Casillas: You Cannot Compare Me & Buffon

Real Madrid star Iker Casillas says that it is impossible to say who is better out of him and Gianluigi Buffon as they are both different styles of goalkeepers.

There has been much disagreement between the Spanish and Italian media over whether Casillas or Juventus star Buffon is the best goalkeeper in the world.

"The five best [excluding himself] are Buffon, Reina, Palop, Cech, and Van der Sar,” Casillas told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"You cannot make comparisons [between me and Buffon]. We have different styles and are physically diverse.”

Casillas was also asked again about the absence of team-mate Raul in the Spain national team.

”Raul is not being called up by the coach, but he is in form so you never know what could happen,” he said.

Finally Casillas was asked about the defence of Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Fabio Cannavaro, and Gabriel Heinze that he has in front of him.

"We have the strongest defence in the world in my opinion. We have a great mix of experience and youth, strength and technique, intelligence and pace,” he concluded.

Real Madrid travel to Italy next week in the much-anticipated first leg of their last 16 Champions league tie with Roma.
