Ocio Angered By Bernabéu Red Card
Aitor Ocio was adamant that he did nothing wrong after being sent off in Sevilla's defeat by Real Madrid and accused the fourth official of interfering.
The Andalucians' defender was dismissed in the 82nd minute after an incident with Mahamadou Diarra and believes that Alfonso Pérez Burrull made a mistake.
"The referee has made a bad error in his interpretation and, what is worse, the one who told him about the incident was the fourth official," Ocio said.
"It really is incredible. It is impossible that he saw clearly what happened from over 60 metres away.
"All I can say is that Diarra was continuously grabbing me and all I did was try to release myself from him.
"There was nothing unusual about it for it to be considerd an act of aggression."
After losing 3-2 in the Bernabéu, Sevilla slipped four points behind league leaders Barcelona, but Ocio does not believe that his team are out of the title race.
"It is not important to us that people are already saying that the title is now between Barcelona and Real Madrid," he continued.
"Nobody may be taking us into account any longer, but be sure that we are still going to fight until the very end."
Sevilla keeper, Andrés Palop, agreed and also accused the matchday officials of making a bad decision.
"We were punished with a stupid sending off that the referee has done by mistake," he said.
"The ref was right next to the incident and yet he has to be told by someone off the pitch that something happened."
