As Lucy grew older, she was only frustrated by this. Her father and mother expected her to be the perfect child, perfect at everything. She was supposed to do well, act well, and impress them and everyone else. Lucy had quite the temper and often threw fits much to her disadvantage. She hated being an only child sometimes, wishing for another brother or sister. Lucy couldn't appreciate the fact that she had to act like something she was not. When she was coming closer to going to Hogwarts, her rebellious nature began to show. She showed her parents no respect, they gave her none. Lucy entered the common room and stepped towards the window, glancing out. The snow was coming down very hard, which she was pretty happy about. She took her hand and tucked a long piece of her hair behind her ear. Christmas was in two days, she was glad that she wasn't going home. Lucy made up some pathetic excuse just to stay in Hogwarts, she was in no mood to see her father. Her father and her had been in quite the fight lately, over how she was performing in school and getting detention frequently. Lucy liked to cause problems; it was in her nature.

She glanced at the couch behind her and stepped over to it, sitting down. Hearing footsteps from the stairs, she prayed that it was someone she could handle. Lucy was in a nasty mood after getting in trouble in Transfiguration. Turning her attention towards the stairs, she tried not to groan when she saw a small boy heading down them into the common room. He seemed slightly intimidated by her, and Lucy just shook her head. She would just act as if she were doing something. At her side, she picked up a book and stared aimlessly at the cover. There was no way she'd read this, it was just a distraction. She was hoping the boy didn't talk to her, he was a first year, it wasn't hard to tell, and she knew he'd most likely ask questions or try to act calm and reserved.

What is the meaning of life?: Zzzzz.
