Chris Hitchens - September 11, 2007 01:13 PM (GMT)
"La de do da." he hummed walking into the Oakland Arena and looking around at the place, the crowd, the food, the drinks, the stage. Who was going to be playing again? Didn't matter really, he'd give it a shot, but if they blew then damn it he'd sure as hell leave He hated no talents thinking they were musicians when they weren't. Fakes. The number one rule around Chris Hitchens is never fake. Not in the joking sense or faking death and all just for a laugh, but the whole being something you're not around him was a big fat NO. He walked through the arena gate and into the place stopping in his tracks looking around some more. "There has to be something entertaining to do until these people start the show or whatever they're going to do tonight." he mumbled to himself already bored. He pulled out his cell phone and began texting random people. It was easy to just text the entire contact list and whoever answered, would answer. 'Bored at the Arena. Someone come f**king save me!' was what he texted before hitting send on his phone and waited for a reply.
He closed his cell, and turned seeing a refreshment stand sitting there. Fuck it. He was thirsty and he didn't want to stand around and just be thirsty all day. That would be kind of dumb to do. If you're thirsty you get a drink. SO he did. Chris liked simple solutions. If you're thirsty, get a drink, if you're hungry eat, if you're horny...well you get the picture. He walked up ordering a soda and they made it, gave it to him, he paid, and then he took a drink lowering the cup seeing people walking around not noticing anyone he knew. "Someone needs to answer..." he mumbled to himself and leaned against the wall of the concession stand.

[ergh. sorry it took so long to reply. i just now saw that you made it. =/ ]
Val was somewhat enjoying her newfound freedom of not having to really worry about flirting with the nearest person as she was now yet again left sleeping and waking up alone in the morning - single. It was almost a relief not to have to worry about somebody as often as you worried about yourself, though there were definitely pros and cons to not being with the person you liked. It could suck, plus she had constant reminders of what was now her ex. The ferret he had gotten her, the songs that she wished she could rip up that she had written. She was in the need to get out and about, get some fresh air so couldn't say that she hadn't been relieved to get a text-message from somebody whom she had met around twice a few times or something.
She quickly texted 'I'll be there so we can have some fun, bitch,' laughed, and pressed the send button before leaving her apartment in the tight band t-shirt, capris, and stilettos that elevated her extremely petite frame a couple more inches off the ground. Walking swiftly down to the Arena, she walked in the direction of where the gate was; trying to pinpoint Chris in the swarm of people that seemed to be gathering.
Finding Chris, who didn't seem to see her either, she quickly walked up behind him; swiftly prodding him lightly on the shoulder. "Hoe."
Chris Hitchens - September 21, 2007 06:08 PM (GMT)
CHris sighed waiting still and decided to grab a program to see who the hell was going to be playing tonight anyways. He got one, and studied it slightly just reading when he felt his cell vibrate. He reached in grabbing it, thinking finally, to himself before opening it to see that Val was going to be on her way. The text made him laugh, but he was also relieved that someone answer the text message he had sent out. He started walking around to pass some time hoping she'd soon hurry before hearing her 'hoe' comment from behind.
He turned around smirking and looked down her figure and nodded. "So then that makes you the pimp? I'm guessing you want to test the product to right?" he smirked jokingly with her before giving her a slight hug and pulled away. "Thank god you answered Val. I was going out of my mind alone here. I don't even know if I'd want to stay for the bands." he told her handing her the program. "Know any of them?" he asked curiously raising an eyebrow.
Valentine Leigh - September 22, 2007 05:19 AM (GMT)
Val couldn't have asked for a better reason to escape the solitude that seemed to be lurking everywhere she went, than to hang out with Chris. So she couldn't say that she wasn't at all thrilled about heading over to the Arena with him, it was about time that they did something together. She hadn't seen him in ages, at least since her & Gun had split; and it would be nice to be able to flirt and whatnot without feeling obligated to another or apologetic.
"I'm the pimp, that sounds nice," she laughed, though she knew it sounded funny when she would say those type of terms partially thanks to her by now fairly vague by still obvious enough, New Zealand accent. Sounded more Australian than anything else, seeing as those two were often mixed up. Anyways, she offered a playful grin to him, elbowing him teasingly; before responding even further and listening to Chris as he spoke.
