Body Type:Thalamus is a fit girl. She isn’t model thin nor is she fat. She has muscle tone from working with the dogs. Without shoes she stands an outstanding five feet and seven inches tall. She has a toasty ivory skin tone, meaning she’s ivory…but a darker variation.
Eyes:Miss Delaney has large, almond shaped hazel eyes. Her eyelashes reflect her mother’s in the sense they are long and full. Depending on her mood and how she is feeling the color of her eyes will change from green to brown. When she is feeling ok her eyes are green, when she is sick or angry they turn brown. Of course there are days where her eyes will linger in color limbo.
Hair:In her teens Thalamus went on a hair dying spree trying every color she could find. From lightning blue to Atomic Puke Green. As she got older she let her hair grow out into its natural wheat blonde. Her natural highlights of darker blondes and light browns began to show themselves as she hit her mid 20’s.

GENERAL;</span>
[SIZE=0]
Thalamus is a strong willed girl. She knows what she enjoys and she isn’t afraid to look like a boring person for it. She loves to spend her time doing artsy things. She loves to go out and take pictures of people and things she sees. She finds her inspiration in attending gallery openings and showings of famous or amateur work. She also revels in studying psychology. She has walls lined with books on not only how the human mind works but a dogs mind too. She has a passion for working with dogs. She’s loved animals since she was a child. She volunteered at the humane society when she was a teenager and typically ended up taking the older dogs home to live out a life rather then be put down. She is a sympathetic person. She will do as much as she can, without compromising herself, to help other and animals.
As kind as she is she does have a temper. She is easily set off by people who try to judge her based on her appearance. The dumb blonde jokes grind on her nerves. She doesn’t like to go out and party and would much rather just stay at home and watch a movie sipping hot coacoa. She avoids places where heavy drug use is apparent. Meaning nightclubs, alleyways, etc. She finds herself unable to stand the sound of rap along with the demeaning message she perceives against women. She is against the female inferiority complex some people have and will stand up for herself if she feels it’s being used against her. She won’t stand to see animals of any kind abused. She is upset when she is around drugs or alcohol of any kind. The memories tied along with the sight and smell create more discomfort for her then she is willing to put up with.
Thalamus doesn’t let things in her past harm her now. She’s the kind of girl to take what she can from something and to run with it. She isn’t perfect and knows it. She watches herself closely and when she sees her pride getting in the way she’ll over compensate in some way to make up for her actions. She is a loyal friend to the people she cares about. Her family is her world. She is closest to her mother. She tends to be friends with guys more then females because she has issues with being the….how to phrase….she likes to be the main girl in a group. She loves the attention she gets when she hangs out with just guys. She can be a playful goofball when she chooses to be. She avoids behaving as such when around people who don’t know her well enough to know she is an intelligent woman. She avoids creating a “dumb blonde” image for herself.
TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE...
skeletons in the closet?
PARENTS;
-Sabien (mother)
-Mercutio (Father)
SIBLINGS;
-Dorsal (Brother younger)
GENERAL;
Thalamus was born to Sabien and Mercutio Delaney before they were married. They remained unmarried through most of her childhooh. As a result they broke up and got back together often in Thalamus’s childhood. She hated the atmosphere but was able to keep a pet with her at all times. Her mother, Sabien, grew up housing animals and thought it was vital that her own children grow up with the same love for them that she had. Mercutio didn’t agree but saw how his daughter loved the animals and finally consented. When Thalamus turned 5 her parents finally settled down and got married. Around 9 months later her brother was born.
When Dorsal was born Thalamus was excited. She loved babies. After a few days of the lacking attention from her mother and father she started to realize a baby meant less time for her. She coped by spending more time with animals and outdoors. She was given a camera for her 11th birthday and was encouraged to take pictures of everything. So she did. She developed a passion for it. She kept going along with it up to date. As her little brother grew up she taught him how to work with animals and how to take pictures. She loved to mentor him and to dress him up in clothes and to make him do crazy things with her. They were happy.
Her parents were another story. She loved them both and they loved her. The problem was they didn’t love each other. The relationship between the two remained strained for years before they finally called it quits. Thalamus took it harder then Dorsal did. He was still young enough he wasn’t sure what was going on. She was 14 and old enough to know what it meant. Her ideals of family and home were altered. She was determined from then on to not fall into a pattern that even slightly resembled her parents.
