ok i get why people use 'u', i use it all the time, and 'lol' and all of that i get that as well, but whats the point of 'tyme' when the 'I' is practically next to the 'Y', and 'ryte' thats another annoying one as well, and 'dey' and 'luks'....sorry i'm getting old, and i do english lit at A level, it makes me arsey with grammar hahaha :lol:

i agree u is obvious why u use it but 'mi' is another coz is no sorter than using 'my'!

grrrrr mi, lol there's another one people use as well, but i can't remember what it is, i think it might be 'nyte' if your gonna shorten it, at least change it to 'nite' lol

yh if i do shorten or try 2 shorten words i SHORTEN them not make them the same amount of letters!!

I just read this topic and i totally agree with you all! It is so annoying when you see people writing like that, pretending they are so cool, but most of them learned english from tv and they don't even know how to spell the words. I don't have anything with people who don't speak and spell perfectly a foreign language (it is almost impossible...i make mistakes every time ...in english and spanish too!) but they continue typing like that and they don't even admit they don't speak the language well, they are cool, they say, that's why they spell that way!!! :angry: But when those people are from england or us and they speak perfectly english and they spell like that, i go maaaaaad!!!! :P Same is with spanish kids (i say kids because i didn't talk to spanish grown-ups :D ) they use "x" for everything... "por" is "x", "porque (why or because)" is "xque" "para (for)" is "x" and so on... and i never understand what they want to say with all those "x"s :angry: that's why i learned spanish and bought myself so many and expensive books to know how to speak and write not to see them all now writing with "x" everything so that i can't understand anything!!!

if english is not your first language and you are learning it if you are confronted with dis dat n de other then it must be off putting and hard to read.

My two year old nephew is even getting in on it all with Bob Da Builder :D