"So I'm playing lifesaver this time? Sounds like somebody owes me one hell of a time," she told him, partially jokingly, briefly meeting his eyes; before taking his arm in her own and pulling him through the entrance to the Arena to see exactly what there was to do this particular afternoon-evening. Glancing at the band list momentarily, her eyebrows arching in puzzlement; they seemed to be much lesser known, probably local bands so couldn't say that she familarized with herself all at once. "Not any in particular, unless they're signed."
Chris Hitchens - September 24, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Chris was really glad that Val was the one that answered to be honest. They haven't nearly hung out much lately because she was always wrapped up in plans with her guy, but today she was hanging with him, and that was pretty cool. He didn't even know how long he planned to stay actually depending on how good the band was but still. He'd give them the chance first to impress him. If they could.
"And I have to dress in heels. Not seeing the benefits out of this relationship really yet." he told her puzzled just thinking about that. He laughed, but wouldn't that be a funny sight. Val with a huge hat and a feather, and him in heels dressed in drag. Oh god the horror that would bring. Quite possibly scar him for life so that wasn't going to be happening anytime soon.
"My Baywatch, babe." he nodded in response to the lifesaver moment. He was teasing slightly although Val could quite possibly pass for one maybe. He didn't watch the show much, but he had caught a few episodes now and then. He suddenly felt himself being pulled through the entrance and they were off to the stage. "Well if it sucks then we can just take off. Plain and simple." he smirked slightly with another nod looking to her. It'd be a few minutes before the bands even started playing so it gave him a chance to catch up. "So, how's you and the boytoy?" he asked her curiously. Not that the boytoy comment was bad, he just referred to all guys in relationships the girl's boytoy.
Valentine Leigh - September 24, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
Valentine was somewhat relieved that she got to hang out with her friends more often, now that Gun & her weren't in a relationship. Because she had pretty much gotten dumped, and she was still trying to figure out the reasoning behind it; perhaps he hadn't loved her as much as she had thought. Evs though. She was getting over it, and that included not thinking about it at the time present. Otherwise she wouldn't go anywhere, just dwell in that past, and that obviously didn't help anything.
"You can have mine. I have some that might just fit you, because I have enormous feet," she decided to go along with what he had said, jokingly of course; a small, lopsided smirk instinctively spreading as her eyes lingered up on Chris. Yes, she had to look up considerably to see him properly. So much for the intimidation factor. "I'm your Baywatch babe? So be it. Guys think they're all hot and shit, so that works."
"Yeah. We're not together anymore," she told him inakwardly, really not wanting to go into details or placing the blame or anything that would have to do on the subject of why he had dumped her. Because honest to God, she didn't think she had done anything wrong except falling for him. Her hands were now shoved in her pockets, that let's say she had, and she avoided eye contact for a minute before glancing up at the near approaching stage.
"I'm supposing you have your own girl?" Valentine couldn't picture a guy like Chris without some interest in somebody, or a girlfriend.
Chris Hitchens - September 25, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
"Nah, I think I'm good." he nodded with a smirk on the heels comment. He couldn't really see himself and those and nor would he ever. He made his way closer to the front of the stage and looked to Val laughing. "Well let me know what shift you work on the beach and I'll bring a camera." he teased jokingly. Couldn't slow down real life though unforunately like Baywatch did do. Oh well, life was a bitch after all. He figured she was going to say that her and her boy were good and happy and all, but not that. "Oh. Sorry." he just stated not pushing the matter knowing most didn't like bringing up past. It was like him. He hated bring up old drama that just ruined the day for him when he planned to have a good time.
The next question was quite funny as well. He'd been hanging with Sasha alot lately, but they weren't together. Although he did miss it when the day ended while hanging. Wishing there was more than just eighteen hours to a day. Of course the rest he was sleeping so he didn't count that but you get the point. Maybe he was starting to feel something for her? Not something he planned really when coming to Oakland was hooking up with someone. However he did like Sasha. Still to the point they weren't dating or anything so no he didn't have any girl. "Not really seeing anyone, no." he shrugged truthfully.