When she was 16 she had her first “serious” boyfriend. At least to her it was serious. She loved the commitment and put her whole heart and soul into it. Her grades were dropping and her relationship with her brother was put on the back burner for the young man. In the end she lost her virginity to him and he left her after becoming addicted to drugs. She had tried to get him to quit. He refused and grew tired of her efforts. A few months later he died in a drug overdose. She was devastated. Even though he had hurt her in the worst ways she still had loved him. She pitied him for not having more people care for him.
When he died, she turned to Dorsal. The relationship between the two grew strong again and when she turned 25, and him 20 they parted for Dorsal to attend a university. They talked on the phone constantly and keep in touch. Thalamus was close to her mother. Through it all her mother had been a support. After the breakup though she felt like if she told her mother what had happened and what was really going on she would be kicked out of the house. She had been raised in a “wholesome” household where pre-marital sex was forbidden on all levels. When she had moved out she told her mother everything, ensuring she was a safe distance in case her mother blew up.
For months her mother did not speak to her. She found it nearly unbearable. Dorsal would update her on how their mother was doing from time to time in conversation. One day, several months after the parting, her mother called and explained what had been going on and what was to be done. Thalamus agreed that seeing a therapist would be good for her. Her mother accompanied her for a while but then she started attending on her own. She found the work fascinating and began to study independently on it.
Her father, though a good man, cut off all contact when her parents had gotten a divorce. She grew up with her single mother who was too hesitant to date anyone for fear some creep coming in and trying to harm her children. Thalamus’s mother was loving but paranoid. She always assumed the worst and it carrys on even today.
So there's her family life, now for her social life. Besides the boyfriend when she was 17 she dated any guys afterwards on and off trying to make up for the emptyness. She would jump from one relationship right into the next trying to find someone who sastisfied her emotional need. She is still searching.
Thalamus has had a few close friends since she was little. Nyxx and Kate. She grew up with Nyxx since their mothers were best friends in highschool. They had been glued at the hip since birth, not that they had much choice when they were younger. They did about everything together during their teens. Photography, helping out at the pound, goign to concerts, dying hair. Everything. They kept the bond strong when they went different ways for College.
Kate on the otherhand, Thalamus met in the 9th grade. The drama class had been close and randomly one day a new student pops up. The tension between the two girls was easy enough to be felt through the room. Thalamus finally figured out they had two other classes together. They started to bond when Thalamus started to share the poetry she would write during class. Through this hey bonded and grew close. Kate walked Thalamus through all the tough times with guys and other events through her life. They’ve stayed close all their lives.

Thalamus sighed and hung up the phone. Another long talk with her mother involving what she had been discussing in therapy. She almost wanted to tell her mother to stuff it when she went on about how she could have found a man by now if she wasn’t so headstrong and prideful. Like her mother was one to talk. She half slammed the phone onto the cradle. She looked to the wall where she had a picture of herself and Dorsal hanging. She sighed and laid her head back on the arm rest of the moss green chair. Her mind reeled and she couldn’t help but want to scream, so she did. She let out one tiny scream. She sighed and looked at the clock. It was only 8. She couldn’t help but feel pitiful. She liked being home but, to be alone? She could hear the jingle of her dog’s collar as the tiny corgi ran through the dog door in the kitchen. She heard the clicking of it’s nails and looked to the doorway where it stood with it’s head to the side as if to ask, ”Whatcha screamin about mom?” She smiled and pat her leg as she walked to the bathroom. The dog followed obediently behind her. She closed the door and drew a bath. She sat on the edge of the tub as it filled. She turned to the short-stack of a dog next to her.
“She can just mind her own business now can’t she Fluffers?” she said in a baby voice to the dog. She pulled off her clothes and sunk slowly into the water after it had filled. She looked to the side and saw the dog curled up licking itself in the corner. She sighed and rolled her eyes. She sunk until only her eyes were above the water and looked side to side. Nothing but her bathroom. Nothing new, or exotic about it. She sighed and closed her eyes.
A few minutes into her relaxation session she was jolted awake by the sound of her doorbell. Fluffers went crazy. She barked and clawed at the bathroom door to get out. Thalamus growled causing a wave of bubbles to surface and stood. She grabbed a towel off the rack and threw open the door to her bathroom. She stomped down the hall to the front door and flung it open,
“Yes?” she said in a semi-sweet but sarcastic tone.
