn't be a good deal coz if reyes wants 2 go back 2 spain what would loanin him achieve he's just gonna come back 2 england then wanna go back 2 spain again. although like i said before real would pay the money we want if he makes a difference.

not sure bout baptista though as part of the deal, no offenice he's a great player but i don't really think he would fit into our style of play. although i could be proved wrong lol

but i do think that we should try the loan deal and see what comes out of it. i mean reyes hasn't exactly played well since comein over here thats prob y real wont pay the money we want for him so if he goes 2 real on loan i'm sure he'll play much better and hopefully *fingers crossed* real would pay the money we want for him.

it's wroth a try!!!!!
also we r gettin the best of both worlds. baptista comes over 2 arsenal and we can see if he fits into our style of play. and reyes gos 2 real and hopfully he's plays much better and real pay some money and baptista in return as long as he plays well, and fits into our style of play.

It is exacly though what Wenger wants and with the addition of gallas and sale of cole and most upsetting Cygan it will be a busy couple of hours.

Both deals are thought to have option to permanent next year though bit weird arsenal didn't sell.

would deadline mean midnight speanish time or midnight engkush time ...they have only got 40 minutes to complete deal although Baptista has apparently had his medical

yep i wish reyes well, i hope he's happy now. and he couldn't have asked for a better birthday present.

now we've got gallas and lost cole but gallas is a good defender.

i wish cygan luck 2 wherever he's gone (can't remember  :o )

i wanna thank each player for what they have done at the club :D

btw arsenal NEED 2 sign some ppl in january :arsenal:

:arsenal:

can understand jose not being able to adapt the the english lifestyle but i speak for alot of english fans 'instead of being a valued player he will just be a number at real madrid' (this being the case at real for a long time)

good luck and thanks for your help bringing past success to arsenal fc. all the best for the future and i think we all hope the loan deal materialises into a permanent swap deal.

arsenal have been missing a 'viera like' player and i think 'the beast' will give us back the steel in midfield. which is also a bonus he will have a pop outside the box and hopefully wont try to walk it in the net and score the perfect goal like the rest of the arsenal team.lol

great deal with gallas!!!

i think reyes will be kicking himslf like viera must have ( when cesc played him of the pitch and we dumped juventus out last season) when we dump real madrid out of the champions league again this season!! come on your gunners!!!!!

Baptista: I'm here to stay

By GARY PAYNE
September 04, 2006

JULIO BAPTISTA has pledged his future to Arsenal and insisted: “I’ll stay as long as I’m wanted.”

The Brazilian star, 24, got his first run-out at the Gunners’ new Emirates Stadium in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Argentina.

Now he wants to make his loan from Real Madrid permanent.

He said: “It was very nice to play at the Emirates and I am so happy to be made so welcome at my new ground. I’m confident I will be a good acquisition.

“Arsenal is a traditional and well-run club. They reached the Champions League final and I hope, with my help, they can do it again this season. I’m happy to sign a four-year contract.

“But after the one-year loan, it’s up to Arsenal if they want to keep me. Hopefully, they will.

“I am very humbled Arsene Wenger was so interested in me. I’ll be very happy to stay as long as the club wants me.”

The attacking midfielder’s advisor Herminio Menendez confirmed Baptista snubbed Spurs before joining Arsenal.

Menendez said: “Real were talking about loaning him to Tottenham and I said ‘Why not Seville?’ But it wasn’t possible.

“Now Julio’s joined Arsenal. At the end of the season the clubs will talk to make it permanent.”