Valentine Leigh - September 25, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
"Aw, Iwas almost on the verge of having a mental visualization of you falling on your ass in those," she teased, her tone dripping in sarcasm, but clearly in one of those effortlessly joking/friendly tones. Half the things that came from Valentine's mouth were either full of sarcasm, light humor, or not meant to be seriously. The others were typically made in a quick effort to fix something, or indeed somewhat serious mostly when involving family, or personal matters like her work. Which she still had to find. "Alright. Just dial the toll free number, and she'll be sure to call you," Valentine told him, putting on one of those mock operator sounding voices before erupting in a bit of laughter along with Chris.
She didn't bother to answer to the 'oh, sorry,' remark; her being identical in the sense of not wanting to bring up or think of the past. In a lot of ways, thinking about the past and all your mistakes or regrets were cruel seeing as you couldn't turn back time no matter how hard you might desire to. That's why she tried to live life however the hell she wanted, and not in that sort of manner most of the time; though the one time she had taken that sorta risk it hadn't ended up the way she had wanted. Last time she would be in a serious relationship, she had told herself recently convincing her mindset that it wouldn't lead to anything but trouble..if not worse.
"I'm suprised," she commented with a slight chuckle, shrugging her shoulders before glancing back up to the stage. Val watched as some guy came buy selling drinks, everything from sodas to beer. "Want anything on me?" She offered, pulling out a chunk of change and planning to order herself a Budweiser. I mean, she was legal now, so nothing was stopping her.
Chris Hitchens - September 25, 2007 04:47 AM (GMT)
"Hell no." he shook his head not wanting to go through the pain of a heel snapping off from underneath and him face planting into the ground. Not fun with broken bones or bruises in general. He'd leave that up to the ladies. The walk part, not the falling part. "Toll free number. Actually I don't think my phone has 800 dialing." he shrugged and laughed slightly. It was when you could dial 800 numbers on your phone that telemarketers could call you as well so he put a block on that. Besides what 800 number would he ever need to call anyways?
"Surprised? What that no one wants me or that I haven't chosen to take anyone on yet?" he asked with a chuckle. It wasn't that he didn't have women that didn't want him he just really wasn't the relationship type. At least he hadn't been. He didn't see himself getting into the drama and pain. Look at Val and Gunn. Point proven, and many others in any city that breaks up in some time. However he figured if the right one came one day then he would. That was IF she came.
Chris looked on the stage at the guy hollering out for drinks and heard Val. "Trying to make this a date now huh?" he teased raising his eyebrow completely joking with her. "Aright, but the souvenirs, and anything else we get here I buy." he told her in agreement to letting her pay for his beer. "Bud." he told her so that she could order and get the drinks. He wasn't exactly legal, but if they didn't card and cops didn't mess then what was the harm? Besides he looked of age. He was only a few months away.
Valentine Leigh - September 25, 2007 04:54 AM (GMT)
"I prefer 'Hella,' or Hell yeah," she laughed, shrugging her shoulders and pretty much only saying something to say something. She wasn't one to stand around and shut her mouth. So she could probably get arrested with supplying alcohol to a 'minor,' though he was only a few months away from reaching twenty one. But hell, it was only beer and it was Oakland where...few people seemed to actually bother about checking for genuine IDS && legal age. It was easier and easier to get in a club, despite how young you might be, these days.
"You've never called a toll free number?" Valentine laughed slightly at that, she could recall a few funny times she had called them just for prank, or just to see what those fucking people would say. She had even called some sort of pregnancy hotline just for a few shits & giggles. Yeah, if asked? She wouldn't exactly recommend him jumping into a relationship the way she had eventually done with Gun, something that she regret to this day because it had indeed affected their friendship as well as other feelings. Drama? Not good, pretty much, and it wasn't the kind that was portrayed on reality shows either.
"I was about to be kind, and suggest the second; but the way you're talking I might have to change my viewpoint," she commented jokingly, though being able to relate perfectly with him on reason and principle.
"Oh you know it," she replied with a sarcastic raise of her eyebrows, and slightly lopsided smirk before calling over the guy for a drink order. "Two buds," she told him, exchanging her cash wad for two buds; and handing one of them to Chris before taking the other and uncorking it. "And that sounds like a deal to me," Valentine nodded in accord when he suggested that the souviners or whatever else were on him. That worked out nicely.
