Abby walked up the steps to the top, up in the Owlery. She didnt have a letter to mail, she just needed to get out of Hogwarts...away from the huslle and buslle of the Holiday season. Abby walked to the window and sat down on the window sill, looking out of the darkening grounds. Soon, it would be late a past curfew, but Abby had a wild idea to sleep in the owlery. SHe had packed herself a pillow and blanket, just in case she did decide.

Abby looked toward the entrance, hearing someone come up the steps....

Dulce walked up the stone steps of the owlery, she had decided to make rounds up there because most students hang there to practice spells or fight with spells. As she did so she heard someone up a little farther she took her wand out and whispered "lumos." And her wand lit up with a blinding flash of light. She looked and saw a girl she asked "What are you doing up here this late at night?"

"Get that bloody light out of my eyes," Abby said at the sudden light coming from the girls wand. Abby looked at the girl and seen something gleam in the light. She saw something shine; she suddenly noticed a badge. Damn it! Bloody Prefect! She thought. "Its not your business why I am up here." She replied simply.

Dulce put her wand lower so the light would shine on the ground and looked at the girl as she talked and noticed slytherin robes she thought to herself 'There is going to be trouble I can feel it.' then replied to the girls question and answered "Mind your attitude Slytherin or I will report you to the headmisteress."

Abby raised an eyebrow. "And let me get a detention?" She nearly laughed. "Anyways... Gryffindor, ah yes." She looked at the girls robes closely. "Arent you aware that students..and Prefects. are not supposed to be on the grounds after dark?" She asked the girl coldly.

Dulce smiled at the girl "I had asked for prefect duties on grounds because there are many fights that go on around here and its only a step closer to stopping them." then looked at the girl once more and answered her to the first comment "Yes actually give you a detention.

"Ohh, so scary." She said to the detention part. "I would only miss it anyways. And Im up here ALOT- trust me- and I have not seen one fight." Abby shifted around a bit, still not taking her eyes off the Gryffindor.

Dulce laughed as the Slytheirn said 'oh so scary.' and Dulce said"Well maybe you havent been here at the right times when the fights go on." and Dulce asked the girl "What is your name?"

"My name? So you can report me? Ill pass." She said. Abby stood up and stretched. She walked back and forth a few times, then sat back down on the window sill.

Dulce smiled and said "Who said I was going to report you I though we were friends." then laughed at her joke.Then Dulce walked passed the girl and into the owlery and tapped her wand on the wall so it would go out. She whistled a tune and a barn owl flew down and landed on her shoulder she reached in her pocket and attached a note to its leg and it flew off after she whispered something to it. Dulce looked at the girl and said "Please I dont want to get you down my self im way to tired. Could you just get off your lazy arse and go."She said tirdely walking on the stone steps again.

Harry had been wandering around, looking for Abby. When he didn't ifnd her in the castle, he knew she was outside. He'd seen a light coming from the owlrey and decided to look there. But it wasn't Abby he saw first, it was some other girl. It was to dark to tell which house she was from, but he didn't care. He was so tired and just wanted to get Hedwig. He realized it was a new girl. "Hi. Excuse me," he said, as he pushed past her into the owlrey. "Hi Abby! I was wondring where you went. I'm bored. And, who's that?"

"I dont really feel like it...but you are free to leave." She said cooly. "I dont really wanna go back to the castle you see...there is wayyy too much stress there at the moment---and Im not one that can handle it well." She sighed.

Abby turned to hear the voice comming from a boy. "'Lo Harry," She said, hearing that it was him. "Shes a Gryffindor, also." She nodded to herself, answering his question. She hadnt gotten to know the girls name yet, and she probably never would-at least not tonight. She looked over to where she thought Harry was (as it was hard to see).

"Really? Interesting," he said, eyeing the other girl. he noticed something shining on her chest... a prefect badge. "Hmmm, head girl it looks like. Back when I was here, I was never a prefect. Ii caused to much trouble - and the world caused too much trouble for me. Dumbledore thought it was best if I wasn't. At least I don't have a curfew anymore, unlike some people," he laughed, poking Abby. "You cheeky thing. You know you're supposed to stay in the castle." Then he whispered, "But that's ok. They only made rules so we can break them."

