History: Daphne Greengrass was born 17 years ago at Greengrass Manor in London. As a young child, she and her younger sister were coddled by their parents and waited on by the family house-elf. In her first year at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Slytherin house and soon became friends with Pansy Parkinson and Millicent Bulstrode. She, like the other Slytherins, won Professor Snape’s favoritism with her pureblood lineage and superior attitude. In her second year, Daphne was among those who did not want the Chamber of Secrets closed. Daphne went to Hogsmeade with the other Slytherins in her third year. She did not know at the time he escaped that Sirius Black was innocent, and she thought it a great shame that a supporter of Voldemort’s who was loose once again was going to be recaptured. Of course, she wore a “Potter Stinks” badge in her fourth year. When Dumbledore told the school that the Dark Lord had returned, she believed him and was delighted. All throughout her fifth year, though, she supported Umbrige, who was inadvertently helping the Death Eaters by covering up for them. By this time, she knew that Sirius was innocent, but she felt no need to make that knowledge public. Once he died, she was thrilled. In her sixth year, she wondered what Draco’s elusive mission was, but she was too obsessed with her classmate, Blaise Zabini, to worry much about that. Of course, it was simply lovely that Dumbledore died. Daphne has not yet been made a Death Eater, but she is in support of their ideals. Now she is ready to finish off her education at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Personality: To her classmates, Daphne appears cold and aloof. She is quiet in an impressive, snobby kind of way. Although not particularly loquacious, she has the ability to well-timed, scalding comments. To her teachers, Daphne is polite, if a bit stuck-up. She does not have a perfect reputation, but she has a pretty good one. She does not go out of her way to make the teachers dislike her. Around her housemates, she emits an air of superiority. She tries to act like she’s the best out of all of them. She has close friends, though, including Pansy Parkinson and Millicent Bulstrode. She is passionate about her support of the Dark Lord, and she makes sure all those who share her views are aware of that. Inside, Daphne is, like most bullies, insecure. She is afraid that she could lose everything – her family’s respected position, her popularity, and so on – at a moment’s notice. She worries that she isn’t good-looking, and that her crush, Blaise Zabini, will never like her. Not that she would ever let anyone else in on her little secret.

Sample Post: Daphne Greengrass reclined in the Slytherin Common room in a large green armchair. Her swishy willow wand rested in the pocket of her school robes, and a sneer crossed her face. She lifted a slender hand and ran it through her reddish-blond hair, twirling a golden lock in her fingers. She batted her long, mascara-coated eyelashes for a moment. She let go of her hair, and it fell back into place, laying to rest on her shoulder.

Daphne reached into her pocket. Her spindly fingers curled around her wand for a moment, but then moved on. They felt the round rememberall that her mother had given her the previous summer, but that too she passed by. She let out a sigh as she finally admitted that what she searched for was no longer where she had placed it. Someone had taken her mirror.