Chris Hitchens - September 25, 2007 05:04 AM (GMT)
It was too the point that Oakland just didn't seem to care if minors were drunk off their asses anymore. Like the other night when he went to the bar he met that girl that sat in the chair across from him and she only being seventeen. That's under eighteen. He knew clubs that let minors in, but that was just minor major. Not that he cared or anything cause he had fun talking with her it was just the point that Oakland didn't give a rats ass about their people obviously.
"No I actually haven't." he laughed shaking his head. He never really had to do anything like that. "Have you? You've been calling those sex line numbers again haven't you, Val?" he joked with a small smirk playing on his lips and a laugh following. "Oh so you want a second now? Have I....woo'ed you Val?" he asked in a low seductive voice more closer so that it was a whisper to her. He pulled away laughing softly and took a drink from his beer. "Thanks by the way." he offered for the beers. It was kind of her. But yeah, the rest he would be getting as the night went on.
Valentine Leigh - September 25, 2007 11:42 AM (GMT)
Though she knew a few friends like Jayson that had been arrested when occasionally caught in position of having alcohol, drugs; she didn't know many that had actually been caught or cared about drinking underage. It was becoming some sort of trend to become an alcoholic before you were even legal. Valentine was often questioned about her age, due to the fact that she didn't really look twenty one despite the fact that she was. It seemed they questioned the people that were legal more than otherwise.
"Somebody's been deprived," she commented, jokingly with a laugh; finding it a bit hard to believe but bemusing all the while. "Oh, you know it. I just had to get some kinky tips," Valentine told him in a sarcastic manner, though laughing freely at what he had said. She just decided to go along with him, just to keep that light humored conversation up.
"How do you know that's my weakness, Hitchens?" Valentine laughed at the whole seductive tone & whisper in her ear, she had a knack of addressing people by their last names on certain occasions just to either get some shits & giggles or because she thought it sounded cool. "My pleasure," she smiled a bit, discreetly enough for him to wonder, before taking a large chug out of the beer. It had been a while since she had had some good alcohol, and oh, did she need it at the very moment.
Chris Hitchens - October 4, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
Chris looked over to her and slightly stuck his tongue out to her. "Not deprived, just...out of the loop." he corrected with a joking tone. He just didn't have the need to call toll free numbers. He didn't know any friends with toll free numbers, and he didn't have bills he had to call so there was just no point in paying fifty more cents on his cell bill for toll free uses. So actually, it wasn't free. Damn phone adverts and their lying ways. Yes it's free to call and talk however long you want, but you're still paying fifty extra cents a month for the feature so techincally, though not expensive, it wasn't free.
He smirked slightly and leaned back in again and whispered again. "I know a lot of things." he offered with a teasing tone, and pulled away once again taking a chug of his beer. A guy walked onto the stage and made his way to the microphone and began to let the crowd know that the thing was getting underway as he introduced the first set of band members to come out and play. Chris offered his clap for them to come out. He looked back over to Val, and raised an eyebrow. "So after this is over, you want to go somewhere else or you have something better to do?" he asked with a small smirk.
Valentine Leigh - October 4, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
"Ah, out of the loop," she remarked, though this time putting a bit of a sarcastic undertone to it; almost as if she hadn't believed what he said. Though she was just messing around with him, trying to lighten things up a bit more. Valentine grinned before returning his gesture, and sticking her tongue back out at him as well. It was funny how they seemed to have similar gestures, or silly habits and quirks on occasion. She didn't really pay much attention to her phone bills or anything so she wouldn't really know if they were free or not, so she couldn't exactly question or rebuttle.
"I know a lot of things, particularly how to charm and tease people like you," she told him, and again judging by her voice she was being completely joking. Or was she, that was left up to him. She watched as the first band was announced, and soon after came out to perform a set or whatever; not really paying attention, her eyes diverted themselves back to Chris.
"Nope. I have nothing else planned. And I'm sure we could think of something else that we could together that might be a bit more entertaining," she told him, finishing up her beer and yawning as the first band clambered off stage. They hadn't been really anything particularly notable. Catching the smirk, she returned it whole heartedily; before at random standing up and heading towards the exit. In the process, she grabbed his arm.
"Give me a location."