Abby sighed. "Harry--I would gho back...but its too much stress around there---you know." She whispered to him.

Dulce looked as the boy brushed passed him looking at him closely knowing it was Harry Potter she wasn't impressed already knowing all about him. As Dulce decided to cave in and let the girl stay there for a little while. Dulce smiled and said"Fine I will let you stay here for a little while longer but please go back to your common room before I get back form my other rounds."

"Thanks...means alot to me.." She said to the girl.

Dulce smiled "No problemo..." she walked down the stone steps to the bottom of the Owlery and yelled "Nice meeting you..Abby." then walked away laughing.

"How the fu---" She shook her head. She didnt remember telling her name. Ah! Harry said my name. She thought.

Harry watched the girl leave, without even getting to know her name. She seemed so blunt and straightforward, yet mysterious.He looked back at Abby. "Aren't you kinda cold out here?" he asked. Just then Hedwig flew down from her perch to greet hikm. "Hey girl! I'm sorry it's kinda late for this, but would you take that Lucy? Thanks." Hedwig hooted softly then flew off. When he looked back at Abby, he noticed her expression had changed a little. he wasn't sure whether it was hurt or jealousy, or something in between. "Aw, don't look at me like that," he laughed. "So... what's causing all this stress?" He hated getting all up in her business, but it just seemed that she needed someone to talk to.

"Naw not really cold at all," She said, watching him with hs owl. "Stress--everybody wanting to go home to visit their parents.." Se sighed. She whished she could go hoe and see her parents, but evidentaly, they were dead.

"Yeah, I know exactly how you feel," he told her sympatetically. "I always wanted to go home and just see my parents and have them say hi and get hugs... but I never could. I stayed with the Weasley's though, so it was just as good."

"Weasley's treated you good, eh?" She asked with a small smile. "Couldnt really say if my Aunt loves me or not, its sort of hard to tell when I come home." She sighed.

" Oh my gosh, it's the same with my aunt. Well, no, I could tell she didn't love me. She locked me in a closet until I was eleven, but then I gained more status and moved to the very smallest room in the house," he replied. "I totally know how you feel."

"Wow, thats harsh. She locked you in a closet? Thats like the lowest a person could go..but you did get a room at least." She said.

"Eventually. It was more of a bed. The room was full of all my cousin's crap, like Playstations and a TV and just junk everywhere." he wondered if she knew what those were. He hadn't even asked if she were a pureblood. but it didn't really matter, he liked her just the same.

"Wow. That would be pretty cool having all that in one room," She said, nodding a tad. "I wouldnt mind that."

"None of it really worked though, and even it did I would've gotten punished for touching it," he sighed.

"Wow-really? How could a person actualy be that mean?" She asked, but she knew a person could even from her own experences. Her Father. She sighed, just thinking the slightest of him.

"Well, they're muggles," he said. His aunt had protected him in his fifth year however - her one stroke of kindness.

"What do muggles have to do with anything?" She asked.

"They're idiots, most of em. All the ones I've known anyway. They knew perfectly well what I was, but did they bother to tell me? No. Once I found out, they treated me like some sort of freak show!"

"Wow, such jack asses," She said. That had to be hard on him, espically when he first heard about it.

"You can say that again," he sighed. "And it sounds like you had it just as horrible."

"I guess so," She shrugged, not really wanting to think about it.

"is somehting wrong?" he asked. "You look a bit troubled."

Abby looked out to the grounds, almost forgetting that Harry had spoken. She turned her head back to face him. "Nope, nothing is wrong." She said then turned back to look at the darkening grounds.

"You sure?" He asked. "You look a bit lost. What's up?"

Abby looked back to him, a small smirk on her face. "Im always lost." she sighed slightly, but she didnt want Harry to hear. "Nothings up," she said blankly. "What makes you ask?" she asked, even though she already knew the answer 'she was a bit lost'.

He shrugged. "Just curious. What 'cha doing?"

Abby shrugged. "Just looking out," she replied simply. "What about you?"
