It was early in the morning and Hogwarts was, for the most part, still sleeping. No one was in the corridors and only two people had occupied the Library. Madam Prince, of course, was always there, but Lucy was also in the room, wandering various shelves. She hadn't slept well and preferred the idea of hunting for a good book compared to another few hours of tossing and turning.

So, wandering around in the quiet, she watched the titles as she moved. Then, something broke the silence. Footsteps

Abby grumbled softly as she entered the deserted library. Even though she wasnt taking classes, she was told that she had to get some studying in so she could at least be prepared to take the N.E.W.Ts at the end of the semester. Her drowsy eyes looked around the room, which appeared to be empty besides Madam Prince. Something, or someone caught her eye though. A person, to be exact.

She headed towards the girl, looking at the words on the sides of the books, looking like a blur. She cracked a small smile when she approached her. She needed to be nice, she hadnt had many friends around anymore and she was always depressed. "Hi," she whispered ti her, breaking the drifting silence all around the room.

Lucy looked up and saw a Slytherin girl, "hello" Lucy said, she smiled "My name is Lucy, Lucy Brooks" she hold out her hand "what's your?" she asked. Lucy wanted to make some friend and this girl looked like she wanted to be friend although she is in Slytherin.

Abby sighed slightly, but she didnt let her small smile drop. Another Lucy... she thought. "Im Abby - Abby Black." she said, taking the girls hand and shaking it lightly, then releasing.

Lucy smile, "so you like to read books?" Lucy asked, she was running out of words and she just thought she would asked a question.

"No," she said blankly. She ran her finger along the edges of the books. "i hate it actually - I just have to study for N.E.W.Ts 'cause I havent been in classes and so on." she shrugged slightly.

"oh i see" Lucy said and continued to find for a book, since the all the books in the library she had already read she took out a book and begin to read it.

"Yeah, it bites." she sighed. She really did miss going to classes - it did give her something to do. "What year are you in?" she asked trying to talk to her. She pulled out a book and brushed the dust off the cover. Spell Meanings. the cover of the book read. She opened it and flipped through the pages.

Lucy smiled, "I am only a first year student" she said. "what about you" she asked, closing the book in her hands and taking another one.

Abby sat on the table behind her. "Well, welcome." she said, but it sounded sort of like a question. "I'm in my seventh year, actually." she sighed, thinking about when she was only a first year.

"Um...Thanks?" Lucy said quite unsure what to say.

Abby nodded. "Sure-" she replied, not sure what to say. She picked up a book that was on the table and began to flip through the pages. "What house are you in?" she asked, not taking her eyes off the pages.

"Well somehow i am in Hufflepuff" she said, she actually thought she would be in Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, but she somehow ended up in Hufflepuff.

Abby nodded slightly. "I see." actually, Abby had somehow cheated her way into Slytherin. The Sorting Hat wanted to put her in Ravenclaw because of her smartness that she actually did poscess, but she refused and fought mentally with the hat to put her in Slytherin.

"So do you enjoy being here?" Lucy asked, she knew it was a stupid question, but she wanted to get to know this girl.

Abby looked at her blankly. "Besides the fact that its fucked up her - yes." she said with a half nod. She wasn't really going to say why it was fucked up, just the fact that it was. "You like it?" she asked simply.

"Yeah, i really love it!" Lucy said, pretending not to heard the ton used by Abby.

"Well thats nice. Just remember.. don't go around with boys." she said with a shrug. Who cared what Lucy thought about her comment? Sometimes the truth came hard, whatever. She sighed, stabbing a sharpened quill into the soft wood of the table.

"Whats wrong about the boys?" Lucy asked curiously.

"They are hoes." she replied with a sly grin. Really, there was more to it than just 'they are hoes', but Abby wasn't about to give detail. If Lucy was to get herself to the point where drama was about to start, sure Abby would throw her two cents and warn her, but for now, no.

"They are hoes?" Lucy asked, she did not truly understand what the girl mean by that. She thought for a moment and said "Sorry, I don't understand what you mean" She was very puzzled by what the girl just said.

Abby shook her head. "Nevermind that. Just be careful not to get yourself mixed with the wrong sorts." she nodded. Which was clearly the truth. "Just be careful who you make friend with. Some will just leave without warning, others will just break your heart and leave." she said, clearly taking a stroll down memory lane.

"Um...Okay" Lucy said. She was not sure how the subject even came to this topic. But she remain quiet. "So anyway, got any interesting news?" she asked.

Abby rolled her eyes in a sort of way. Of course the girl wouldn't understand what Abby had meant - and to add to it, Abby wasn't going to explain. She looked at her - thinking about the question asked. "I found some family." she said with a shrug.

"Um...Cool?" Lucy said, "What's up with this girl, she is giving really weird answers" she thought. A ray of light shine on her, she turn towards the window to see the sun raising. "Wow, amazing!" she thought.

Abby sighed. "I'm sorry if I seem sort of - odd. I've had some rough times lately, and yeah. It sort of messes with your head." Abby hopped off the table she was sitting on and picked a book that was on the floor. She sat back down on the table, and flipped through the pages.

"Um...yeah" Lucy said, she took out a book and open it, she looked through the pages and started to read it.

"You don't talk much, do you?" Abby asked, she was one to ask strange questions that didn't really matter

"I don't think so, why do you say that?" Lucy asked, she knew that she usually did not mind talking to people, she was not the quiet type either, she knew it very well.

"You just seem like it - but and too, I don't even know you." she shrugged slightly.

"Yeah, ones we get to know each other better I would talk more, like I do with my close friends" Lucy said.

"Ah, I see." She nodded slightly. "Well maybe one day we will get to know each other a bit more."

"Yeah...maybe one day we will" Lucy said. She took out a few thick book and turn to Abby. "Well, I will just borrow this books and head for breakfast, the sun is already up and I don't want to be late for the first class today" she said.
